Sally’s Dominican Hair Studio

I went to Sally’s for the very first time On May 14^th. Her salon is very beautiful and everyone there are highly talented. I went in for full highlights and a Dominican blowout and the results were amazing. This is the only salon I’ll be visiting! Can’t wait to go back for my next visit.

I came in asking for a haircut. The owner «Sally» let me know that she would charge me for a wash even though I did not need one. My hair is curly and easy to blow dry but she stated that because it was curly and not blow dried out then she would Charge me for a wash even if I declined a wash. I asked why and she said that she did not need clients like me. I’m confused as to what she meant but the problem I have is that my children had to witness her yelling and I replied to her that I was not going to entertain her unprofessionalism. She yelled at me all the way out the door. I had no problem paying for services that I requested but I did not have time for a full wash and dry process because of my work schedule plus I had my kids with me so it was about time and not money. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU EXPECT PROFESSIONALISM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was my first and last experience with this salon. She was late opening the shop for my appointment, walking in she did not hold the door even though she saw me behind her and had a poor attitude from the time she addressed me! ****update***** Sally, your response did not address the fact that you were yelling and told me you did not need a client like me… all because I chose not to do business with you. I kept a low tone because my children were with me but I guess you saw that a a weakness. When you have class, no one can take you out of character. I told you I would be writing a Unilocal review so I expected a rebuttal Word of mouth is the best/​worst advertisement so I will be sure to send my family and friends to a more professional salon. Thanks again!

Sally is super sweet as is her staff. Very professional, great vibes and and an awesome hairdresser… My hubs even noticed that it looked like my hair did in Nyc (I’m a Dominican from Brooklyn). So happy to have found Sally!

Sally’s is a great shop. The girls in there really took their time getting my kinky 4c hair straight. Sally gave me a true trim and showed me how much she was going to cut before doing so. They communicated with me very well and made me feel very welcome this Allen, Tx gem! I will definitely go back, it was worth every penny

Oh my GOSH! Where has Sally been all my life? I just moved to Dallas a few months ago and found Sally on Unilocal,and I’m so thankful I did! I’ve had both good and bad experiences with Dominican salons in Houston, TX and in North Carolina, but this was by far my BEST experience! My only wish is that Sally could come and live with me and do my hair every single day! I HIGHLY recommend going to see her! I appreciated that she asked questions about my hair– history of cuts, how I usually wear it, what look I’m going for, etc. She really customized the experience for ME and MY hair– it wasn’t just another trim and blow out that she would do on every other person. That meant a lot. I WILL be returning! Thank you, Sally!!!

I’ve made 2 separate attempts to get my daughter hair. She didn’t call or show up for the appt. Not happy with the service she provides. Will not return… Don’t waste your time

It’s simply an amazing feeling when you find the hairstylist that is right for you ! It’s like slipping your foot into that glass slipper. I’ve never met a hairstylist as caring as Sally. She went above and beyond to ensure that zero to minimal damage was sustained by my hair during a color correction. It’s very evident that health comes before everything else when it comes to Sally. She asks a lot of questions before deciding the best method to be used on your hair. I’d say that most salons are comparable to fast food restaurants where quantity outweighs quality… This salon is the complete opposite of that … It’s like fine dining at it’s best where the overall quality and the attention to detail is immaculate. The friendliness of the staff, the relaxing ambiance, the pristine modern décor and the undeniable high standards of cleanliness have sealed the deal for me! I will be a permanent customer —– I should point out that for me this is a one hour drive with no traffic… And in my most honest opinion, it is absolutely worth a flight and a 3 hour drive. Thank you Sally for the healthy, beautifully colored, impeccably cut and gorgeously styled hair!

Sally knows hair! She did a great job on my hair. I have kinky Afro hair; which she effortlessly made smooth and silky without very little heat. I love her technique and heat damage is something that I am not worried about after having her straighten my hair. I have had plenty of Dominican stylists in the past I just moved from Miami recently but she is truly one of the best.

I’m a first-​timer to Sally’s today. Am very pleased with the result of her trim, roller set, and style. The other reviews that appear here on Unilocal seem right on point. I tried Sally out today before having my daughter start to go to her regularly. I appreciated that Sally took the time to ask questions to understand my hair and teach me techniques that will be good for my hair’s unique characteristics. I will be making an appointment for next week for my daughter… and can anticipate coming back to give Sally 5 stars once we both have longer term experience with her, and the results to show for it. Wonderful stylist! Sally’s focus is on healthy hair. I like the quiet environment of her suite. Great value — even if you have long and thick hair!

Sally is a great stylist and listens to what you want for your hair. I first met her when she was new to the area and working at a different salon. I am sure all of you know how hard it is to «cheat» on a stylist. Sally’s approach to hair care has «forced» me to have two stylists. I rely on her for cuts and transitioning my hair from texturized to natural. I definitely recommend her.

Sally is the real deal hair stylist for those who want the natural silky straight look. While she does relaxers and texturizers I appreciate her foundation as an original «Dominican» stylist from the Northeast! She understands many hair textures which is evident based on the various client ethnicities and she truly knows hair including natural hair! She took the time to explain the products she was using and why but also analyzed my hair to determine how to best treat it to obtain great results. She provided a hair care plan she will follow to keep it healthy, full and growing and I look forward to seeing the long term results. She is definitely a keeper!
