I’m really bummed to hear that Nancy’s closed! I grew up in a suburb of the windy city and this was the one local place that I could get legit Chicago style deep dish pizza. This was definitely no Giordano’s, but it was like a little slice of home for me. RIP, Nancy’s. :(

As a fan of Chicago pizza, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me but was overall still a good pizza. It’s nice having the option for deep dish nearby but for good Chicago pizza– you just have to go to Chicago. It’s a nice establishment with flat screens, clean tables and booths, and a wide variety on the menu. 5 stars for the customer service! Our waitress was very attentive and even flagged our car down to give me my little hand sanitizer I left on the table. The pizza takes time to bake – it’s deep dish so that’s expected! We waited about 25 minutes which wasn’t bad at all.

I like your pizza but feel deceived by your employees. A few months ago I was picking up a pizza and they asked for me to fill out a card asking for my email address and date of birth promising a FREE pizza on my birthday. I called them on my birthday and guess what –no FREE pizza. I feel disappointed and deceived. Not too cool guys. Follow-up… Thanks for making things right! You guys are back on my cool list. A happy customer.

Great place to get deep dish pizza. Don’t be shy, order the 2 ½ inch with whatever you like on it. It will be worth it. I highly recommend this place. People are very nice as well. Also, the cannoli is really good.

The best pizza in LA that no one has heard of. Nancy’s started in Chicago and just like Tony’s in Placentia, they also claim to be the«original inventors of the stuffed crust pizza.» Yeah, I don’t know about all that but for Chicago-style pies in LA, they’re better than Tony’s, Hollywood Pies and possibly even Masa. This is as authentic as it gets. Please, please, just don’t order their thin-crust. Not because it’s bad or anything. It probably isn’t. I just wouldn’t know because I’M NOTTHEIDIOTWHOVISITS A CHICAGO-STYLEPIZZAPLACEANDORDERSTHIN-CRUST!

I used a groupon for a 2.5″ stuffed pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. Chicago style deep dish is sorta like a pie — a layer of crust is placed in the pan then all the toppings and cheese, then another layer of crust, then some marinara. I don’t think I like Chicago style deep dish that much, and I’ve had a well-liked place in Berkeley called Zachary’s. This is comparable to that, albeit Zachary’s has a bit more in the flavor and sauce department. I found the price to be very expensive if I didn’t have the groupon, but you are paying for high quality cheese and toppings, though the toppings were a little skimpy.

Nancy’s Pizza turned out to be extremely underwhelming, to put it in nicer terms. I’ve not had many deep dish pizzas, but I’m almost positively certain there are better out there… I came here to use my sadly expired Groupon(originally could’ve gotten a deal paying $ 15 for $ 25). Street parking was plenty on a Saturday afternoon around 3PM as expected of the awesome Alhambra(where Chinese people live, there’s usually free parking) ==PRICING==(1⁄5 stars) We ordered a small Uncle Tony(2.5 inches), with an additional topping of mushroom added. The pricing is ridiculous, here’s the breakdown(also see picture of menu): 2.5 inch stuffed Small pizza base price is $ 15.60 for cheese only. Each additional ingredient is $ 1.60 extra. So, for Uncle Tony’s pizza, $ 15.60 +($ 1.60×4 toppings) = $ 22.00, plus my additional mushroom topping = $ 23.60, with tax came to around $ 26. Holy shit, $ 26 for a small sized pizza? I don’t care if you’re deep dish, that’s going off the deep end. ==FOOD==(3⁄5 stars) Upon taking the first bite, I knew I wouldn’t be making the trip back. The cheese was nice and gooey, but the filling was somehow watery tasting, not fulfilling. Also not the biggest fan of their crust — kind of doughy and not cooked long enough(personal preference). I DID like their freshmade cannoli though! Pretty tasty — fresh crisp, slightly crunchy cannoli shells with yummy creamy fillings… cannoli itself was a 4⁄5 stars. ==SERVICE==(2⁄5 stars) So if my groupon expired, it essentially means I’m not getting any deal out of it, right? But the cashier still refused to let me use my 10% off discount from checking in on Unilocal.Doesn’t make sense… I paid full price for my Groupon and used it without a discount. Don’t they usually have a rule«only one promotion allowed»? Whatever, not like I’ll be coming back for the mediocre pizza anyways. ==OVERALL==(2⁄5 stars) Nancy’s Pizza does not satisfy my pizza cravings. I will not be back for overpriced, mediocre pizza.

Incredibly overpriced. The menu only shows the price per topping, which is very inconvenient. The receipt does not show the breakdown of each topping, so you’ll have to calculate it yourself if you want to check or plan before ordering. It took so long to get our order; my boyfriend and I waited about 40 minutes for our half-and-half pizza and boneless wings. The service was great, but all the employees were young. We heard the employees talking loudly about their personal lives, cussing and such, the entire time we were waiting and eating there. Maybe they should install a door to cover the kitchen. The interior is pretty small. I disliked how they only had disposable utensils for you to use. I would not come back again.

LOVE their pizza! I’ve been a fan of Nancy’s Pizza for over 25 years, going back to when I lived in the suburbs of Chicago. Having lived here in Los Angeles for the last 16 years, good pizza is one of the main things that L.A. lacks! That is why I’m willing to drive 42 miles EACHWAY in order to get a delicious pizza from Nancy’s! The ONLY reason I can’t give them a 5-star review is their hours. Monday thru Thursday they don’t open until 3PM. Then even on the weekend they close at 9PM. What sort of pizza places closes at 9PM on a Friday or Saturday night? I’m sure I’d eat there more often if the hours were more convenient. Especially since I’m in the area around lunch time at least once a week, just ask the staff next door at Al’s!

The only thing better than stuffed crust pizza is Nancy’s Stuffed Pizza ! The cheese was stretching for milesssss !! We ordered the Large Meat pizza and it was better than I expected. Sauce was perfect-not to sour, just the right amount of tartness. For a family of 4(2 of whom are big eaters) the large stuffed pizza and 6 pc wings was more than enough. We had a slice left that no one was able to stuff down. We also has the Carolina wings and this flavor at have been the best I’ve tasted. The sweetness of the honey with the bite of the mustard was finger licking good(literally). Lots of free street parking but a few covered spaces in lot behind them.

I got one of those Living Social or Groupon(can’t remember which) for this place so decided to come here before it expires. We arrived at around 9:15 on a Friday. The place closes at 10, but when we got there, the store was empty of customers and staff was cleaning up. I thought they were closed. We wanted to try their stuffed crust pizza, but they said that they couldn’t make that because they had already turned off that oven(?), so we settled for a regular crust pizza. By the time we finished ordering, which was around 9:25, all chairs were put up and the floors was being mopped and swept, 35 minutes before their closing time. I guess the employees wanted to make sure that they leave by 10. Our pizza and pasta arrived in to go boxes. I guess that’s their way of letting us know that their seating area is close before their official closing time. What a way to ruin a Friday evening dining out experience! What we ended up doing was eating it another restaurant. Imagine that. I gave Nancy’s two stars because I thought the food was good. If I were to solely review this on their customer service, they would receive one star. If the store claims to close at 10, then they shouldn’t put all the chairs away prior to that time.

I’m picky about my deep dish pizza. The best deep dish pizza for me is in Northern California. I’m sure if I visit Chicago myself, my opinions might change but until then, NorCal by far takes the win for delicious deep dish pizza. Nancy’s Pizza opened up walking distance from my boyfriend’s place. I knew that I was going to try it eventually, but I just didn’t want to pay the steep prices. This is where Groupon came to the rescue. How can I turn down $ 9 for $ 25? That’s a bargain! We ordered a medium Uncle Tony(2.5 inches) for pick up. It came out to about $ 27. It comes with Italian sausage, pepperoni, green peppers and sautéed onions. It took about 20 minutes to make and pick up was a breeze. I was actually surprised by how small the pizza looked initially but 2.5 inches is pretty thick. Thankfully the dough was cooked through and the crust was nice. The problem came with the actual filling of the pizza it self. There was practically no sauce on the pizza! And it so desperately needed it. Nancy’s was also super skimpy on the toppings. Barely any sausages or green peppers on the pizza. The only thing that they were generous with was the cheese. We ate the pizza for two meals with some over baked chicken wings. Nancy’s Pizza was just okay in my opinion. I don’t think I would go back unless I got the same deal($ 11 for a pizza). Without the Groupon, it’s just really overpriced. I mean who doesn’t put enough pizza sauce? 3⁄5

2.5 stars The pizza is so expensive and not worth it in my opinion. You pay a base price for a cheese pizza and then you pay an additional charge for toppings. Chicken was charged as 2 toppings and we didn’t even get that many pieces of chicken. or any other ingredients except cheese! The pizza cost way too much. You can get a perfectly good pizza for a lower price elsewhere.

Just ordered pizza from here and recived it with half the toppings spilled over to one side. They didnt want to refund my money. Only gave me a 10 dollar store credit. They said they asked their driver and since he said it was fine, they wont refund my money. Update: they refunded me 10 dollars. Half the cost of pizza.

Ok ok here is my review on a Chicago pizza in Los Angeles. Weird but I had to try since its been forever since my friend brought me a Lou M. Pizza. Oh how i miss Chicago deep dish! Ok enough to about the OG deep dish. We ordered the Nana’s special with chicken. Boneless chicken Nancy’s BBQ and Memphis sweet. Both were good but I think I perfer my wings to have bone-in. I feel that boneless is more for salads. Now I know. We order just the regular spaghetti for the kids. The kids loved it of course. The pizza was very cheesy and the crust was not buttery like how Chicago is. The sauce is tangy sour type. It’s not bad. But it does need more chicken, mushroom and spinach. I barely tasted the ingredients in the pizza it was all cheese and tangy sauce. The seating area you will share with Al’s Italian Beef. It’s pretty big for both sides. They do have a outside seating but did not want to be outside. They serve you when your order is ready. They will only serve your food but other than that you will have to get your own water, soda, utensil, napkins, condiments and togo box. I did see some Al’s Italian beef workers and they actually took my plates when we was done. That was very nice of them. I’m sure they are partnered together. Will I come back. Yes to try Al’s Italian Beef and oh yeah Nancy’s Cannoli. It does say Fresh dessert made to order!

So I finally stopped by because let’s face it if I could come back in life it would probably be a pizza pie! This place is ok. Definitely not your fine dining establishment with food court style seating connecting two different restaurants. I mean roast beef and pizza? Anyway outside of the food court feel we tried Nancy’s thin crust pizza. Half A Lot of Meat and cheese pie. My wife got the fettuccine and some mozzarella sticks. They came out in plastic picnic wear and looked and tasted like microwave food. The mozzarella sticks were downright nasty. If just grading on that zero stars. The pizza pie is definitely not bad. The thin crust is tasty. Is it one of the better places in Alhambra and surrounding area. No. Will it do the trick if you don’t want the typical franchise pizza places? A resounding yes. Just order the pizza and skip all the other stuff on the menus and you will be happy.

I lik trying to find authentic foods, from different cities, states or countries in the LA area. So, inn this case, I ended up at Nancy’s Pizza, with a friend who hails from Chicago, to see what his opinion is; how it compares to pizza from his home town. Chi-Town. For starters, Nancy’s shares the dining area with Al’s Beef. Outdoor seating is available too, but just know it’s not covered or cordoned off with a barrier. It’s also right on Main Street. Lots of traffic and noise. Like other Chicago style pizza restaurants, it takes time. I don’t know how long it was but it definitely wasn’t fast. It also wasn’t so long that I was constantly checking the time. As for the pie, like I already mentioned, I enjoyed it. I ate several pieces and probably more than I should have. I enjoyed how you have the different toppings with each bite. Lots of cheese and the crust, was flaky on the outside, but a doughy hint inside. I enjoyed it enough that I didn’t use any red pepper flakes or Parmesan cheese for added flavor. Can’t really comment on the service. You order and they bring your order to you. No table service. The dining area is kept very clean and it seems most of their business is to go.

I thought this place was decent, but felt a bit weirded out that there wasn’t much people when I went. I guess it’s always great to spend some quality time by yourself and enjoy a pizza. Entertainment: They have flat screen tv’s along the walls to watch sporting events. I also notice that AT&T cellphone carriers don’t really have reception here. Not sure about other carriers. Location: Located next door to Al’s Italian Beef. Seating: Plenty of seats and tables that are shared with Al’s Italian Beef. Service: I thought the service was alright. Staffers were friendly and had some good suggestions to be tried here. I ended up getting the small original thin crust. After paying in the front and recieving your order, the service stops there The only downfall is that it takes 15 to 20 minutes for the pizza to be ready. Costs: $ 8.10 for cheese only and additional topping: $ 1.60 each. for a small original thin crust. Pizza: I got the small Original Thin Crust pizza that is 10′. For the toppings, I did the half and half option where you can choose two toppings(italian sausage and pineapple). One topping on one side and the other topping on the other. The pizza’s are cut into squares instead of the traditional way. I actually liked it that way and the pizza wasn’t that greasy Tip: Take each square and layer on the chili peppers and parmesan cheese and enjoy! Will give it another try.

Compared to other Chicago deep dish pizza… no, this does not stack up, but for pizza in general, I enjoyed Nancy’s Pizza. I’m glad there is at least an option for a different style of pizza in this area. Seating area is shared with Al’s, and it was pretty packed on a Friday night. I shared a small 1 ½″ with a friend. Our pizza took 20+ minutes to come out, which was as expected. We were only given plastic utensils, and it got kind of difficult to cut into the pizza, especially since the crust was on the hard side. Our toppings seemed sparse as well, but I did like it and plan to return. Unrelated note: Fung Bros were also there when I went

After discovering that Nancy’s pizza had finally opened in Alhambra, I passed on my usual Dominos take out over the weekend for some Chicago style deep dish pizza. Verdict… it was actually pretty good. Though not quite Chicago or Masa in Echo Park quality, it was darn close and fantastic. The restaurant is located on the corner of Main/4th St. next to Al’s Italian Beef where they share the same dining space and are located on opposite ends of the room. Atmosphere is casual, family oriented and décor is colorful. I ordered a small all meat 1 ½ inch size stuffed pizza($ 18). A bit pricey for the size, but at least portions were big enough for two people to share. The 20% special offer on all stuffed pizza was a sweet deal and made my visit reasonably appealing. It took about 30 – 40 minutes to get my pizza. Other than the crust, the sauce and toppings were on point. The texture of the dough was slightly chewy and didn’t have the crisp corn meal quality crust, but it was still delicious. The sauce was nice, sweet and zesty, with a little hint of spice. I usually eat deep dish pizzas with a knife and fork. Surprisingly, I was able to pick up a slice without getting too messy. In addition to pizza, I got rigatoni arrabiata pasta and salad as well. The salads were ridiculously awesome and huge. It was served in a deep dish«bread». The ingredients were super fresh and house dressing was amazing. I love the house balsamic vinaigrette. Their pasta portions were kind of small but really good, made to order and fresh. All in all, I enjoyed my visit to Nancy’s. Solid pizza and friendly service. It’s a good change of pace from other spots and perfect for Alhambra’s diverse food culture. Ciao! Parking — Garage in back, but limited. If full try, parking garage on 5th or 6th street.
