Simply Smooth Catering

About a month ago I used Simply Smooth catering for my wedding and everything was almost perfect. During to planning there were a few minor blips, but everything worked out.
Service: ⁵⁄₅ I could not have asked for better service at the wedding. The bartender was awesome and made our drinks perfectly, with a great attitude. The waitstaff were also amazing. They treated my husband and I like royalty and seemed to keep water glasses filled and tables happy.
Food: ⁴⁄₅ since I did not get to taste is all I will go on my opinion if what I did taste, my husband’s opinion and also what was raved about. I personally loved the jalapeño corn cakes, salad with pear, and roll. I also go the vegetarian main dish with was an acorn squash filled with grains, veggies, and smoked tofu. I did not love this the day if the wedding, which was a disappointment since I loved it at the tasting. I felt the flavors and veggies were different and my only expectation was that there would be the same flavors, simply with the addition of tofu. On that note, others that got the dish enjoyed it. The loss of the star is from the disconnect of what I tasted vs what I got that day.
My husband enjoyed the chicken with apple chutney, garlic smashed potatoes, and green beans and he and everyone we spoke to enjoyed it all. The other things he tried the day of and loved were the candied bacon and bang bang shrimp, and he loved both. The guests also had the yellow velvet soup and spinach phyllo spanakopita and we were told all were excellent.
Planning: ⁴⁄₅ overall, planning went well. There were just a few minor issues. First, Laurin was late for our first meeting, but thereafter, no issues at all. Secondly, we had a martini signature drink and it was overlooked that we would need martini glasses. Other than that, everything was perfect.
If I had another wedding, I would hire them again. We used them for tables, chairs, linens, bar, ceremony chairs, and food. Overall they did an excellent job. My main disappointment was my vegetarian meal. I was most happy with the service. Everything was timely and well executed. I hesitated on hiring Laurin and his team due to the last review, but I’m happy I did.

Simply Smooth did my daughters wedding in December. The chef met with us directly, gave us some excellent options and we had an excellent experience. People are still raving about what a great night it was. We met with the owner as well and whenever there was a question or a need, he was prompt about getting back to us. They supplied the flowers and limousines as well. I’d highly recommend this company for any event in the future!

I was looking for a caterer and he came highly recommended, however after him being over 20 minutes late for our consultation with an unapologetic attitude we were happy to take our business else where. As a matter of fact he was so arrogant to say that he was glad we were not rescheduling with him. Too bad he didn’t get to learn what our budget was.
