Some of the comments about Dr. Chang, seen below, I can say are true. I saw him a few years ago. There usually is a long wait even with an appointment, and he does type a lot while talking to you. I had a great experience with him regardless though. I saw him for a sports injury. He was very professional and thorough with his explanations. He always answered my many questions. With medicine, I want to understand everything that I might have to know. I would say he is definitely an expert in his profession. I ended up needing to get surgery. Surgery can be a very scary thought, but he was extremely supportive. Again, he answered every question I had and reassured me. The follow up appointments post-surgery were very helpful too. He continued to see me to make sure everything was okay. One of my FAVORITE things about him though was he seemed to really care. He advocated for me and worked hard to make sure I could get the services that I needed. I would definitely recommend him, though you just have need patience with the wait to see him haha.

I have not been too happy with Dr. Jonathan Chang at Pacific Orthopedic Center. I was referred to him by David Huang, MD, doctor at same center because he was a sports medicine expert. Well, apparently, he won’t let you make an appointment with him until he decides when he wants to see you. So, after about a week, I finally get the sought-after appointment. The center is nice, and the facilities are pretty new. I arrive at my appointment a little early and waited almost an hour after my appointment until I finally got to see Dr. Chang. I must say the actual exam was not bad. He was pretty thorough and asked a lot of questions and typed a lot on the computer. However, he tends to explain everything in medical terms that not’s really understandable to the lay person. So, about a month after, I had a question for him. I left not one, but two messages for his medical assistant. No answer, no response, nothing, even though the message says they will try to return your message within 48 hours. I don’t know. From all the doctors I have seen, he’s just not worth it. If you are look for an orthopedic surgeon(non-sports injury), Dr. David Huang at the same clinic is much, much better. He was punctual with his appointment, thorough with the exam, and much better at explaning the problems.
