Great food at a high volume. Boh staff is amazing. Gonzalo is the truth. Don’t come here on a weekend and expect not to wait, place is slammed.

Came here around a little past 9pm with 4 other people after a night at the gym and our server, Peyton, was very sweet and very accommodating. I ordered the ahi tuna salad and it came out perfectly. I had a great experience here for the first time. Will have to come back.

We had our company Christmas dinner here and we ate in the outside patio area. They have heaters and we had a good time… I ate the chicken sandwich with provolone cheese, lettuce and tomatoes and it was delicious. This was my first time eating here.

Food is just as good as we’ve come to expect at the other Marlow’s Taverns. However, this patio and bar area is fun and inviting. Great place to grab something to eat before your head into a movie. BARSERVICE is great! Con: on the weekend or during the holidays the wait is usually super long.

We sat waiting for our food for over 45 minutes. When we asked about our food, the manager Jerry came over to tell us that steak takes a long time to cook(NO it does not, unless you’re turning it into lumber) & proceeded to argue with us. Never coming back here — the customer service is awful & the food mediocre at best. Update: our food never arrived — an hour after ordering! So we left. No one apologized & even acknowledged us. Save your time & money & pick a different place to eat!

Just paid $ 10 for my mouth to be assaulted with garlic, and my friends medium burger was a nice shade of half cooked and half raw. When we brought his up to the waitress, she responded with a defensive«sorry?» Then took the plates and disappeared. They did comp the burger at least, but we left immediately. 2 stars because other experiences have been adequate.

Place was located deep inside the mall and had a good crowd and vibe going on. Looks like your casual happy hour joint to watch games and have a meal at the end. We ended up ordering food and the basic tavern burger i think is what i ordered, was well cooked to perfection and tasted decent. Do visit for a drink if you are around, the waitress was great.

The drinks are awesome. The specialty drinks are always good. The outside patio is great. The service is very, very good. The food… not so good. I will only go to drink going forward. Burger is blah… the crab nachos were greasy the tuna app tasted as if it was frozen not sushi grade tuna… just not unique or special at all. Place is excellent to meet friends and have drinks.

Our children had asked if we could go to Antico Pizza across the walkway from Marlow’s Tavern in Avalon, but Marlow’s exterior looked so inviting that my wife and I decided we preferred to dine there. We asked if we could sit outside(at a table that happened to be a few feet from Antico). My kids still wanted the pizza we’d promised them, so they walked across the way and ordered. When we asked our waitress if our two children could join us at our four-top table, she said she’d ask her manager. The answer came back — NO. Your children will have to sit across the way on the bench outside Antico’s and you can look at each other. Hey, maybe we can wave to them occasionally. She said she would send the manager over to explain his decision. We were there another 35 minutes and he never showed. After we paid, I asked if I could have the manager’s card. A few moments the manager, Lee Reeves and imposing guy, threw the door open and came bounding out, asking if I was the person who asked for his card. I confirmed that I did. He said it was just policy because they had such a tight space. I showed him that our two children would have taken the two empty seats at our table so that argument didn’t really work there. I explained that I felt like when you’re in an open courtyard with other restaurants around, there should probably be a more liberal policy for seating.(My children actually ate their pizza at the outdoor seating of a restaurant next to Antico. I told him we wouldn’t be back because it was a generally unpleasant experience to be dictated to in that way after we’d already ordered our food. He said he hoped it wouldn’t cause us not to come back; but of course it will. The entire experience was soured due to a poor policy and a bad decision not to be flexible with it.

I met a fellow Unilocaler here for lunch and this was my first visit to this location. I looked over the menu and the seasonal offerings however, I ordered what I usually order, the Tavern Burger and fried okra. The food was good. I especially like the whole fried okra. The taste and quality was consistent with order from the location I have visited. I ordered a drink from the seasonal«Ribs & Whiskey» menu. Since I like Bourbon, I ordered the Garden & Gun. It is prepared with«Medley Brothers Bourbon, Imbue Petal & Thorn, Jack Rudy Grenadine and Bittermens Burlesque». It was a good cocktail. If you like Bourbon, I recommend it.

Marlow’s is a fun hip place to hang out for a drink or have a meal there. There are lots of TVs and a big bar inside. There is also outdoor seating and you can sit at the bar outside as well. It’s fairly dark inside and would make a good casual date place. We decided to grab lunch before a movie Sunday, and discovered they were serving brunch. Brunch consisted of some typical menu items seen on their regular menu, but it also included breakfast items. I started with a mixed drink that had grapefruit juice and St. Germain. I’ve got to buy some of this St. Germain stuff because it makes every drink good! My boyfriend and I opted for the fish tacos. I ordered a side of Chipotle mayo to go with them, which really made the dish. His son ordered some hashbrowns and breakfast sausage. He seemed to like them okay. My fish tacos were good, not great. I opted for the fresh fruit side. I have to say I’ve honestly never had anything that amazing at Marlows. It is never a top choice spot but a convenient one. I do have to say that they make a decent sangria, and my grapefruit drink was pretty tasty as well.

I ordered the double cheeseburger with blue cheese and a side of the jalepeno corn grits. The burger was pretty decent, although not in the same ballpark as say, Vortex or J Alexanders. However, the grits were dry and crusty on the top as if they had been cooked hours ago and left sitting.

Not terrible… but, the customer service was lacking. We waited for 15 minutes before a hostess came to tell us that they apologized for the delay in our service. Our waitress finally came 7 minutes later. The food was okay, and well conceptualized, but it was way too salty. The only real good thing about this restaurant was really the drink selection. Definitely not a lunchtime spot. It might be better for dinner – or just drinks – but I won’t be coming back here.

Here’s my problem with Marlow’s: every time I patron one, I wonder why I don’t get the burger. I see others do it and it looks so good, and then I wind up with something else random. I’m writing this down so I remember next time and don’t get the buffalo wrap and fish tacos and then drool away at someone else’s cheeseburger. Anyway. We came here on a Saturday night, when Avalon was cranked up with kids running around and folks milling about. I’m surprised we got seated, but we snagged an outdoor high-top. At times, this grew awkward when the people patroning the inside/outside bar behind me drunkenly bumped into me. Le sigh. This time I ordered the grilled chicken stack. It was HUGE. So huge, I took one of the pieces of grilled chicken home. It was good, but it needed hot sauce or something else to bring out the flavors(or maybe just more spinach). I always enjoy the okra and demand dipping sauce to come out with us. Yum. Food here is always good, but just ever so slightly off that great spectrum that its hard for me to give it a 4 stars, «Yay! I’m a fan! rating because its not a place I’d ever recommend. However, as far as chains go, its pretty good!

I met 6 friends here for lunch. The atmosphere seems like a nice sports bar. Our server was extremely friendly and very attentive. She was also very accommodating when we told her that we were in a hurry and only had 45 minutes to eat and leave. She took our order, brought out empty to go boxes and closed the tab all at one time. The menu is casual but was a step up from the usual sports bar. We ordered a few appetizers for the table. The asparagus fries were really good. We also ordered the shrimp and crab nacho plate, but I don’t remember tasting any crab or shrimp. We also ordered the hummus and vegetable platter, which was very generous in size. And we also got the firecracker shrimp, which was really good because the tempura was light and the sauce was perfect. We all ordered different salads for our main meals. The salads were mainly lettuce with very little steak/chicken. But because we were full from the appetizers, this was not an issue. It is not my top choice for lunch, but if I’m here again I’ll eat here again.

Had a great stop at Marlow’s tavern for a quick early bite. We enjoyed the Chicken flatbread and shared blackened fish tacos. Both were very good and had plenty of flavor! It was getting busy by 5:30 but we had Great service from Cameron. We will be back again.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to have a few appetizers and drinks in the bar area. I’ll start off with the positive aspect: the food was good! We had… Chicken Queso Soup: tasty and really good with pita bread Ahi Tuna Poke: probably my favorite — they don’t skimp on the tuna, which I appreciate! Asparagus Fries: they weren’t bad by any means… but we wouldn’t order them again Hummus with pita & veggies: I really enjoyed the hummus quite a bit Because our food was enjoyable — I’m sure we will return because we live close by. However, our waitress made it tough to enjoy our time. We were seated at our table for probably 5 – 7 minutes before she ever came by to get drink orders. By the time she got there, we had plenty of time to determine what we were going to eat and ordered everything at once. We(finally) got our drinks maybe 10 minutes later… and after an extended period of time, we also received our food. All in all — we were there for almost 2 hours! It really shocked me when we left what time it was and how long it took to get in and out. Not what I anticipated for drinks & appetizers on a lazy afternoon… Also, a side note that irritated me, when the waitress came by for a final check-in and asked if we wanted dessert, I asked for a dessert menu to check out the options… She nodded yes, and returned with our check. Cool. Guess I’m not having dessert? We wandered next door to Cru Wine Bar for something to satisfy our sweet craving.

Let me preface this review by saying I’m just not a huge Marlow’s fan. I really don’t even have a good reason for stating that, but it is a fact. I mean, do they want to be a sports bar? A family restaurant? What do they want to be? I feel weird going here at lunch because of the«bar» vibe(just weird to be surrounded by half-drunks at noon, somehow more acceptable in the evenings). I know I also get thoroughly turned off when I go to a place with a bar and the bartender/whoever is allowing children to sit at the bar. This is NEVER appropriate. Anywhooos, this particular visit was to the new Marlow’s at Avalon while we were waiting on a movie to start. It was very busy, as you would expect, so we couldn’t get a table and settled in at the bar. There was a definite drunk to the right of me but no biggie. I did notice(and I see this a LOT) the single men there received tons of attention from the bartenders but this gal, as part of a couple, sat needing a refill while watching the aforementioned drunk to get several beers. All of the single guys also had a tent-card in front of them with the bartender’s names written on them. They didn’t even bother verbally introducing themselves to us. Ordered a burger(the Royal something-or-other) and was told they were out. Okie dokie, you’re out of a burger? I’ll just order a different burger, fortunately that burger was in stock. It was burgerish, didn’t blow my skirt up or anything. My friend ordered a beer and they were out. A bar runs out of a very popular beer(Stella). Again, weird. Marlow’s is just an ok kind of place to me, it won’t be my first choice at Avalon.

I am totally impressed. Seriously. Cozy space, awesome local beer selection, good wine list, great service, outstanding calamari, fantastic fish tacos, and THENEWBESTBURGERINTOWN!!! I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Perfectly cooked. Beautifully seared. But tender and buttery in quality — the hub said it was a hand-formed patty that didn’t really want to limit itself to being just a patty — I AGREE! Slathered with an incredible savory tomato jam. I really can’t do it justice with words, you have to trust me and trot over to Avalon to have one for yourself. It’ll be the best Christmas gift you give to you this year, guaranteed! Also, right now you can grab $ 100 gift certificates for $ 80! That’s a lot of future burgers by my read ;)
