C & T Landscape Maintenance

I used C&T for a number of years, but recently fired them.
Here’s why: I have made abundantly clear to the owner that I want no toxic chemicals used on my property, either amendments or controls.
This spring they aerated, fertilized and overseeded. I happened to be there and saw one of the crew with a sprayer. I asked what he was doing and they said they were going to take care of the dandelions that had spread from the adjacent city park (Shame on Portland for weeding up the neighborhood properties with their non-​existent mowing).
I told the crew not to do it and that I had informed Charles the owner that I do not allow any toxics on the land. They left. I called C & T and when he called back some time later, made an excuse. I reiterated.
Then, a week or so later, one area of the parking strip that had a low growing weed of some kind, got suspiciously yellow. I called Charles to ask if they had, in fact, sprayed that area. He said they had not.
The area continued to die. The next time I saw the workers I asked to speak to the crew boss and pointed out the area. He said they had sprayed there and that they had not been told to avoid herbicides. I had the crew remove the soil in the area and had to purchase organic soil to fill the area myself as when I called C & T, they never called back.
So, basically the owner did not tell the crew and then lied to me. I fired C & T and do not recommend them.

Took a few days for them to come out and give a quote. We discussed what was to be done and future lawn projects but did not get a timeframe.
A month goes by without any communication. I emailed and was very upset. Long story short: they were too busy and shorthanded for my business.

Charles and his crew came out today after a few changes to the plan/​proposal and they managed to squeak their equipment through my side path and into the backyard. They got to work and stayed over to get it done. They made two gravel pads for sheds leveled out the space 30’x75’ and then planted 7 trees. They did a great job
took my mess of stump grindings and several yards of river rock from the previous owner and turned my yard into our private little forest. I am very please with the work that was done, the only negative was getting to an agreed start date and time. In the end he changed his schedule to accommodate our job two thumbs up.

Nice people, but they didn’t ever follow-​up to a quote.
We met for a half-​hour, and we talked in detail about what we wanted. They said they would follow-​up in a few weeks, and we never heard from them again…
