I’ve recently purchased a high end Fuji Altamira road bike from this shop taking advantage of Sept bike sales and I had a very positive experience. It might be because I was lucky to have Justin, the salesperson & bike technician, that help me find a bargain on a 20132.0LE at a great price but also provided excellent customer service. The day I’ve purchased the bike, I didn’t have my old clip-on shoes which I had since back in my college days riding Univega Viva Sport. So, I’ve return the following week to look for new pedals and luckily he was there to greet me. He showed me different styles and narrowed down to couple options that’s in my price range and I’ve decided on a set of Shimano 105. He installed it on my bike right there and when I ask about adjusting bike to fit me, he put the bike on training station and told me to hop on. Among having to attend to another customer, he let me ride for a bit and came back around to see how I am doing; made couple adjustments to get it closer to my liking; seat angle, and height. I’ve told him that I haven’t done any serious riding in quite some time now and he really took his time to making sure I am happy. If you’re a newbie or getting back into some serious road biking, this location got you covered… I can’t say for everyone staff member there but hey if you can ask for Justin, he’ll take good care of you like he did for me.

I was shopping for a bike and found this store to be the only one open on Sunday if the 3 recommended in our area. I explained that it was the first stop I’d made yet they still took the time I needed to explain everything along with their added programs for maintenance, etc. they did say the current sale price probably wouldn’t be good the next day. I had them write all the info down for me since I am a bike novice. The next day I visited the other 2 shops. 1 made me wait and wait, the other had a large dog that turned out to be friendly but it scared me at first. Prices were way higher at both shops so I went back to Performance. I told them I wanted the same price as the day before. The first guy said he didn’t think he could do that but immediately an older guy came over and said no problem. The 1 I wanted had sold so I ordered mine. Will go there for equipment to as they are very helpful without being pushy.

I met one terrific sales person and that was it. Have been in that store 3 times and it is worse than pulling teeth to get help. I understand busy. I worked retail at one time. When the customer you were helping is done or has left you go find another… You dont find your buddies at the kiosk and start chatting. Sorry guys, I may buy a bike from you but only because of your price. Not your service. In the meantime I am searching for other retails in the area to help.

Bought a bike from manager Greg during January 2011. Since that time have been back twice for free tune-ups from the highly competant Brian. Brian even tells you what he is doing and gives friendly tips while working. Well worth the 95 mile drive from New Jersey.

I am just getting into some more serious riding, so I decided to check around. After about a week’s worth of research, Performance Bicycles looked like the best option available(especially for Fuji bikes). So I drove the 2 hours from Manhattan to buy my bike here, and I don’t regret it for a second. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and I was given advice both by the sales staff and mechanics. They took the time to make sure I not only understood the pros and cons of various bikes/models but also the proper maintenance necessary to minimize the professional maintenance I’d need in the future. On top of amazing service, they offered such a good price that I questioned if I was perhaps buying a stolen bike. I kid you not when I say that the bike I bought was selling for $ 300 more in Manhattan at every shop I talked to. And did I mention that most of the accessory gear I bought was on sale for about 20−30% off. Add to that the fact that the shop has a 100% satisfaction guarantee with no time limit and you have one of the best buying experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Like all bike shops they only carry a handful of brands, but they have a ton of models, and again if you are looking at Fuji bikes, end your search here. The company has an arrangement with them that makes their prices impossible to beat from what I’ve seen.
