I’ve been eating at Harold’s Inn since moving to Beaver County in 1983. It’s had it’s ups and downs throughout the years, but it’s always been good. The wings are awesome and the best thing is that the food is consistant. A newer menu item is the Honey Chipolte Chicken. It’s really, really good. The staff is usually good and they don’t get bent out of shape if you ask for something special or for things like extra dipping sauce or salad dressing. Everything they make has flavor to it. I love this place! The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the margaritas are way too small. They are a two gulp drink when everyone else is serving a nice sized drink. If you haven’t eaten here, stop in. You won’t be disappointed in the food.

Harolds will forever be in my heart as my favorite place for some tastey fried chicken. I’ve probably ordered takeout and ate in at this place over 100 times in my lifetime and I’ve never been disappointed. This trip was just a casual dinner with the parents. The service was phenomenal! Out waitress was on point the entire evening. Be sure to check this place out every season. They have excellent seasonal dishes and drinks. I had one of the winter brew specials, I believe it was called the Mad Elf Dark Ale. For being dark, it did have a refreshing light taste. I tried the garlic chicken sandwich with, of course, their famous taters. The sandwich was super favorful and filling. The bread was a little soggy on the bottom, but that didn’t bother me too much. The taters this evening were killer! Prefectly seasoned and cripsy! I’ve had my fair share of over seasoned and not so crispy taters in the past, but these ones rocked!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve gone there many many times. I’ve never once had a bad meal. They are a little pricier than you’d expect for a local restaurant but worth it in my opinion. My favorite dish is the mesquite grilled chicken breast duo. Its like $ 12 and served with seasoned fries(but you can also choose unseasoned or their famous house taters). You also get a salad or homemade soup. My son loves soups, orders them every where he goes. He said this place makes the best wedding soup. They seem to have a high turnover rate on their wait staff, not sure why that is, but I notice new faces every time I go there. Their wait staff seems really good, imo. Always very attentive and check in sufficiently to see if we need anything else or a refill. Their management seems on point, always coming around to tables, checking on our food and if there’s anything we need. If you go on the weekends in the evening it can be really crowded. They have a separate bar area, which is also crowded during certain sports events. It’s nice though to have the option of a cocktail or wine/beer with your meal. Should also mention they offer a nice, affordable, kids menu with about 8 — 10 different options. My youngest son loves their kiddie ribs(probably the most pricey of the options — like $ 7) but the other options are like $ 3-$ 4 for things like burgers, chicken strips, spaghetti etc. Also, on holidays, they usually take reservations. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in a good meal.

I had a some type of seafood platter. Everything was luke warm barely. The fish was so small for the price of the entire entrée. Husband had the chicken parm(substituting red sauce for alfredo). He said his was great and you could see the steam come out of his chicken when it was sliced.

Salt! Salt! Salt! If you’re looking for the salt, you don’t have to go as far as Margaritaville; simply stop by Harold’s Inn in Hopewell Township! Upon moving to the area, several people recommended the local favorite. Boy was I disappointed! As a new customer signed up for mailings, we received a FREE appetizer. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip. OK — salty pita bread and salty spinach artichoke dip isn’t the worst thing in the world. Surely they couldn’t mess up the chicken salad I ordered for lunch. Wrong. Salty«taters» and overly seasoned chicken took over my meal. Living only a few miles away, the hubster and I have considered stopping by since our first experience. Just the thought makes me feel thirsty, bloated, and clogged. We promise to give it another chance sometime soon, but until then… I do not recommend Harold’s Inn!

Had a great late lunch here. Dan was our server, and after experiencing some pretty bad service in the area, we were very happy to see good servers do exist. He was intelligent, attentive, informative, and not annoying. Kudos Dan. I had the wedding soup. It was very flavorful and you could tell was freshly made. We both got the mahi mahi tacos and they were AWESOME! Tons of fish, fresh cabbage for crunch, creamy avocado, and I’m pretty sure the tortilla were homemade. AND they of course came with a hefty side of taters and coleslaw. Tons of food, it was all delicious, and great service for about $ 30. What’s not to like?!

So I picked up a bucket of chicken for my family. Of course, it doesn’t come in a bucket anymore. Anyway, I got a 15 piece. It comes with rolls, cole slaw, taters and, of course, the chicken. It is super salty but it was yummy. I called and picked it up 20 minutes later. Perfect timing. You are to pick up the take out orders at the bar and the bartender was so friendly. Like I said, the mountain seasoning is salty but I do like it. It is my favorite chicken in the Burgh!

Harold’s is a neighborhood restaurant that has a spot in my heart, as its one of my family’s go-to places for a solid meal. The portions are always large. For the amount of food that you’re getting, the price is more than fair. To anyone one who says the food isn’t good, I’d encourage you to try the lemon Parmesan chicken because it’s amazing. :)

Service was super. Salads were excellent. Appetizer was hot and tasty. The entrees were pretty bad. She had chicken. I had pasta. Chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. Meatballs were tasteless. Sausage was grilled and dry as sand. Definitely not Italian. Further, the table they seated us at was only as wide as my forearm and against the wall making the actual act of eating awkward and difficult. Think eating on an airline tray table. Squeezing every inch out of the floor space is probably good for business, but it’s uncomfortable for patrons.

We gave them a second chance and got burned twice. Really bad food and I’m not hard to please. The fish sandwich was not good at all. The second time I got a steak sandwich that had meat like a Steak-umm that was black and crunchy. Never again. I don’t know how they stay open. It must be because there is hardly anything in Hopewell.

Went here this month and brought entire family… excellent food, fresh, and great service. Large selection of food, beverages, and desserts. I would highly recommend this place for any occasion. When in Hopewell, go to Harold’s and eat… you will be glad you did!

The food could be better. I’ve been here a few times and it keeps getting worse. The last time I was there was in 2009 and I found a hair in my food. The service there is not nice either. When I was there, and I still hear this, the service acts like they do not want to be bothered. There are plenty of other places to eat and you will get better food and better service

The reviews of this place, when taken as a whole, got it just right. That is to say, depending on what you order or when you go, you could have either an amazing time or a «never go back» experience. For me, there’s something of a throwback feel to Harold’s. It reminds me of going to dinner with my folks twenty years ago. Not many places still bring rolls and salad with every dinner. Yes, the interior is out of date, and the food isn’t gourmet. However, Harold’s is worth a shot, because you could wind up having a great meal and a walk down memory lane. Or maybe you’ll never go back, what do I know?

I’ve been here 4 – 5 times and always end up saying I’ll give it another shot. But this was my last time. Service is fine but the food just sucks. Everything is fried and coated copious amounts of season salt then called mountain style. One of my sides were mashed potatoes so old and stale I actually spit them out. I really want to like this place but thats enough repeat bad experiences for anyone.

Yea its saturday night. You would think if you order a salad you would get dressing after you ordered it and they bring your salad. To bussy. Lets see how the food tastes. So far service. Was not GOOD. Do not get me rong. She was nice. How many times should I hear«I’m sorry» she also seemed way to busy to take time. All in all. The food was good. Pricey. But good.

Like a lot of reviewers, I have been going here for years, so maybe I see something others don’t…or wish for a previous time. I’ve always had amazing service and great food. I get the fried veggie platter, sometimes a salad, and the chicken and taters. They have great coleslaw, and my taters are sometimes crispy and sometimes soggy, but I don’t live in the area so it all tastes great to me. I really love the seasoning they use. Their special Harold’s seasoning is an amazing blend and something dear to me. I agree that the interior is old, maybe they don’t get to the point where they need Restaurant: Impossible, but a makeover wouldn’t hurt. I know and love the owners, so I’d love to see this place thrive!

Overall review(Bad, OK, Good): Food = OK; Service = Good; Ambience = OK Food: In general, it was a step up from diner fare. It wasn’t horrible, it was exceptional, it rode in the middle. The table ordered fried chicken livers to start — they were good, tasted as how livers(of any type) usually tastes. I ordered the 4oz Princess cut steak w/taters and cole slaw. It was cooked as requested but bland, like the meat was cooked w/no seasoning. However, the meat wasn’t tough and tasted good — a little steak sauce should do the trick! Cole slaw was your typical cole slaw, nothing fancy. The taters had a good seasoning on top. Service: Attentive — the waitress was very friendly and nice. She didn’t rush us to order. I didn’t know what I wanted yet when my turn came so she told me to take my time and she’ll return. The waters/sodas were filled/refilled before it reached the point of empty. Ambience: Has and old times charm to the place. There is outdoor seating under an awning during the nice-weather months.

This is a Beaver County staple! And its the taters that give it the great name! My family started taking me here when I was a wee lass. I’ve not actually been here for a few years, but now thinking of it, next time I visit home, it will be my one request to my family. I want Harold’s taters!
