This pizza is fantastic. We walked in late night and while it was pretty packed they still had seating for us. We got a nice booth in the rear of the restaurant near some flatscreens although it was kind of dark back there. I got a Temptress on draft to start and it was perfect temp and came in a cold mug. I told our server Carlos that I wanted to try something new and he suggested something called Dawn of the Dank from Cobra Brewing and it was awesome. I’m gonna look into that beer because I think it might be up in my top 10 now. My girl got the caesar salad and it came out with good size in a nice deep bowl and she liked it a lot. The pizza we ordered where the 10 inch House Special with no ham and the Cosmic Karma. They were the BOMB! All the ingredients were fresh and large. There is no skimping going on here for sure. Perfect amount of sauce not too much but not too dry. Everything tasted fantastic and all the meats were equally portioned. I never eat the crust of pizzas but I found myself sitting there eating the crust since they flavored it with some type of deliciousness. I saved two slices in a box and about to heat them up now! Pizza is great! Our server Carlos was awesome and we had a fun time.

I come here once a month to enjoy my «cheat» food. The service is always amazing and the pizza always arrives in a fast timing. I highly recommend this place. It’s a bit expensive, but I can see why.

I love this place! Amazing food, and if you sign up for their membership program they send lots of coupons. My favorite pizza is the Magical Mystery Tour. The desserts don’t look like anything special on the menu, but they taste AMAZING. The salads are also tasty. There’s great service and the manager drew pictures on both my and my friend’s take out pizza boxes. It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it.

I went here because my boyfriend found a groupon for them. We were really excited, but was sadly disappointed with the pizza we got(philosopher’s pie). It was fun watching them make the pizza. I’m sure I got mesmerized at times. The waitress was really nice, but then some guy(the manager I suppose) came to scan my boyfriend’s phone for the groupon & was impolite about it. The place was really cool, if I was a soccer mom, this is the place I would take the team after a win. After our experience, I would like to give it another try, since their menu is expansive.

I like the concept here but the service is lacking and I feel they always try to up-sell you as well as rush you. Which is ironic because one would think that place would be groovy cool and laid back but it feels uptight and over-priced.

I’ve eaten here quite a few times and it’s great every time. We always get our pizza half and half and we change it up every time. It’s always fun to see what we can try next time. The service has been great almost every time I’ve been here. I’ve only had 1 bad experience with our server and I quickly fixed the issue. The atmosphere is a lot of fun with the 60’s kindof vibe. We always get a salad and split it with our 10 inch half and half pizza and it’s more than enough food for 2. If you’re looking for a good low key place to hang out and get good pizza, definitely try this location of Mellow Mushroom.

My family ate here this evening. I’ve heard great things about this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Everything tasted superb, the staff was great with their service, especially with our young boys. As a vegetarian, I was very excited to see all of the veggie-friendly options on the menu. At one point during dinner, my husband didn’t care for his beverage.(There wasn’t anything wrong with it, it was just more tart than he preferred.) Well, they didn’t charge us for the drink, even though my husband said he’d pay for it, since it was what he ordered. I thought that was above and beyond what was expected. We will definitely return to Mellow Mushroom!

I visited Mellow Mushroom with a group and was pretty excited to find that dogs are allowed in the indoor heated patio. We ordered the spinach dip and the white garlic pizza, both were ok. Service was also ok, we were not offered refills on our drinks although we were there for some time. The menu may warrant another visit as the salad and pizza options were plentiful. I’ll give it another try and hope my next experience keeps me coming back.

Great beer selection(though sometimes they are actually out of items that are written on the chalkboard — really? You can’t erase chalk and update it in about 10 seconds?) and I am such a fan of the Thai Chicken pizza that I haven’t been able to bring myself to try one of the other pizzas that look great on the menu. One of these days I am going to break from my tradition and try one of the BBQ pizzas. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food.

Any drop-in place that has standard fast food that can handle a group needing something without soy, milk, wheat, oats, or meat AND has Daiya cheese on the menu is getting two thumbs up from us. There was a miscommunication about pizza size and they were generous in addressing it. The customer service was top-notch with Mel coming to check in, top off, etc unobtrusively and with regularity. The music was very loud. Like most gluten-free pizza we’ve tried, the edges were overcooked in comparison to the center, but not problematically. The salad offerings were generous and had a great variety of veggies and combinations. The produce was fresh and crisp. Everyone was fed and renewed after leaving, asking when we’d return. We will definitely be back.

The food here is excellent, but their service is lacking… (1) Sometimes they’re friendly, sometimes not. (2) Sometimes they pick up the phone, sometimes not. (3) The always seem to be under staffed. (4) One time, I went to pick up a pizza for the office, the total cost was well under $ 30(with tax and tip), I gave the guy $ 40 and he went off into the«vortex» and never came back. I waited and waited at the bar counter(no other soul was in sight) and eventually gave up and returned to work, figuring he just assumed he could keep the rest as tip(?). On the weekends, I prefer to make the extra trip to the one in Historic Downtown McKinney; their service is quite excellent.

My husband and I had an expired groupon, so we decided to check it out. It wasn’t very crowded, but then it was an off time on Sunday late afternoon and it was pretty cloudy and dreary that day as well. We split an order of the mushroom soup which was mediocre. I’ve had canned soup that has tasted better and the one at la madeleine has it beat by far. Then we ordered the calzone. The outer breading was crispy, but it was so thick, that it appeared too crunchy and it wasn’t soft enough on the inside. The inside was pretty good and it all melted nicely with the cheese. Overall I wasn’t too impressed and I prob won’t be coming back willingly.

This place?! WHAT?! This place is a magical place filled with unicorn dust and elf gems and fairy laughter! And by all those things, I mean delicious food. I was surprised by the vast array of vegetarian/pescetarian options available on the menu AND the large menu options in general. They had salads, appetizers, small plates, pizzas, gluten-free foods, new menu items, burgers, hoagies, desserts. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and. .. wow. Just wow. It came with bread and the dip was so creamy and rich, that you must be careful to have room for your actual entrée. My pizza was a small The Caesar! with shrimp instead of chicken, which is basically a Caesar salad on a pizza. But this CRUST! This crust, this crust, this crust. How? Why? I don’t know the answer to either, but I can say, that it was a blessing. It was absolutely delicious. Soft and perfectly seasoned. The service was great and the server kept our drinks filled like a silent ninja, out of sight and mind, but only popped up when we needed her, not hovering but not scarce.

As everyone else has said, it’s pretty expensive for a pizza, but IMO it’s worth it. We ordered the Caesar pizza and it’s so delicious! We sat outside and service wasn’t bad like others have said. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. Definitely, definitely try the Caesar pizza!

The holy shiitake pizza is what dreams are made off. And they are very sweet dreams. If you like mushrooms you gotta try it. And while you’re at it, get the portabella appetizer.

was a frequent patron at the mellow mushroom on the drag in atx… so when i moved to dallas and found one in frisco — had to come check it out! not the same feel — atx is definitely more indie and frisco is more modern — but the food is still delicious!

A careful reading of the less than stellar reviews showed that the majority of problems were either service related or problems with the gluten free crust. Since anybody who eats gluten free crust pizza shouldn’t be trusted, I discounted those reviews. And who really expects awesome service at a pizza joint? All I want is good pizza, and that is what we got. In fact, it was excellent. We also ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was excellent too. We will definitely be back, as it was some of the best pizza had in a while(we got the house special). P. S. The service was great.

I’d never been to Mellow Mushroom before. I know. Pretty much everyone else I know has been already. But I finally went! The Frisco location is quite a bit closer to my house than Arlington, so it’s easier to trek up there. The bf and I went quite late on a weekend, and there were only about 3 other occupied tables. I dig their hippy/psychedelic theme: reminds me of my childhood. We got 2 small pizzas to share, 2 drinks, and 2 tossed salads. The price wasn’t as astronomical as other folks mentioned, but we also didn’t get gluten-free pizzas. It was filling and tasty. We built our own pizza for one and got a Mediterranean one(minus feta, because it makes my belly sad). I really liked the basic ham/pineapple one we had, but the Mediterranean one was just«okay». Bf said it would’ve been a lot better with the feta; I’d have to take his word on that. I really liked the pizza crust. Reminded me a little of the homemade hippy pizzas I’d make with my friend’s family in junior high… only way tastier(and our homemade hippy pizzas were good, don’t get me wrong). It’s a hand-tossed type crust: don’t go in expecting NY style or deep dish or anything. But it had a really good flavor(I think all the butter on the edges helped) and held all the toppings well. Everyone who worked there was super nice, despite us being there late(we didn’t show up 5 minutes to close or anything, but that is when we left). All smiles and ‘thank you’s and good stuff. I’ll be back to Mellow Mushroom, but I probably won’t be a regular. It’s a tiny bit too far away to make it a usual stop for us.

We ordered a vegan pizza with the gluten free crust. Literally paper thin with a 10″ diameter. We got two, both with a few toppings. The total was $ 53. The pizza was poorly made and apparently they gave us the«large» on the phone but when we asked after seeing it in person, they suddenly only have one size for the gluten free crust. Outrageous. Never going back again. Please learn a thing or two from any other pizza place. Even Little Caesar’s is 3 steps up from mellow mushroom.

After seeing some other Unilocaler buds eat here, I came here for a weekday lunch. The hand tossed pizzas looked soooo good. The menu is fairly large and we had to ask for more time on a couple occasions. We ordered three medium pizzas and was told it would take about 20 – 25 minutes. We ordered the Mellowterranean, Magical Mystery and the Maui Wowie. Hands down, I thought the Magical Mystery was the best! It was VERY good. The others were nice but didn’t set me off like the MM. So why 2 stars? Service. We had three people and three pizzas. It took OVERANHOUR to get our food. No apologies, no empathy, no concerns — nothing. They even charged me for my side of ranch. You could have given that for free. The pizza was great but because of the lack-luster service, I won’t be back. Its a shame.
