Top Shelf Liquors

I don’t party much, but when I do, I come here for all of my needs! This place has some of the best liquor prices around! And if there’s something in particular that you want, and it’s not in stock, they will order it for you! The guys that work here are super friendly and always helpful, they have a wide selection of beer, wine, and various other liquor and spirits. Everything is arranged and sorted to make it easy to find, this should be everyone’s go to stop!

This store has a good selection of liquor. Until today I would stop by whenever I was in the area and buy anything interesting they had.
After today I can honestly say I don’t know if I will ever step foot in this establishment again. I called to inquire if they had any bottles of a limited release in stock, which they did. After a series of 3 different phone calls and two separate employees (The owner was off for the day, so maybe he wasn’t aware of the price gouging) I was quoted a price that was $ 110 ABOVE state minimum, almost TRIPLE the state minimum price!
While other stores had sold their allotment for state minimum or $ 10 – 20 above, Top Shelf decided to price gouge it’s customers for the sake of short term profit.
I understand the concept of supply and demand and they are within their right to price gouge as they are doing, but goodwill and public image is also a currency, and Imho they traded some short term profit for long term losses of the latter.

Good selection, rude staff. Prices were pretty good. But it just wasn’t a good experience the three times I’ve been there for more then a redbull.

Top Shelf has an EXPANSIVE selection of every type of liquor. I’d imagine this would be the first place to check for hard-​to-​find items you might be looking for.
It’s clean and the aisles are well stocked with the hugest variety I’ve seen in a long time. I found my Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer there!
The owner was nice, as was the young man working the counter.
The bottle return, though, does not include a machine that you operate. It’s just a closet or room with a big conveyor belt for the employees to use, but you are responsible for counting your bottles, shoving them on the floor of this room and giving the total to the cashier. The deposit is put towards the purchase, so forget about cashing in and leaving w/​o purchase.
I feel like I need to put this store into my regular rotation for top shelf liquors. The name totally suits the store.

Top Shelf is the best party store downriver! The owner, Mike, is a great guy who really cares about customer service. I was looking for a specific craft brew one time and unfortunately they were sold out, but Mike asked me to wait a minute and he got on the phone and called the brewery to order more cases! That’s just the kind of customer service you’ll get at Top Shelf. He’s got a great selection of beer, wine and liquor and good prices. A hometown store with a hometown feel – would definitely recommend stopping in!

I don’t know much about liquor stores. I’ve been in them here and there for various reasons over the years.
When I think about liquor stores, I think about candy, chips, pop, beer and decadent-​shaped bottles hiding behind the bullet-​proof glass counter. I think about the creeps and bums that hang around outside asking for change. I also think about how I feel I need a shower after leaving.
Not at Top Shelf Liquor.
This is by far the nicest liquor store I’ve ever visited.
It is well-​lit, well-​organized and very open.
The guys behind the open counter always greet customers and are always sure to ask if they need help finding anything.
Their liquor selection is vast, with multiple sizes of each poison.
I don’t know anything about beer, but it seemed like 75% of their coolers were filled with kinds I’ve never seen before… which is probably exciting to beer lovers.
There’s also aisles and aisles of wine, for my Unilocal winos out there.
I just feel safe here… Not that sticky, «When can I get the eff out of here» feeling.
Top Shelf Liquor is aptly named. It truly is the nicest you can find Downriver.
