Amazing food. Try the chicken. It’s cooked right outside the front door. Wonderful place.

Highly recommend the food here. Natural flavors and very authentic. Does not feel like the chain style Mexican food.

I have been eyeing Don Asado for longer than I’m willing to admit. A tiny, somewhat nondescript building in Aloha(it has housed all kinds of food places including a beignet place and a fancy deli) it is not far from my friend’s salon, but the timing was never right to stop in. They’re open Thursday-Sunday, and I could never manage lunch or dinner. My life is complicated. When a big sign went up about«now serving breakfast» I knew I could manage that. So at around 10:30am on a Sunday I dragged in a hungry friend. There are about eight or ten tables. Only one other table was occupied. There was one friendly man running the show. He took our order, cooked our food, and waited on us until help arrived a bit later. Omhg the food. Most of the breakfast items are wonderful Mexican breafast standbys. My chilaquiles verdes was so good: tender tortillas, perfect green chile sauce, expertly cooked eggs, extra delicious smoky carnitas, tasty beans and rice. Really really good stuff. And a lot of it. My dining companion had a farmer’s scramble with savory spicy chorizo, chiles, eggs, lovely potatoes, and cheese. It came with rice, beans, and warm corn tortillas. It was freaking delicious. The coffee was good. We had to find the sugar(on the counter) while our food was being prepared, but we didn’t mind. I wasn’t really excited that the only cream offering was nondairy french vanilla creamer in little cups, I would be happier with half and half, but that is literally our only complaint. Breakfast was utterly reasonable, under $ 20, and I like the homey small town feel of it. It totally reminded me of little places in Arizona, where I grew up. I am willing to put up with small issues for those big tastes of home. And in case you missed it, the food is REALLY good. Loaded with complex flavors, the sauces and salsas(especially the creamy green jalapeño salsa) are all spot on. I will go back. No more excuses for passing Don Asado by.

I don’t normally write bad reviews, but I was very disappointed with the service. The food was great, we had the Carne asada, burrito with asada, and the chorizo nachos. All great, but it was the cook that finally took our order after 15 minutes. At this point still no drinks. They charged us 2.75 for chips and salsa, brought that and still no drinks. I finally went to the counter and she still only brought 1 water for 3 people! Really? Drinks came right before food and no refills, ever. I got up and grabbed the water pitcher and poured my own drink. Tables next to us had no problem getting service. I guess if you don’t speak Spanish, you don’t get service there. After 24 minutes, I Google searched«bill please» and 18 minutes later signed the credit card with no tip(first time in 20 years). Service was unacceptable!

Ahhhhh-mazing! I had the avacado tacos with the pork… it was the best taco I have ever had. My kids had the guacamole chicken burrito… which they loved! The chicken had amazing smokey flavor! My kids said they want to eat there every day! We will absolutely be going back!

The tacos are the best in Beaverton and Hilsboro but I was hoping for more than tacos and burrito, still definitely my lunch rotation.

Ridiculous! The serving sizes are Ridiculous! The prices are more than reasonable! And EVERYTHING I’ve had is delicious! Shrimp Burritos that have more shrimp than rice! Tacos with freshly grilled meats straight off his grill out front and piled up with raw onions, cilantro, and fresh limes! The man is passionate about his work and he cares about his customers: these two things are perhaps the greatest attributes to Don Asado… well that and those homemade chips!

Finally some bomb tacos in Oregon! Cooked fresh, juicy and flavorful! Service is great and lots of options for salsas and guacamole. Also all made very fresh. I recommend chicken and carne asada tacos as that’s what we ordered and devoured! Yum! I want more just thinking about it. Will be back and will update on other things on the menu! Easy 5 stars

Definitely a hidden gem in Aloha! Al Pastor was amazing with grilled pineapple. The chips were worth the cost, homemade! Ordered the shrimp fajita burrito! Huge and amazing! Probably the best homemade Mexican food place in Portland!

This place man. This place put me in a food coma no lie. The food portion sizes are out of this world. I was feelin wild and got two breakfast burritos… I’m leaving with twins. This place is the bomb dot com tho. If you looking for a food coma throw the family in the whip and get down here.

The chips and salsa aren’t free, but that’s fine because the chips were homemade and the salsa was phenomenal. They also have very affordable and very well portioned kid’s meals. Our meal was excellent, and the service was magnificent — the waiter and cook were so polite and welcoming. This place crosses my path every week to Aloha swim center and I’ll be sure to stop here everytime.

Wow, the tacos! We ordered the chicken, steak, carnitas and pork tacos. All was good. The chicken and the pork had a nice smoked flavor. All items were full of flavor and authentic. My wife ordered the enchilada and tamal. Awesome! I couldn’t help but steal the food as well.

Food here was really good. The only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 is because of the service. The very kind woman was very limited with English which made ordering a bit of a challenge. Had to ask for horchata about 5 times and she couldn’t understand me. She then told me she was limited English and to please speak slower. My fiancé and I ordered a huge plate of tacos to share and asked if getting one tamal was possible… she said yes. The food took a while to make it presence at the table… but I’d say it was worth it, it was so tasty! Only down side is instead of one tamal we got a whole tamal meal… not what we were going for since we were in a bit of a pinch money wise and had budgeted out that nights meal to what we could afford. Overall though food was good and fresh… so we will definitely be coming back for more!

We liked it! Tortillas were yummy and seemed homemade. Nice texture. Visited as a couple with wife’s parents. Sampled a variety: fish tacos, avocado tacos, enchiladas(beef and pork), and the super nachos. Didn’t try any beverages. Heard from mother the pork was delicious, and chicken had a lot of grilled flavor. Nice humble restaurant with a cute outside. Will visit again! Visitors should know there is no alcohol on site, so don’t come with someone who is expecting that or, order take-out!

Oh. My. Gosh. This place is a hidden gem of a restaurant and I hope it stays that way(for selfish reasons, of course!). The chips are thick & crispy, the pastor is TODIEFOR and the tamale was melt in your mouth good! I don’t know what magic is being used in the kitchen, but we’ll for sure be back to try new things!

We tried this place on a whim, it’s been many other restaurants/coffee shops in the past I’ve been told. When you first walk in you notice the decorations hanging overhead and the warm atmosphere. They have old authentic Mexican music playing in the background to add to the ambiance and a selection of lemonades ready to be poured on the counter. The menu is riddled with spelling errors and bad grammar but it adds to the authenticity and charm in my opinion. You have to buy chips and salsa(they don’t come free like in some places) but the chips are home made so $ 2 for them is a good deal. The lunch specials are about $ 10 and come on huge plates, I could only eat half my food. I’m a weenie when it comes to spicy food– so my mouth was on fire. My husband didn’t taste anything spicy on his food so if you’re tolerant to hot spices you’ll be fine. Grab an authentic glass bottle coke to top off the meal. This place was nice, we’ll be back. Good deals and tasty food!

First off, don’t go here, more for me. Just kidding, this place has been around for nearly 3 years and we just went today, I could strangle myself. This is by far the best Mexican Food I have ever had in my life and I eat it often and all over the place. It is a small little eatery near 185th and Alexander, one block north of TV Highway, owner operated. We tried the chips and salsa with a side of beans, the chips are home made and delicious, the beans are amazing and the salsa is fresh made and quite tasty. We shared a taco platter, 4 Asada and 4 Al Pastor(Pork), these are the small street tacos with onion and cilantro. They all are marinated and cooked in Pineapple and wow does it make a difference, so succulent and tasty. I was in heaven, seriously. They have a green jalapeño salsa which was spicy and I could not get enough of it, give me chips and a bottle of that shiznit and I am good for days. They have a large menu and I am so excited to try everything on it. They also have a large variety of traditional beverages, I opted for diet Coke. Super reasonably priced as well, our bill was just over 20 bucks with a good tip. They have Happy Hour from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Also free tacos on your birthday. Great place, so glad we finally stopped by!

What can I say but wow! Now *this* is real Mexican food! A little hole-in-the-wall. And I say that with only the utmost of compliments because those places usually have great food! And this one certainly follows suit. The chef(owner) finally got a gal to wait tables. I hope this one lasts. He says they get really busy and it was a good thing we’d made reservations! Be careful how you order, though because I told her I wanted enchiladas(my faves) and a Chile Relleno, and I pointed at the Relleno, not realizing what I was pointing at was a full dinner! And the enchilada dinner plate, in and of itself, was enormous! So I had the gal tell him to put it in a to go box because I wasn’t going to be able to eat all of that. It was pretty tasty the next day, too. Anyway, the food was fantastic! I’m not normally one who can tolerate hot foods well, but this was a flavorful hot. Loved it. Anyway, if you can, drop in and have a bite to eat. Great food! And don’t forget to make a reservation.

If you want amazing tacos with tender, perfectly grilled meat, spicy salsa with good flavor, and decent rice and beans then try this place! I ordered the two chicken, two asada taco special and it was really good. Their salsa came in two types. One was the standard rojo salsa that was full of smoky flavor but also had kick. The other salsa looked questionable but it was pretty spicy and tasted almost like a creamy jalapeño salsa. It was excellent with the tacos. The beans were a good consistency and the rice was pretty good too. Not the best I’ve ever had but decent. It’s a small location on a side street with interesting décor inside. Let’s just say it was pretty authentic. The man who played host was also the server and I think possibly the chef. I’m assuming he was the owner because a woman with two cute kids sat in a back booth and seemed as though they were waiting. I’m pretty sure it is family owned and operated. Anyway the man was very attentive, came over frequently to make sure we were doing okay, and was very nice. Definitely going back, probably more than I should. good food, good service, decent décor and ambiance. Nothing fancy but definitely worth the go.
