I stayed in the Honeymoon Cabin September 2015. The upstairs loft bedroom was wonderful. The pillows and linens were nice and the bed was very comfortable. A flock of wild turkeys visited me one afternoon in the area behind the cabin — so cool. Two of the cabins are just a few feet from one another. There are privacy fences but I could hear the outdoor conversations from my neighbors in the cabin next to me. The downstairs needs a thorough cleaning and updating. The kitchen was dirty from top to bottom, dirty counters, bits of food on top of the refrigerator, dirty oven and microwave, kitchen curtains were stained and dirty, soggy, smelly sponges left in sink. The kitchen sink and bathroom tub had mildew that had been there so long that the owners caulked on top of the mildew, toothpaste left in the bathroom sink, dog hair everywhere, floors dirty. The outdoor deck and furniture was covered in leaves, pine needles and other debris. I am a former innkeeper. I have worked at B&Bs and helped restore old, dirty properties to become beautiful B&Bs. After restoration, I made sure that those B&Bs stayed in pristine, immaculate condition for each and every guest. There is no excuse for owners to expect a paying guest to stay in a dirty property.

Great getaway for my wife & I. Cozy, with everything you need to have a relaxing weekend. Sofa could do with an update but the bed was extremely comfortable. We will definitely return!

As I am writing this review, I’m wishing l was at Hideout Cabins right now. My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Colorado recently and I was searching the web for the perfect place to stay for our 4 nights when I came across Hideout Cabins. Once I saw the pictures on their website I was dead set on staying there, unfortunately the specific cabin I had my heart set on(there are 3 different Cabins and I wanted that Riverview Cabin BAD, I mean, just take a look at the pictures!) was booked for every night that we were there except one– oh well! I’m booking it if even for that one night! The other cabins(the Aspen and the Honeymoon cabins) also look great and we would have moved to one of those if they weren’t already booked. Although I was under the impression that the Riverview Cabin was a little more secluded for some reason(don’t get me wrong, it’s a little cabin in the mountains alright), but when I walked into the cabin I forgot that we had neighbors at all. The Riverview Cabin is just what I would imagine in my head if I were to dream up my own little cabin in the mountains. Its was perfect. So homey and welcoming. You don’t feel like you’re at some hotel, lodge, or generic rental cabin, it feels like you just walked into your aunt’s cabin and the best part is, she’s on vacation. They’ve thought of every little thing to make your stay perfectly comfortable. Not only do they supply towels and some toiletries, but there are a few condiments in the fridge and a couple of food items in case of an emergency, movies and games and they even supplied the wood for the wood-burning fireplace inside. There are 2 bathrooms in the cabin, one with a claw-foot tub, and 2 bedrooms, one of which is a loft bedroom. We slept in the main bedroom and the bed was way more comfortable than any bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. Ok, and maybe I’m a little crazy, but most of the time when I shower in a hotel or rental cabin, I wear flip flops and make sure that I do not touch he sides of the shower and all that but this place was so clean, all they ask is that you clean up after yourself and take the sheets off of the bed so that their housekeeper knows they’re used. And that’s just the inside! I think we spent more time in the outdoor hot tub than we did inside the cabin. There’s also a hammock which will be calling my name in the summer. But anyway, lets talk about the hot tub. It’s right next to the river, was already warming up for us when we arrived, and the underwater lights change color. We stayed in there for a loooong time and stared up at the stars in the sky. I could sit in that hot tub every night for the rest of my life. Our stay at the Riverview cabin, one of the 3 Hideout Cabins, was memorable and nothing less than therapeutic, all our stresses were miles away and I had no complaints whatsoever. I can’t say enough good things about the Riverview Cabin, the only part that sucks is leaving. We’ll be back for sure. Oh and they allow dogs :)
