This place was really good. The beef stew noodles here is my favorite. Too bad it is closed.

The night started off really cool. You would never guess how tropical it looks inside by observing the outside. Pitchers of beer are cheap and I had tofu chow mein that was really good! It wasn’t greasy or heavy. Things went a little downhill when we wanted to pay and they surprised us with not accepting credit/debit cards. Its a big freakn restaurant come on now! So my husband had to walk a couple blocks to find an atm. During the time he was gone, DRAMA! I couldn’t believe that a big dude pushed his toothpick girlfriend to the ground! In the restaurant! and even more disturbing, the staff turned the other way immediately. only her girlfriends went to check on her. There was not a man in the room apparently. Soo by that time my husband came back, we quickly paid, made sure girlfriend didn’t want us to call the cops, and jammed outta there!

This place is a little hidden and you really can’t tell what it is from the front doors. I used to think this place was like one of those shady fronts for something else ;) we are in Alhambra after all… Anyway, I found out it’s just another Taiwanese beer house but I like it better than Indian Restaurant cuz of: –2 for 1 beer pitchers –not as hot and stuffy inside like Indian(since it’s not as packed) –easy parking –fried chicken with basil!!! –cute friendly waitresses The crowd is usually pretty fobby and many of them can’t sing on the open karaōke machine but what do you expect? Not everyone in this world is Mariah Carey…

This place is horrible, none of the waitresses speak a ounce of english… only mandarin. Waited over thirty minutes for my food but never arrived, eveb though this place was not even busy. They ended up forgetting my order. Payed for my drinks and left. Worst service ever! I don’t recommend this place if you think service is a must for a restaraunt. The only good side of this place is the happy hou. Buy a pitcher get one free.

So I came in here with some friends craving for some Taiwanese noodles when we were greeted by the blaring gangster rap from the speakers. We found that to be pretty awkward but we just laughed it off. The place still looked the same from when it was still under the name Amazon or Cotton Candy. It had this jungle-like theme to it with wooden furniture all around. It looks like they have added posters of half naked guys and girls in bikinis all over the walls since the last time I came which I thought was pretty tacky. So we got seated and put in our orders for our food and beer. It was about 10 $ for 2 pitchers of Amber Bock since it was buy one get one free which wasn’t bad at all. They served us little bowls of kim chi and steamed peanuts. They came around again a short while later with a tray and offered us some more appetizers. We got a little bowl of cold beef to snack on while we waited. We got our pitchers of beer and didn’t receive any attention from any of the other workers after that. We had to endure about half an hour of 2pac’s greatest hits where we could barely even hear each other talk and we still didn’t get our food! So we wave down one of the waitresses and tell her the situation. We then find out that she doesn’t even speak English! only Mandarin. So we go up to the front and try to talk to someone but we have trouble because they can barely speak English either. How the hell are you gonna run a business and have no one fluent in English around? We then find out that they never even put our order in! So now we just want to pay for our beer and get the hell out of there. We then see that they charged us $ 10 for the measly little bowl of beef. Wtf? Seriously? Ridiculous. So we just paid for it and vowed never to come back ever again. The ambiance was ruined with the deafening rap music and that was by far the worst service I have ever had in my whole life. The only good thing about this place is the cheap beer but I don’t see myself coming back here just for that. I’d rather go to one of the other Taiwanese beer houses in the area for that any day.

I come here mainly for the cheap beer. 2 for 1 pitchers is a steal. The first time I was there the karaōke was really loud and pretty hilarious(terrible singers, including some from our party). But the second time they really turned it down. This place is separated by two sections. The front is quieter and has TVs with sports events on and the back has the karaōke. It’s too bad that this place isn’t very popular. There were only two tables occupied in the entire place on a Saturday night.

This bar would have been better if it weren’t for the karaokers — seriously, if you can’t sing, please go rent a private room to belt out your tuneless screeches. We don’t need our ear drums busted because of you, thanks. Other than that, no a bad bar. Food is good and relatively inexpensive, cheap beer, plenty of seats, nice décor. They have dice if you want to play games. Overall a nice place to chill with friends. Just make sure you go when karaōke is not an option. Or bring a friend who can really sing to shut those other people up.

The food is ok. The atmosphere is really unique, it reminds me of a cross between a rain forest, a hawaiian bbq, Gilligan’s Island. The minus stars are for people that sing karaōke and can’t sing. This place is nice to drink at if it weren’t for the headache that’s hurts more from listening bad singers on max volume than the worse hangover from drinking too much.

My last review featured 4 stars because the food– while good– wasn’t great in my opinion– Well I went again and this time I ordered the Squid with Basil. MmmHhhmmm GOOD! The chicken wings were also much better this time than the last time I went. This place now officially has everything I want. Music, Dancing, Cool Props, Cool Lights, And Good food! It’s very friendly and fun. I went in after a very bad day– feeling not so good– and left feeling GREAT. It’s so good to have a place to go that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

went here because we wanted free cotton candy. discovered when we received the menus that cotton candy no longer existed and was now called q bar. pitchers of kirin or coors light were buy 1 get 1 free making it about 4.50 a pitcher. realized at the end of the night after 6 pitchers that we weren’t going to be getting free cotton candy. cheap beer gives this place 4 stars, but wasn’t busy at all for a saturday night.
