Love love love jumbo pizza with mushroom. Not your typical button mushrooms, but a bit more upscale. Turkey sandwich is good too.

Place never fails! Good lunch, good service, good everything! Would recommend adding some new beer on the list though

Food– 3; Service– 1 First time there I tried the tomato soup and an Italian sandwich. Service wasn’t great but it was really busy so I didn’t think too much about it. Proportions were enormous, and the soup was so good I came back a few days later for more. On the second trip I tried the chicken parm sandwich, which was tasty and was so big I shared with two people. This was a takeout order so no issues with service. So I decide to bring the family and this time we order pizzas and a fettuccine dish, dine-in. We sat outside because it was a nice day. Service sucked– there were two people other people there and we had to go inside and get the waitress in order to get any type of service. There are no free refills on soda so know this before ordering anything to drink.($ 2.35 per cup too) The pizza was good– def the type you eat with a fork. The pasta though– it was drowning in oil. We sent it back. and here’s the kicker… I was told that they charged me for the fettuccine without chicken because it’s cheaper. I won’t be back. There are way too many places where I can get a better meal and better service too.

The food is just ok, but their service is the worst I have ever experienced. Our waitress had no communication skills, we ordered 1 large pizza real simple, and we waited 90 mins until we finally asked what happened our waitress has no answer, so we cancelled our order spoke to the useless manager who did not resolve anything. Waste of our night going to that hole in a wall.

We ordered a pizza and they obviously forgot to put the order in. I called and spoke with Karina who identified herself as the person in charge. I tried to explain myself and our displeasure with our experience but dealing with her only made things worse. She was extremely condescending and lacking basic customer skills. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. there are many other restaurants that value a customer and treat you with respect. I wish I could give them zero stars.

High, very high priced lousy food,. You’re better off eating dominos pizza atleast you’ll have leftover for the next day. Service by teenagers with no comment sense. Each year this place gets worse and worse I have oficially retired this place and tonight is the last time I throw away my money.

This place is cute, the food is pretty good. Definitely a cute place for a date! My boyfriend and I got the deal where you get spaghetti, pizza, salad & a drink for I think it was $ 20. So it was a good deal! It’s a little crowded indoors but the outdoor seating is great!

visited tonight with my two Italian loving sons, 10 and 8, we ordered the meatballs, the soup of the day, and some garlic bread(it was included but our waitress didn’t tell us so we ended up with a table full of toast with garlic butter we payed extra for) we got«salads”(lettuce carrot shreds with ranch sauce) :(wine,(cheap burgundy in a carafe $ 10) … Not only where we the only costumes but our drinks and bread arrived late… We ordered the baby clams in white butter sauce aka can of clams microwave with butter imitation they chopped up a lemon with seeds still inside… yuck! Disgusting $ 70 bill! when I told the waitress the food wasn’t good she said try something different next time… I felt bad giving left overs to my dogs Horrible do not visit

I work very close by so this is the PERFECT lunch spot to go to. Their lunch menu is really good along with their lunch specials that they have on weekdays I have been going here at least once a week for the past 2 years FOOD: I highly highly recommend the meatball sub by itself or with bowl of sausage and kale soup Their pizza is also very very good. It’s not an New York style pizza, the crust is on the thinner side of the crust spectrum, the toppings are generous and taste quality. The garlic bread is good too! Service: is outstanding, the staff is very friendly and helpful. When it gets busy you might have to wait since it’s usually only 1 – 2 waitresses Overall I love going to this restaurant for lunch

If you’re into thick, rich and deliciously greasy pizza, then Genovese’s is the spot for you! My cousin and I came here after tirelessly looking for places to eat. When she suggested Italian, I knew I needed to bring her here. I had heard such great things about this place from my co-workers, but never really had the opportunity to try it until now– and I am not disappointed! My cousin ordered the Lasagna, and she was over the moon with her decision. She said it was one of the most authentic tasting dishes she’s had. I had the traditional Pepperoni Pizza. It went down the hatch pretty well if I do say so! The mozzarella was so gooey, melty and ahhhhh! I just couldn’t have enough! The downside? The place is a little small, as is the parking lot. If you do decide to dine-in, then there will be a lot of awkward scooting to accommodate patrons at other tables. Another downside? This place is on my way to the gym! bad move! haha

This is our neighborhood comfort food zone. The service is always fast and friendly and by now they all know us, so we don’t even need menus! Their pizza is to die for. We are low carbers so we usually don’t eat the crust, but when we do it is Heaven! My favorites are the Antipasta Salad and their homemade soups.

After reading all the bad reviews on Unilocal I still stopped by and gave Genovese’s a chance. That was a «horrible» idea, service was okay but food was just bad not smell and looked old. I tried the 12 piece wings they where so bad that I had to return them literally lost my appetite and left with out eating. My fiancé got the chicken Alfredo and my daughter got the kids spaghetti meal. Looked like they just microwaved it and tossed it together in about one minute horrible food will definitely never eat at Genovese’s in Alhambra ever again…

Once upon a time, I had leftovers from a great tasting pizza. Heading home, we stopped to get gas. While pumping gas, I was approached by a homeless man and decided to give him my leftovers, not realizing that it would be the last time I would ever enjoy that pizza… Not sure how many times the management has changed, but the quality of the food keeps getting worse and worse. Eventually, I think they will be defrosting pizzas straight out of the freezer section of the supermarket. If the crust is a dry and tasteless bread stick, should it even be called pizza? Good sauce and cheese are not enough to save it. Outdoor seating adds a nice atmosphere, but it’s difficult to flag down the wait staff to even get some napkins. If not for the waiter recommending the sausage and kale soup, I would not have left a tip at all.

If you’re looking for an affordable italian lunch or dinner, Genovese’s is the place to go. My boyfriend and I came here with his family where his sister announced her engagement. Yayyy! Anyways, there were seats outside and I believe there were seats inside as well. For food, my boyfriend and I got the dinner special for two which came with drinks(some beer & wine included), breadsticks, salad, spaghetti with ONE meatball, and a one-topping pizza. Nothing was super good but it wasn’t bad either. Spaghetti and meatball was average. The marinara sauce tasted as though it came from a jar, however, the meatball was good. As for the pizza, the crust was very«dough-y» if you know what I mean. I actually liked it! I love it when the crust is doughy. It was a lot of food. I believe it came out to about $ 12 – 15 a person(?) which I thought was a pretty good idea considering all that carbs that you got! I probably won’t be coming back but if you’re living in Alhambra, you should definitely come by for their cheap lunch specials.

This five stars is for Carina and her amazing costumer service skills — I would not go there if it wasn’t for her. The food Is a 3.5 star, mostly because of their lunch special…

Ya this place is a solid three stars. It looks super cute from the outside with lots of outdoor seating and typically, lots of people too. We got the pizza and spaghetti. The spaghetti tasted kind of like frozen food — doesn’t suck! But nothing particularly special. The pizza is very bready, as is most of their food, with thick dough and cheese and toppings that slid right off. The pizza tastes really fresh though, and again, didn’t suck. If you have to choose what to get here, go with the pizza over anything else. It takes about 20 – 25 minutes for them to make you one. There’s a parking lot in the back, but plenty of street parking around too. Lots of outdoor seating, which is good because the place is very tiny inside. Overall the place is kind of like your typical pizza place: reliably pretty good bread and cheese.

This is a great local spot for Italian food, always serving delicious salads, subs and pizzas. It’s too bad the service is extremely slow. They always have only one person doing everything — even when the place is packed. One time I ordered a pizza over the phone and they told me to pick it up in 45 minuets. I thought that was kind of long, but figured they were making it fresh and it would be worth the wait. When I got there I expected the order to be ready, but it was not — and I ended up having to sit inside the restaurant and wait 20 more minutes for the order to come out. I wouldn’t be sharing this particular story if it was just a fluke, but service here is often slow. Sometimes I find myself sitting at a table for a long period of time just waiting for someone to finally take my order. Never the less, the food is great and that’s what really keeps me coming back — when I have the patience of course.

I had high hopes for Genovese since I live just around the corner. I was hoping to make it our regular, go to place. Too bad. I was sorely disappointed not once but twice. 1. The first time this place let me down I phoned in an order. When I got there to pick it up they had no record of my order and of course did not have my food. It’s unfortunate that this happened at the end of a very bad week. I was upset. Amplified. 2. The second(and last) time my sister and I went for dinner. Hoping for some delicious buffalo wings I got, instead, gross soggy no-crisp wings. After I spoke to the waiter about alternate food options I learned that they don’t have fryers and most items on their menu are frozen. Since I obviously couldn’t order wings, I ordered a pizza and the crust was soggy, just like my wings. I love the outdoor seating, the cute size of the place, and the proximity to my house but the food quality is so poor. Sad, sad, sad.

I’ve been coming here for around six years, for the lunch special. Less than $ 7.00 for a tasty lunch, including soft drink, wine, or beer, can’t be beat. I recommend the sausage sandwich. Honestly, the service is slow, because there’s usually only one waitress, and everyone shows up for lunch around the same time. Come as soon after 11:00am as possible, or you’ll be sorry. This place is tiny and it gets jam packed every day. For the person who gave them a bad rating for not letting you block the aisle, inside the restaurant, with your baby stroller: Entitled much? As it is, there are too many tables crammed in a tiny space. You feel you should be able to block the aisle? Sit your butt at one of the outdoor tables, and problem is solved.
