We were a party of 6 today for lunch at about 2 pm and waited over 45 minutes for our food. We were told that there were 10 tickets ahead of us! Seems to me that the need more help preparing the food! In addition I ordered an omelette which came out over cooked and missing the cheese entirely. Sent it back for another one which was poorly prepared– kind of slapped together. I don’t think they use real eggs more like liquid eggs. It was very rubbery and tasteless. Our server was very nice and accommodating and did remove it from our check. This was the only good thing I can say about eating there.

There’s something about this place that made it look beautiful on the outside and attracts their customers. I just went in for a coffee and they weren’t very helpful. The place wasn’t even busy so I wasn’t too sure why it took so long to take my order it says«coffee to go» on the door so I went in. Got a «mocha» which was literally the most bitter tasting mocha I’ve ever had. I even asked the girl if it was sweet and she said yes but anywhere else would have a decent tasting mocha. Honestly the mocha tasted like an espresso shot. That’s all. Nothing fancy! And slightly overpriced for a small coffee. Starbucks is better or any other coffee is better than here.

Overall, great experience. We tried a couple of things, the NY Reuben was great, husband loved it, grilled chicken southwest salad was fresh, satisfying and very tasteful. We also had a clam chowder, chicken fingers were just amazing. Probably best chicken fingers we’ve had. The only con with this place is the wait, line was by the door but service and food made up for that.

When your party can’t decide between lunch and breakfast, Goldberg’s is the best choice. Tucked next to the Regal Cinemas, this is one of our family’s favorites. Try the grilled cheese, made with Swiss and pimento cheese, and it’s only $ 6.99 served with your choice of a side. And the onion rings?! Yes! The to-go entrees are also delicious, so for less than $ 19, you have tonight’s dinner ready for the oven. We love this place! And ask for Jeremy as your server. He’s awesome!

Wow! Just had the most amazing veggie and hummus sandwich! An absolutely delicious option for vegetarians or anyone looking for a light, healthy alternative. Great friendly service. Wish I was in this area more often to have this delicious sandwich(try it on wheat, yum!)

I went to the Goldbergs again and my experience was not much better. First of all, even though the server was very nice, the service was terrible. After waiting a while to even order and then a long time to receive any food, the order was wrong. I received the wrong soup. After that was fixed, it took a long time for anything else to come for anyone. My BLT, only had one piece of bacon on it, making it more like a tomato and lettuce sandwich. The other order, was a chopped liver sandwich, and it did have a lot of chopped liver on it and I was told it was good. Anything we asked for, including ketchup or napkins, Took an unreasonable amount of time.

Why waste prime Avalon space with this garbage? The most bland and disgusting roast beef I have ever tried, a dirty restaurant, and poor service(we waited 40 minutes for two sandwiches). They use the cheapest napkins ever(we only noticed because we had to eventually take our order to go and ended up having to go back to get napkins because they failed to provide any. I overheard staff being extremely rude to each other and manager was nowhere to be found. Save yourself the $ 40 for 2 sandwiches and a beer and soda and go somewhere else.

This is my favorite spot to eat at Avalon. I thoroughly enjoy the endless mimosa’s on the weekends. They have the best chicken caesar salad and veggie burgers. The oreo cake is life changing! I’m going to miss the summer weather as I prefer to sit outside and eat oppose to dining inside.

Terrible. The manager added«grilled chicken» to bottom of barrel soup that had no chicken. No refills on drink. Over salted food.

Nice location and pretty décor, but food and service were both lackluster. We tried this location for brunch, having had good food at the Goldberg’s Deli on Chamblee-Tucker location previously. Overall, the Avalon location proved a disappointing experience. My challah french toast was completely burned on one side – in addition to being dry and flavorless. Husband’s smoked salmon arrived on a non-toasted bagel, with nothing else. Cheese blintzes were unremarkable. Service was on the slow side, and rather rote. Meh.

I really want to like this place but it really is hit or miss. I’ve stopped to eat a few times because I live close by and sometimes the service has been incredible and the food served super fast. Other times it’s been disappointing for the price. You can’t beat the steak and eggs though!

PERHAPSBETTERFORBREAKFAST! We walked into this restaurant looking for dinner but they really only had sandwiches. As we were prepared to leave I notice a glass cabinet to my left with baked goodies. MMmmm! They had cheese danish, chocolate croissant, cinnamon rolls, red velvet cake and other delicious looking treats. I really needed to find something to hold me over until I could find dinner and this was the perfect place. I ended up purchasing a slice of what I thought was banana nut bread, but when I exited the restaurant and entered the light I realized that this was something different. I think that it was supposed to be pumpkin but it did not have a specific pumpkin flavor. It did have spices, pumpkin seeds, walnuts and raisins. It was very good and the ideal snack to eat outside on the plaza. Perfect! If you are ever in need of a quick snack or sweet treat, remember Goldbergs!

Before Moving to Avalon, from our first outing here from Atlantic Station, Goldberg’s was my husbands spot. My Husband fell in love with the Burger and pickles I love that and the fries. All the People are Amazing. Since moving here, this has become his morning ritual. You can find him and his friends 7:30a enjoying, not only the coffee and breakfast, but pleasant conversation with the lovely people of Goldberg’s. Next time you come this way, stop by, and take time to enjoy the atmosphere. Every experience is different. The service is Always the same.

I am still undecided about this place. The staff are lovely, friendly, helpful folks. They have a Coke Freestyle machine, yuck. Prices are reasonable, especially for Avalon. I ordered a spinach strawberry salad that for some inexplicable reason did not contain strawberries. My sweetie ordered a delicious prime rib sandwich, I was envious of his choice. The whole ordering/picking up process was chaotic. There are 2 places to order, but only 1 for food. I don’t know what you’re supposed to order at the other area. There’s also a sit-down dining area which makes the to-go area a very narrow, cramped place. It took a good bit longer to get our food than expected or acceptable. I think we’ll try again, that prime rib sandwich was pretty darn good.

Takes waaaay too long to get a very basic take out order. Disorganized service, lack of coordination. Regardless of the food quality the experience is terrible. Got a lox and bagel it took over 20 minutes waiting and being bumped by every other person who was trying to get a takeout order… The bagel was fine, I think everyone has had a Goldberg’s bagel, pretty standard. Ordered the smoked salmon platter and they really didn’t get enough salmon for this bagel. All in all, disappointing.

This restaurant has very mixed reviews so you have to come here with an open mind. I haven’t been to a real deli for a while so I was really looking forward to a good sandwich! The décor inside the restaurant was very nice. They had plenty of large LG TVs which displayed news and sports. There was a jar of pickle chips at every table along with other condiments and our server was fantastic! We asked her all kinds of questions and she was happy to answer every single one. Not only that but she also gave us refills and extra napkins without asking(which I really like). I ordered the Georgia Reuben with fruit. Instead of coming on rye, I requested it as a wrap which was no problem. It tasted delicious! This wrap had the perfect amount of sauerkraut to turkey ratio. I would definitely come back due to the Customer Service and food selection. They also serve breakfast ALLDAY! Loved that as well! Definitely check this place out!

Arriving on a Friday at noon, there was a wait for tables, but there was a take out counter with no line. Since it was just me, I headed for the take out counter. They’ve got all the sandwiches on that menu. They even had a Lox and Bagel lunch special for only $ 5.99. That’s what I got on a toasted sesame bagel. My order was ready in about 3 minutes, and I walked past the line to the benches outside. The tomato was mealy, and there was a little too much schmear for my taste, but otherwise, it hit the spot for lunch, particularly in terms of speed and price.

We decided to stop in for lunch to try out a new place. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. I decided to try the Turkey burger with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, and onions with a side of fries. The burger was cooked very well! It tastes great too. The fries are freshly cut and cooked. A lot better the those frozen fries that get dropped in a fryer. This place has a lot to choose from including breakfast options served all day. I will definitely be back to try more in the future!

Goldberg’s is a bagel shop on one side and a sit in diner style restaurant on the other. This place isn’t bad like the reviews may suggest or at least my experience last night on a random Wednesday evening wasn’t terrible by any means. Our waitress(Yvonne?) was great: She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. There was a separate menu for drinks from alcoholic to nonalcoholic. For our drink order, I couldn’t decide on coffee or alcohol. The next best thing!!! Coffee with alcohol in it. The Iris something(can’t remember the name – lol) was delish. Even my date agreed when he took a sip. The whip cream was strangely held up by a coffee stirrer. I guess it’s because the hot coffee would have dissolved the pretty whip cream too quickly. And yes, there is a kick of alcohol in it in case you’re wondering. And Yvonne made sure to check my ID as well. Lol. Don’t I look old enough?! Hehe. Oh. There were also some beer on draft specials and a $ 5 deal(margaritas, bloody Mary, and something else I cannot remember). The po boy I had was huge. It had corn beef, bologna, salami, turkey, and your choice of cheese(it comes with Swiss as the standard). You can have the option of it being hot or cold. I choose hot of course in this weather. Brrr… But it wasn’t hot though when it did come out. :/The potato salad I chose for the side was pretty good. Overall this place was pretty decent for a bagel/diner eatery.
