I have used Proper Realty Group Properties for my last apartment and they could not have been better! I worked with Ipyna and he was fantastic. Not only did he know the city like the back of his hand but he was EXTREMELY flexible time wise.
I have used many agents in Boston but these guys were by far the best!

I usually fear using any sort of realty group or agent when searching for apartments, but I could’ve have had a better experience with Proper Realty Group. Ryan C. was knowledgeable, and extremely helpful through my neurotic anxiety and other fears from start to finish. With the help of Ryan C., and Proper Realty Group I’ve gotten over my phobia, and will be sure to use this company the next time I need to find a place in Boston.

I can’t say enough about Proper Realty Group– especially Vlad! He was very responsive, brought me options I couldn’t find elsewhere on my own and he listened to every item on my wish list. Vlad has a very kind, calm demeanor– but he is very direct and works REALLY hard to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. I love his sincerity and honesty. He helped steer me away from a potential sub-​par location, and I ended up finding the PERFECT place, instead! He could have easily had me sign just any lease and make a profit, but he made sure my interests were protected. The whole process was simple and stress-free…even down to moving (yes, Vlad even helped me with that)! I don’t think I’ll need him again anytime soon (I am perfectly happy with my current place), but if I do, I would go with Vlad. You should too!

Ryan T, a local guy who knows the area well, has a really good sense of what a young professional is looking for — he literally emailed me 5 great options w/​pictures within an hour! Much better than I could find myself. The entire process continued to be streamlined and organized thanks to him, and I’m so happy in my new place.

I’ve lived in California my entire life and now I’m moving to Boston. I had no idea where to live or where to start when looking for apartments. Alex Zhang was fantastic in a multitude of ways. He earnestly provided me and my roommates with several different options of apartments tailoring to our specific needs. In fact, he made a tremendous effort to make sure that our future apartment would be an absolutely perfect fit for us and didn’t settled for mediocrity or above average. When he saw that we slightly wavered on our first location (all 3 of us actually really liked the location), he genuinely supported us in looking further to find a perfect spot instead of simply urging us to sign. I highly respect that.
Additionally, Alex was instrumental in making our application process run as smoothly as possible. I had several questions, some redundant and some understandably tedious but he never shied away from answering them. I’ve worked with several realtors before but Alex was indubitably the most reliable, responsive and supportive by far. Proper Realty really did a great job helping me find my apartment. The agent was patient and knowledgeable. We went out on 4 showings and he had no problem showing me every apartment that was in my price range. They got me $ 200 off of my rent and even got half the fee from the landlord. Highly suggested!

If you find yourself looking to move and don’t know which realty company to help you with your search, this is THE ONE. I was walking by the sidewalk one day and decided to stop in and see if they could help me with my search. I wasn’t expecting much due to some negative experiences with other agencies (stand-​off ish, rude, and uninterested). I was in desperate need to find an affordable place in a short period of time, and with a dog; which is close to impossible to find. Matt Schuster, the owner and manager, took his time addressing all of my concerns, needs, wants, and deal breakers and was extremely professional, organized, and timely throughout the search process. He was very easy to get in touch with, and went above and beyond to find a perfect home for me. They made the entire relocation process easy, which is saying a lot because moving can be extremely stressful. I am very thankful to have stopped in that day, and will be using their office if I am ever looking to relocate again.

I want to update this review to note that someone from Proper called me personally to discuss this negative experience and explained the situation, as well as to let me know that the person responsible for letting the lease fall through had been let go. I really appreciate the transparency here, as well as the effort the current staff is going through to fix things for us.

First off. We all know moving and finding places to move into is a nightmare. Colleen on the other hand was not. She was the MOST helpful agent I’ve used and was the only one to actually respond to me promptly.
Colleen listened to all my restrictions when looking for new places and didn’t waste my time by showing me things I couldn’t afford. In the end we found a great place and it was the least stressful search I’ve had!

Brendan is the best realtor I’ve ever dealt with! He was friendly, professional, very knowledgeable with current market trends and knew exactly what I was looking for. He worked tirelessly to help me find a home that I love and ensured the whole process was seamless from beginning to end. I would not hesitate to work with him again!

I found Proper Realty Group on Unilocal and ended up working with Stefan Mandle who was great, he found a great place for my husband and I. I was looking for a sublet in Boston for a few months and I came across a listing that Henry from Proper Realty Group had advertised. I contacted Henry and he sent me some available properties that fit my criteria. I was able to secure an apartment while still living in NY. It was an easy and seamless process.

I’ve worked with realtors before, but Proper Realty Group has been the best experience. Brendan Boyd has been on target when it comes to getting things done and taking care of any issues that might arise.

My friends & I met up and worked with Brendan in the process of getting a place in Waltham, MA. First things first, he very professional. Had everything prepared in terms of paper work and walked us through the agreement briefly but still thoroughly. Was able to answer most questions and concerns we had, and if not he was able to work it out with us. The process was easy and he was very knowledgeable of the place we considered plus its conditions. Friendly, punctual, and professional.

After working with a handful of Realtors from various agencies, we came across Bill from Proper Realty. He was by far the most professional Realtor that we had worked with. And he helped us find a lovely apartment that’s perfect for our needs.
Bill supported three of us through rent negotiations (something that seemed extremely strange to do for a rental), meeting with the private landlord, and making sure that we had a strong application. Bill was timely, flexible, and gave us his honest opinion.
It seems that an experience with a Realtor company depends very much on the agent. I highly recommend Bill to help you through the nightmare of apartment searching in Boston!

What a horrible experience with this company, would give 0 stars if possible. First we signed a lease for a new apartment back in January. We were then told 6 months later in mid June that we actually lost the apartment, it was supposed to never be on the market. Whether or not it was the leasing company that screwed up here it is still unbelievable it took this long to find out, especially since we had been asking our Realtor for some time to go and measure the unit.
To make this situation worse getting our refund back on the first, last, security and Realtor fee paid was extremely difficult. We were given back a majority of the money that week but a portion of the Realtor fee was not handed over, the portion used as the commission for the agent. That agent had now left the company and since they would be on vacation for 2 weeks we could not get the money back til then. After constantly calling various people at the company, including the owner, we were able to get half this amount back. Communication with this company was impossible as no one would return calls when messages were left for them.
To top it off I was told the owner does not deal with customers and I would not be able to speak with him. Only after getting the owners email and emailing him myself was I able to speed up the process of getting the remaining money back. At this point I was told the money would be sent to me immediately. After more then a week of calling and emailing with no response was I finally able to get in touch with the owner. He said the check had been mailed but they would come and drop it off to me. I was finally able to get the check today ⁷⁄₈ a full week after they had received the money back from the Realtor on ⁷⁄₁ and 12 days since I was told this last portion would be sent to me. That it took 3+ weeks to get a refund on money I was owed is unbelievable. Even more frustrating is the lack of communication from the company as numerous calls and emails were never returned as they seemed to be avoiding this situation as much as possible.
Avoid this company as much as possible.

Where do I even begin! I had an amazing experience with Cyrus helping me find a gorgeous apartment in Boston! I am originally from Cambridge but after coming back from San Francisco I was at a loss for where to live/​find a good place.
Cyrus was professional, very knowledgeable on all Boston apartments, and extremely good looking too which was a nice perk ;-) He was always emailing and calling in a timely manner and did a GREAT JOB getting things done fast and on time. I would highly recommend Cyrus Safizadeh for all your property needs!
He also is great eye candy ;-) too if you like Persian men hehe
