About three years ago, I stopped by Zoom Optician looking for a pair of frames to replace the horrible cheap looking frames I purchased at JcPenny the year before(avoid those cheap deals JcPenny Optical runs each month… truly you get what you pay for). I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking but came in here with an open mind(you have to try on the frames first before just judging them in the display case). David and Su were very helpful in assisting me picking new frames and giving me their honest opinion of what they thought of the different frames being on my face. They understood what I was looking for and also explained to me that Asian people lack the nose bridge that Caucasians have, thus explaining why my glasses frames always gradually slipping off my nose(this only happens when I wear the plastic frames and not when I wear the metal frames with those nose pads). I didn’t even realize that I lacked a nose bridge and just thought there was just something wrong with my glasses and face this whole time(friends and co workers who are not Asian who pointed out that I needed to get my glasses adjusted made me think it was just my glasses :/…) After making my decision on my frames, I came back a week later to pick up my new glasses with new lenses. Since then, I have also purchased reading glasses as well and my mother has also purchased a few frames as well. I regret that I did not come by here this past summer when I purchased a new pair of glasses at an optometry store closer to my house. I had so much trouble with the frames and lenses after picking up them up. There were some scratches on my brand new lenses and so forth and had to get them replaced twice(yep not just once but twice). And during that whole time, I kept telling my husband that I should have just came out to Zoo Optician in the first place to avoid all of this hassle and so I will definitely do that next time. David and Su are quite friendly and speak English and Mandarin so I am sure you will have no problem in being served here. They had a great selection of frames to try on and choose from. All of which are of a price range for any budget. But I do want to mention that higher priced frames will probably be more durable and probably a bit more fashionable(again, you get what you pay for). By the way, this place is located in a small plaza(located really close to a small hair salon) that is right across from the plaza with Lollicup Fresh and Garden Café. If you are unable to find parking in the tiny lot, you could always park on the street.

If i could give them 0 stars, I would. Not because they have bad service or anything but simply because they are way too overpriced for their stuff. I don’t recommend coming here unless you got your insurance covering everything. I try to get the 1 day acuve moist with the 90 packs. Guess how much they sells it for? $ 120 wth is wrong with that? I know another place sells it for $ 70 amd i think its expensive. I know the cheapest online price is around $ 50. Unreasonable price! Watch out guys!!!

I got a pair of oakley transition glasses from them. Transitions were covered with my insurance and I specifically asked them to put them on. When I received my glasses 2 weeks later they did not contain them. So they agreed to make the lenses transitions and that I would need to wait 1 hour for them. When I got them they shinned a purple light and they got dark. I was satisfied until 6 months later they use a transitions COATSTICKER instead of having the lens change color. That COATSTICKER is coming off. Some cheap work around to charge you for transitions will giving you a cheap subsitute TAPE. When I confronted the girl who was supposed to put on the lenses(some assistant manager) she DENIED the whole thing. My god, you are the one working at a job where you don’t need an education. Please don’t go here they charge you a premium and give you cheap subsitutes probably made in China. Right now the outer rim of both my glasses have the transitions coat peeling off. I’ve warned you.

Great store with a variety of frames. The owners spent time with us and gave us a lot of good ideas of what types of frames would fit me. They were nice, knowledgeable and energetic. I ended up getting a nice pair of glasses at a great price. Would highly recommend checking them out if your in need of some new eyewear.

Ran by honest people who are patient and very willing to help. The owners were able to help me find frames that I love. They were also very patient in explaining what kind of lenses I was prescribed. Over a year later, I’m still loving my glasses and can’t believe that they are still in nearly pristine condition.(I’m really good at breaking things and have been through my fair share of glasses from other locations.) With my fancier than usual glasses, I was still charged a surprisingly lower price than I would elsewhere. Furthermore, parking has never been a problem with they private lot and easy street parking. With their large glasses selection, stellar customer service, and very fair prices, I highly recommend Zoom Optician. *Bilingual– Mandarin and English speaking a plus.

This is an awesome place to get your glasses. My review is biased though because I’ve known the people who run this place most of my life. I usually always come here to get sunglasses or glasses because they are really friendly and laid back. They dont mind if you take time to try on things and ask questions. If something breaks or I need a quick fix of something, I can always count on them to help me out with it. =) It conveniently has a eye check up place next door also, but I dont go to it. If they like you, they might give you a good deal. Oh ya, you can custom order stuff from them if you dont see what you like and they are really good about putting in the orders for you. And they are super down to earth. They dont try to hassle you to buy the most expensive thing. One time I was going to buy a 300 dollar pair and they told me why spend all that money when I can buy a comparable one in style and pay only 150? Ask for David.
