Came here during happy hour and it was only $ 6.50 for preserved vegetable duck rice noodle soup雪菜火鸭丝汤面 and a beverage. Definitely worth trying. The stir fried pea sprout with garlic and chicken were also pretty good too. I eat here often because I always leave feeling full and satisfied. However, the egg puffs here are a bit too soft for me

First time here. A lot of choices and food tastes better than general. This place is full of people, which is a good sign to me.

Does not taste as good as it used to be. Things have changed over the years. They must have changed the cook. It seems to losing a lot of customers, was very packed, not anymore.

My go-to place for Chinese food. I was back home and my friends took me here. Salt and pepper pork chop is a must. The eggplant is solid too. The sauteed string beans is another good option. And the salted fried rice is delicious. All served family style so don’t come here alone unless you really want to have leftovers, which is always good too. Get the Lemon Iced Tea. Free refills on it too. Trust me.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants to come to with my family. The service has gone down dramatically, food comes out slower and it just isn’t the same as before. My mom and I came in for lunch and had waited about 30 minutes with no food dishes coming out where as all the other tables that came after us had their food. The waitress forgot to put our order in! They told us to wait 15 minutes as they’ll put our order in as priority. We waited and still nothing — they forgot again! My mom was so frustrated that we just got up and left. Ever since then I’ve never really had a liking to this place anymore. I don’t know whether the management changed or something but this location sucks now.

Came here at 10pm on a Saturday. Honestly, I expected more compared to the one located in Arcadia. We ordered the Beef Chow Fun and Minced Beef over fried rice. It was soooo salty! Then to rinse down the salty food, their water tastes like Faucet Water– Tap water is better. Then after sitting there for 10minutes after the waitress took our check and payment, she didn’t return to return our change. Annoyed, and won’t be back. So disappointed.

I give this place a 3.5 star. The flavor of the dishes have gone down. It has been awhile since I have returned to this Tasty Garden. I usually go to the one in Atlantic Times Square so either my tastes buds are craving for more savory or I ordered the wrong stuff. I ordered the Fish with corn sauce on top and that was extremely bland. The Kong Xin Cai 空心菜(Water Spinach) was hard to eat and also flavorless. The color of the veggies weren’t very green and appetizing. Could it be seasonal? The best thing we got was the French style filet mignon cubes. Those are usually good everywhere. One thing I love about Hong Kong café’s are the Lemon teas. The Hong Kong style tea is sweet and has a strong tea flavor. With free refills, I drink like 2 – 3 cups when I am at the restaurants. Tasty Garden has one of the best in my opinion. It comes in a to-go cup. So just get a refill before you leave. There is a shared parking lot behind the restaurant and they are open late.

Consider Tasty Garden as an upgrade from all the cafes in the 626 area; while serving portions that can feed a family or an individual person. I’ve been coming to this location since it opened and my experience has always been positive. They have an extensive menu that is similar to cafes, but offers other plates that are generally found in restaurants. Depending on your mood, you can choose from entrees such as wonton noodle soup, fried rice, porridge, fried noodles. On the other hand if you prefer family style, there is your typical walnut shrimp, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, and others that go well with a bowl of white rice. My favorite is their sweet and sour pork; they give generous portions and it’s simply amazing when paired with a vegetable plate and rice. For those looking for a simpler meal, the wonton noodle soup will do the job; its not overly salty like the café version and they actually wrap the wontons themelves. However, the drinks are similar to those found in cafes, so nothing amazing, but you do get free refills on milk teas and ice teas. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone that is tired of your typical café food and looking for an upgrade in quality. Out of the several Tasty Gardens in the area, this one is the best and you can definitely taste the difference. Time to pick up those chop sticks or forks and dive in!

GIVINGTHISPLACE3.5 Stars Pros: Open really late(til about 4AM), Food is pretty good, drinks are unlimited refils(Even the Thai tea), the Mango Cheese Baked Sole is bomb Cons: Service can be a bit lacking at times, parking is in the basement, which can get hectic.

This was suppose to be the best kitchen of the six locations. I have been to five of the six. Like most things in life… it is all hypes… I ordered the garlic clams. This dish is made famous by another local Chinese restaurant about fifteen years ago – under name of garlic crab – same cooking technique with different seafood. The key to this dish is the garlic. It has to be freshly made each day and deep fries in new oils – no short cut here. The garlic has to be sand like in size and crispy and lightly golden in color. This kitchen gets a «F» for its garlic. The clam is cooked just right, so it is soft, fresh and juicy, but the garlic is the star. So it is like a movie where the star gives a very poor performance, and the supporting actor get nominated for an Oscar. There is an empty feeling inside after witnessing a performance like this. Well, that is my review. One thumb down for Garlic Clam at Alhambra Tasty Garden. =(

Came here today and ordered the sweet and sour fish fillet and the ham egg sandwich. The fish in the sweet and sour fish fillet is definitely old and not fresh to serve. It has a very strong fishy smell even after they battered it and deep fried and all that sweet and sour sauce i could still taste the fishiness. 0 stars. The ham and egg sandwich took forever and when it came out, the fries were cold and the toaste on the sandwich was no longer hot. 2 stars. Service…ummm there was none. Girl was rude. Only the bus boy guy i believe was nice. Other 2 girl servers were just mia… this tasty garden is terrible. And yes i gave $ 0 for tip. WORKFORYOURTIP! Wont be back…

I love tasty garden! Good, affordable, authentic chinese food around 626 area! Came here on a Saturday night with my parents after going to the SG festival. It wasn’t packed at all. Plenty of seats available. Loved the new modeled looks, makes it look more modern. Food was very good! Enjoyed every dish! Have to try the orange chicken from here! So crispy and good! One of our Unilocal friend recommended getting this dish and so glad we ordered it! I saw another table next to us ordered it also.

Tasty Garden you are fast and convenient. Yesterday we ordered beef udon with xo sauce, honey walnut shrimp, and salt pepper shrimp. Everything was edible but nothing wowed me. Typical Chinese café food. Loved the fast amazing service they provided though.

I consider this comfort food. The offerings are nostalgic for any Chinese American kid who grew up in a traditional Chinese household. Some highlights include the fried garlic fried rice, wings, gai lan(Chinese broccoli), xo chow fun, black bean spareribs, and the clay pot rice dishes. Really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu if you like Hong Kong style cafes. Clean place and the parking structure is in the back. Open until 1 am on Saturdays.

My friends decided to come here for dinner since it was close to my work and I end the latest of all of us. They all got to the restaurant before me, which means I did not have to wait long after I got there for our group to be seated. Parking is pretty easy since there is garage parking available in the back. Street parking is always an option as well. I’m not sure how bad the wait for dinner here normally but I don’t think my friends came THAT much earlier than me… The venue is pretty large and they have a lot of tables, but they are very popular so I would always anticipate at least a little bit of a wait time when coming here. For food, we ordered the following: – Walnut Shrimp(with walnuts served on the side) – Garlic Snow Pea Tips – Filet Mignon Cubes – Fried Tofu with Shitaki Mushrooms – Hosue Special Hot Pot Rice Everything is pretty much comfort food and everyone enjoyed the meal. I’m probably the pickiest eater and I did not care for the pea tips or the fried tofu dish, but I also don’t like pea tips or mushrooms so I would have never ordered these dishes on my own(we shared everything family style). The rice was pretty good though and the filet mignon was not bad. My favourite dish was the walnut shrimp – that sauce plus the shrimp is so good! Thank goodness they can just take the walnuts out so I can eat it :) Since they were busy, service was slow and we had to actively try to flag down a server a couple of times. But apart from that we had an enjoyable meal with good friends and conversation. I personally would try not to come here without a Chinese person, however, because it seems like the staff’s English is quite limited… so good thing one person in our group is Chinese! Their menu is pretty extensive so I would like to come back and try more items… as long as I have a Chinese person with me ;) Really more like 3.5 stars than 4 but I’ll round up since I did really like that walnut shrimp…

My family and I still dig this place for lunch or dinner time. Though the dinner prices are a bit more expensive. Nonetheless, an oldie, but a goodie :) They updated their menu book. It’s like a picture book instead, which is great so that you can see what you’re ordering, noice! Also, love that their drinks are refillable and are give in to go cups, yay! Even though they’re a C rating, but I still dig it here! :)

I have to say that Tasty Garden is still one my favorite«cafes» in the SGV. It has all of the dishes you can find at other cafes but it also has unique dishes that I think are cooked better here than other places. They are known for their walnut shrimp but unfortunately, I have yet to try this dish even though I come here regularly. The dishes I usually order are the hot pot rices(the one with Chinese Sausage is still my favorite), the Ma Po Tofu, and one of the many hot pot dishes(without the rice). The Ma Po Tofu is very flavorful and is a mix of spice with savory. It is a huge portion and goes great with a bowl of rice. The other hot pot dishes are also great because the dish stays warm throughout the meal. Also great are the chow mein and chow fun. I feel like I’m listing everything on the menu but it’s completely true. You can’t really go wrong with most of the dishes on the menu. They are also famous for their Hong Kong waffle. It is a great appetizer. A bit sweet so I actually like to mix it with some of the savory sauces to get the sweet and savory combo. This place can get busy on the weekends so try to come early but the lines move relatively fast and it isn’t as crowded anymore since they enlarged the seating area. The servers are pretty attentive; some are more attentive than others. The prices are average; a bit more expensive that other places but I think the extra cost is worth it.

Hands down one of my favorite legit Chinese restaurants to date. If I’m starving, the thought of tasty garden can awaken my innermost fantasies. Before I reveal too much of my weird food-obsessed side let’s get to the points: –Decent size but gets super congested on the weekends(to be expected) but wait is never too long! :) –Service is quick and swift, definitely a hundred times better hospitality than Atlantic Times Square location(I would avoid that location altogether unless you have a headache fetish and enjoy the thought of placing your money in the shredder). –Broad menu options is a highlight of this place(menu is HUGE), pretty much all of the most popular Chinese dishes are available. Not feelin’ Chinese? They have Western-style food too which tbh I have not tried(I come to a Chinese place for Chinese food haha), but they look pretty good! I’ll have to try it one day and update this. –Plenty of parking! WOOOOO this is basically worth a whole star. –NOWTHEFOOD. Pretty much can’t go wrong with the Chinese food here, in particular I LOVE the shrimp egg chao hor noodles(this is super delicious get this and I promise you won’t be disappointed!), fish slices and veggies, fish slices with black bean sauce, beef chao hor noodles, the clam dish(I can’t remember exact name but it’s a buncha clams cooked in this dark bomb@ sauce), thousand egg porridge. These are some of my favorites and yeah I should really explore more menu items but I can’t help ordering the same things. :/OH YEAH their white rice smells soooo good! :O –The Hong Kong-style milk tea is soooooooooooooooo fire! Hot or cold doesn’t matter this tastes amazing and the caffeine rush is ridiculous so be careful about them free refills(yup it’s FREE refills, a blessing and sin). I’m not kidding, I get jittery and usually can’t sleep at night after this(I’m not sensitive to coffee at all and usually have no problem sleeping after drinking). Overall, quick service get in get out full and satisfied. Broad menu options make it a one stop shop. Drinks, food, desserts they have it all. I usually leave here feeling like a pufferfish but I have no regrets.

Whenever my friends and I head onto SoCal for some weekend fun, we always stop by Tasty Garden the night we arrived for some late night grubs. We always order: Preserved meats clay pot rice Ong Choy w/bean curd My two favorite dishes! It’s deliciously yummy! The clay pot rice does take a bit to come out because they’re making it. Hmmm. Then sometimes, we’d order a noodle dish such as: Singaporean noodles or beef chow fun. I also typically order a lemon ice tea! Sweet tea with a lemon for you to crush! Plus, the tea is unlimited refills. They typically use a to-go cup for the drink so once you’re done with eating, you could refill it, and take it with you! Food is always on point here — at least the ones we order. Consistency is good as well. Service is okay. Not horrible yet not great. Definitely a great place to grab a bite. I wish they had one of these in Vegas haha!
