I have only had the bagels but it is a welcome switch from BBs. The bagels and cream cheeses are good plus there is a lot less attitude, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are way better. I am happy with everything so far and I plan on trying a sandwich from their extensive menu.

I had breakfast and lunch here and overall pretty good. They have NYC style bagels that for Atlanta were pretty good and the omelette was cooked the way I asked for it although it was a bit small. I had a nice salad for lunch the following day and it was solid and the lady promised it was enough for a meal and it was. They have self serve brewed coffee so if you’re like me and a drip coffee is fine then this is all good.

I am in search of a delicious corned beef on rye – one that tastes like it’s made from slicing a real corned beef roast, not supermarket processed deli corned beef. I can find one in NYC, but that’s a bit far to go for lunch. Grouchy’s menu is extensive and it appears they have some great stuff. The corned beef deli sandwich isn’t bad but it isn’t great either. It’s steamed so it’s the correct temperature and moistness but the taste is mediocre. Almost sweet. For $ 11 with large drink, I just expected better. And no pickle? I’d come again and try a salad or different sandwich – like I said, the menu is extensive!

This review is for breakfast so take that into account. It has been a long time since I had such a bad meal. It was so bad I didn’t finish it, if you know me, you know that’s bad. Here’s what we had: Omelette with peppers, mushrooms, ham and cheddar: Horrible, just full on terrible. There were no redeeming features to this omelette. I didn’t finish it. Plain Bagel: Just your standard bagel. Nothing exciting and I have frankly had better ones from the grocery store. This did get finished so that’s a good thing. Lox Cream Cheese: Again, nothing special, not rancid or anything but nothing great. Lots of cream cheese very little lox. This was finished but again, I’ve had way better. Hash browns: Overcooked and GREASY. It was so greasy if felt like they took it out of the deep fryer and didn’t drain it. We didn’t finish it. Fruit cup: Underripe fruit and flavorless. We also didn’t finish this. Coffee: Your typical flavorless«dirty tap water» coffee. Service: Well, they call themselves grouchy’s for a reason and I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything more than what we got. Stay away from this place for breakfast, I hear lunch is better, not sure I’m willing to come back but maybe I will be convinced. If I do, I will write up an updated on this review.

Awesome breakfast place! Friendly service and good food. The nova platter is a great way to start your day. There is a great selection of bagels and they are always fresh.

I don’t know about this place… I bought a Groupon for this Alpharetta location and I had decent hopes based off the reviews. I have been twice so far, and I was super unimpressed with their food. The quality seems low, and it really seems like something I would make at home in a rush. The last time I was there, I ordered a open faced tuna melt. The bread was soggy, which is totally unappealing and it was supposed to be ‘grilled’. And the tuna salad was very bland. I think it probably stays in business because there are tons of companies right around the location, but I won’t be back. Bleh.

This place was pretty nice with a variety of food items: sandwiches, wraps, bagels, brownies, coffee, etc. They even have a breakfast menu too. I had the Caribbean jerk chicken wrap with the pasta salad being the side. The wrap comes with the option of a regular wrap, tomato basil, spinach, and I think something else. I went for the tomato basil, and it went well with the chicken. The wrap was warm and tasty. I do think the jerk chicken could have used more seasoning since it wasn’t as flavorful as expected. It was overall good as the veggies were fresh. The pasta salad was on point as it had the perfect flavor and creaminess. The staff was friendly and cordial. I didn’t dig the atmosphere too much since it was somewhat loud with the modern pop music playing in the background and chit chat of the customers. The inside had a somewhat dimly lit atmosphere. Parking was pretty available since people go in and out of this area fairly quickly. Look for BP& Varsity, and Grouchy’s will be towards the back area. You have to turn into this area before turning right at the light because there isn’t an access point thereafter — if you’re on Westside Pwky turning right onto Haynes Bridge.

Still the bomb! Still the best sandwiches in town for fresh NY style deli. Also great soups and salads. Best caterers around, too! It’s family friendly and I love the owners!

Great sandwiches and side dishes. I’m from New York so I know good bagels and good corned beef. Also great tuna salad and black and white cookies.

I like Grouchy’s. I work nearby and go there for breakfast or a quick sandwich. The food is good, but they are a little slow. I would definitely call in your order. I appreciate the different options and especially that there are Vegan options on the menu. I can definitely vouch for them on the quality of the breakfast sandwiches and the sandwich wraps. Online ordering is a huge plus as well.

Coincidentally, the name is grouchy as is the adjective in customer service. I met a friend there for lunch Sat and we both had groupons since they just came out this week. We were told we could not use 2PER Goupon. Now, it does say, one per person, one per visit, one per table and I offered to the guy working at the counter that we could sit at two different tables, why does he care when we are paying separately. He insisted on calling the mgr which was instantaneously, which I thought was very odd. Keep in mind that we passed many restaurants on the way to Grouchys, including Rising Roll, which I have never eaten and more places. After they wouldnI’t let us your our Own groupons, paying separately and even eating separately, we left and went to Chick-Fil-A where we received outstanding service. I will never visit this place again and it seems like they would want the business since there was only one table there at 1:30 on a Saturday. They didnt even care that I said I would leave a review knowing that all of these bad reviews are here. It only takes one time guys to have a repeat customer and y’all blew it.

Ordered an Italian Sub sandwich today, what I received was a 5″ sub roll with Mayo, a leaf of lettuce, some sliced ham(very fatty) a small slice of a white cheese(not sure what type) and some mystery meat that I assume was suppose to be Salami. Nothing else on the sandwich. I seriously doubt if you went into ANY Deli in NY and ordered and Italian Sub you would most definitely not get anything resembling what Grouchy’s pawns off as an Italian sub. WILLNEVEREATTHEREAGAIN! Must be «New York Deli» from Mars cause if you ever gave this sandwich to a New Yorker I guarantee they would place it where the Grouchy never shines!

I have gone to Grouchy’s on many occasions as I work within walking distance but today is the day that broke the camel’s back! I was in there this afternoon getting my usual sandwich and salad and the girl at the register is from what I can tell somewhat new. Well Nicole, the manager, calls her out right in front of me because she didn’t charge me for the gluten free bread. She told her«no no no, we always charge for gluten free bread, don’t ever assume anything!», right in front of me, a customer! She actually charged me the 50 cents for my gluten free bread and I paid with my American Express so I’m sure that they got maybe a whole dime out of the transaction. Nicole stated that she should’ve charged me the whole $ 1 for my gluten free bread but since I only ordered a half a sandwich, she only charged me 50 cents… gee thanks! In the meantime, another customer had walked in and was waiting to place his order, but instead of taking care of him she went into the back with the new girl to yell at her some more. Poor style and poor management. Nicole then came up to me to tell me that they always charge for gluten free bread which I completely understand as gluten free bread isn’t very cost effective in a restaurant. I told her I understood but there was no reason for her to call out her employee in front of me. She denied doing this and claimed she went in the back. Nicole stated that«well she’s new and she needed to know». After I received my sandwich, I realized it looked pretty dry which is a usual thing and I always ask for extra honey mustard on the side. I went up to the register and she said«oh we charge for that, it’s 40 cents». Needless to say I walked out. They have NEVER charged me for extra dressing. There are PLENTY of other places within 5 minutes of Grouchy’s and I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere and will encourage my other co-workers to do the same.

Great place for lunch. This has become our«usual» lunch place. Sandwiches are great and matzoh ball soup is good. But ample selection of sandwiches and salads. There are choices for vegetarian friends.

Had a delicious Salmon BLT. The fries were average, but the sandwich made up for it. Overall, my love handles were happy so I was happy.

This place is fine. A wide variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. The food is good. There are actually a lot of things I’d order but when I went I was trying to stay healthy. My sandwich was made on a wrap even though it was supposed to be a regular sandwich and I like that I can always sub in a wrap. My side item was a tasty cucumber and tomato salad. My sandwich was pretty good. I’ll go back and maybe will increase the rating based on other things I order. It’s a little pricey but not that bad.

I love some Grouchy’s deli sandwiches. After not being the area for quite a few years I found myself near Grouchy’s yesterday and decided to drop in to grab a hoogie for lunch. I had to knock off a star for their service, otherwise this would be a 5 star rating. When I walked into the deli yesterday it was before the lunch rush and I was like the 2nd person in there. I stood at the counter to place my order, but the woman behind the counter keep sweeping the floor knowing that I was standing there, finally the cook peeked out the window and told her to wait on me. So I ordered my food and was happy to wait. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t see the brisket sandwich on the menu I use to get years ago; but ordered the Grouchy Sandwich to give it a whirl. The sandwich was great! It was piled high with pastrami with melted swiss and spicy mustard. For a side I had the pasta salad which was ok.

I’ve had better bagels elsewhere. We got the onion bagel and it tasted EXTREMELY onion-y. The everything bagel tasted like I was biting a block of salt. I’m also a little disappointed in their menu layout. I wasn’t even sure what they were offering. Man behind the counter didn’t seem to keen on telling us either. No thannnks.

I love the name of this place. It reaffirms a stereotype I have of New Yorkers. I’ve only been to the big apple once, briefly, so I don’t really have any New York experiences to reference. Yet I imagine everyone being grouchy, rude, surly, pissed off, and just a hair away from flipping me off with an F bomb or two. So this deli is nothing like that really. I’ve never been to a real deal New York deli, but as the other reviews suggest, don’t expect to find that here. Past the stereotype of a name, this place is just another deli in town. It is always tough for me to try a new deli like this. The menu is usually vast, with long descriptions of sandwiches. I’m always rushed to order something or else be the guy who holds up the lunch line. I end up going back to my old standby, a chicken salad sandwich. I was impressed with the available side items here, and settled on a Caesar side salad. Delicious down to the last bite. The sandwich itself was just ok. The chicken pieces were large but the mayo was overly sweet. My wife’s potato salad was very good. Actually, I think they called it a baked potato salad. I could eat a lot of this stuff. My buddy from work raved about the white Russian sandwich, which I think is a turkey pastrami. Grouchy’s does a pretty good business to the cubicle crowd at lunch, with a popular following from the skinny office ladies. The music is a bit loud and makes carrying on a lunch conversation difficult. But that doesn’t seem to keep folks away. They also have a decent looking breakfast menu with bagels, fancy coffee and a tempting dessert selection.
