Great food and the portion was huge. I come here for lunch sometimes and it’s really good and fast service. Dinner is whiter but quality never fails.

Satay House is the closest restaurant to my workplace — it’s that or McDonald’s, folks — and for that reason, they’re a go-to place when I’m too lazy to pack a lunch and don’t have time to drive somewhere else. They’re a perfectly serviceable Asian fusion restaurant(the menu features Chinese, Malay, and Thai dishes but doesn’t seem to specialize in any of the above) but I’ve never experienced a meal that I felt compelled to rush back and repeat. I have always ordered off their extensive«lunch special» menu, which includes an entrée accompanied by steamed white rice and a cup of soup. These entrees are about $ 7 – 10, and for the amount of food you get, it’s a fair price and on par with other local restaurants offering lunch. I’ve never been hungry at the end of my plate, but I’ve never had enough left over for a second meal, either. That’s really fine — Satay House never particularly leaves me wanting more, but perhaps I’m ordering the wrong things. Many other reviewers have complimented the coconut soup. The broth is rich and creamy, but there are usually very few add-ins in my cup. Today, I received about a cup of broth with two chunks of mushroom(about half of a button mushroom), and I’m just not that excited about drinking a cup of broth. The General Tso’s chicken was disappointing. The chicken chunks are so weighed down with heavy sauce that they’re left more soggy than crispy, and the dish(served with a few slivers of pepper and single stalk of broccoli today) has none of the characteristic heat that it does in many other restaurants. Similarly, the massaman curry chicken is simply chicken in curry sauce — no potatoes, avocado, or any of the other hallmarks of a good massaman. However, and this must be said, their Thai tea is on point. Absolutely scrumptious. I could drink it by the boatload, but given how fattenin Thai tea is, that would likely be a terrible idea. In short — Satay House’s food is just fine when you’re nearby and don’t want fast food, but it isn’t going to become anyone’s favorite. There are many other local restaurants that are significantly better at or near the same price point.

The pad thai was one of the best I’ve eaten! I’ve been going around Thai restaurants looking for delicious pad thai to eat. Will be definitely come back here.

Out of all the reviews I guess I didn’t have a great experience. The lady in front argued with me about my order that I didn’t ask for it to be spicy. I told her xxxxx spicy and she said ok I give you Thai Hot. When my order came it wasn’t spicy at all. When I asked her I thought you made it Thai hot for me she said I didn’t and I didn’t say anything at all? I didn’t even know that their spice level was Thai Hot!!! And when I checked out she started to argue with me again! All I can say was WOW and I would never go back again!!!

This is a typical Lunch spot for me and my co workers. We all order something different but the Curry is really good. I’ve also ordered the Spicy Basic Chicken which picture I have uploaded. I like the Spice levels that are offered(1 – 10) so usually I order something in the middle, and its still spicy, yet enjoyable. Fast Service, helpful staff. If you are in Alpharetta and are looking for some good food, try it out.

Great value. 2 adult meals for $ 15. Much-improved service. However the stink of the bathrooms eminent beyond the bathrooms themselves. They spent a little bit of money redecorating the bathrooms but don’t seem capable of cleaning them properly. I would’ve given them four stars if not for that.

I picked this restaurant due to 3.5 reviews based on almost 80 reviews. But it is really disappointing. My food was $ 10.**, I don’t know how does it comes to $ 12.** eventually.

I love Satay House. My mom used to bring it home random week nights back when I was like 12 – 13 and now over 10 years later it’s still the bomb. Thai, Malaysian, Chinese fusion and you can’t go wrong. Curry is done right here(I’m literally amazed at the flavor every single time) and the lo mien is as good as any Chinese restaurant. If you’re feeling adventurous you should try one of their lychee or durian smoothies. The Thai iced tea is top notch and roti app is a must. Quality Asian food is hard to come by and this is the quintessential spot for me. Charming, authentic, reliable and GD delicious. One thing to note: if you’re a spice junkie then don’t be surprised to find their food isn’t high on the Sloville scale. Kind of like how authentic Cajun food(contrary to popular belief) isn’t doused in cayenne, neither is Thai food. If you dine there they bring a traditional spice tray to the table to spice at your own discretion and if you get take out then buy some Sriracha. But if you don’t have one on deck already you’re not living right. Anyway, thanks for 10+ of yummy food and the smiling Thai vibes.

We love this place. Food quality is great. Service is always good. the attached dumplings, Pad Thai and Masaman Curry is the best in the Roswell/Alpharetta area. They don’t sell liquor but they let you bring your own wine!

I recall eating here way, way, wayyyyyy back. When the plaza that this restaurant is in was more lively. I would have to say, I feel that either the quality of taste has gone down or the chef’s of days yonder have moved on. Ambiance: The pictures of the dining area that was uploaded back in 2011, are still of the same quality as of today. The décor hasn’t changed at all, but is still preserved and very clean. It’s quite a bit of character for a Thai restaurant. Food: Thai Coffee: for those only familiar with Thai Ice Tea, think a more caffeinated version. Bold, robust taste. Still has the taste of richness via the condense milk. Thai Chicken Coconut Soup(Tom Kha Gai): Two of my friends considered it pretty good. I think my taste buds were out of wack this day, it tasted pretty watery to me I think. The soup comes in a «hot pot» style with a lit fire in the middle. A serving size of 2, with plenty of chicken to match the amount of broth. Roti Canai: The roti canai was cooked light, fluffy, while still having a flaky, crispiness on the outside. I feel this was the only good part, as the paired potato curry had a day old taste to it that I couldn’t zero down on. Almost… spoiled? I’m not sure, but it wasn’t right. Tangy like almost. Spicy Noodles: One of my roommates was asking if this would be good to try. I told him to pick it with chicken and ask to make it more spicy. As I felt that most of the food was cooked more Americanized and the full Asian spices and seasoning was toned down on the other dishes we ordered so far. One bite after, and he was on his way of finishing his whole plate. Singapore Char Mee Hoon: This dish was a let down this time. The curry was watered down or the real amount of seasoning was no where to be found I think. I shared this dish with a friend and we really just picked at the protein. I was hoping that this place was more of a hidden spot as it’s down the street from me. Yet passing by after work to run errands, I can see why it’s empty not including how dead the rest of the plaza has become. Besides the McDonalds. The only other cars there belong to the Avis car rental. Summary: Stop by here for drinks and the ambiance. A lot of the dishes I feel are a miss. *I think if you’re Asian and grew up on eating authentic Thai food, it’s best to ask them to not hold on the spices here*

Excellent place for lunch; I’ve been here a bunch of times but never tried it out for dinner. They have really great lunch specials, so I recommend swinging by if you’re in the area. I always get the kung pao chicken, which is always on point. They also serve you soup before the main entrée — I always get the coconut soup.

This is a nice Malaysian/Thai restaurant in a suburb of Atlanta. I had their Roti canai which was very good. Had the beef satay which was okay. I would have liked it charred a bit more but it was still tasty and I still gobbled it up. Also had their cha kway tow noodles which I enjoyed very much. Service was very good. Prices were reasonable. I will visit again if I am back in the Atlanta area.

I don’t know what is going on with this restaurant, but the Fresh Basil rolls now have only one shrimp per roll when they used to have three. It seems like they are«thrown» together. The restaurant was empty the last time I popped in to pick up my carry-out dinner. I hope they’re not having financial problems. I’ve always loved their Masaman Curry, Fresh Basil Rolls and Pad Thai.

Satay house has never disappointed me. The coconut soup is amazing on a cold winter’s day. The beef Rangoon is exactly what I want, and the Pad Thai and Lad Na Noodles are great. One of the reasons I really like this place is that its open until 10pm on weeknights and 10:30pm on weekends, one of the few places in the area that opens this late, so when I work late I can always look forward to having a great dinner here after I get off work. The service is friendly and food arrives quickly and piping hot. The décor is fun too. Its a relaxing place to eat and I recommend it.

I like this place. The service not so much but the food is great. If you are ever in the area and would like to try some real Malaysian cuisine try their Roti Canai for appetizer and their Beef Rendang as the main entrée.

This is a good place to go for lunch. It’s been a while since we’ve been here for dinner. Green curry is my fav, but I’m branching out and trying the red curry. ;). The kids LOVE pad se ew, and they staff is always nice to our children. The one thing they need, is a little updating. But, service is so pleasant I don’t mind. You also get good value for the price.

Mmmmmm coconut soup. Start here! Next you should try an appetizer, the ones I tried are defiantely cooked to perfection. Then the dinners — I’ve tried about 3 or 4 now and every single one is what I would expect or more. 5 stars on the interior for the price. You’d expect for the average to below average pricing that you’d get a standard strip mall type Thai restaraunt but in actuality I’d go for quaint to romantic on the décor. 4 Stars on the overall food — it’s standard chinese and Thai fare that is done consistantly well. They offer delivery and it’s always been fresh and hot when I get it. I would say that in roswell/Alpharetta, this is a go-to Thai for sure!

It has been years since I’ve eaten here. I decided to try something from the Malaysian menu. I had the Kari Ayam Kering; it was good. It is Chicken and potatoes seasoned with Malaysian red curry; served with steamed rice. I got the lunch portion which was plenty, IMO. For the soup selection, I chose egg drop. There are other items on the menu that I may try also.

OH. MY. GOD. I would normally just tell anyone who is reading this to simply GOHERE. But as for every one who is also probably reading this, you probably need some justification. So here I go… Came in for lunch. Their«lunch special» is a total value(speaking to all my thrifty/frugal people out there!). I got the 3 flavor fish entrée for $ 7.25. Boyfriend got the hunan chicken entrée for $ 5.95. The entrée choices? If you’re not feeling«thai» then flip over the menu and go for the«chinese» choices… thumbs up! I am also the type that likes the water refills — no problem here. They kept that water flowing like it was niagra falls. I was such a happy camper with my consistent water glass being full. The entrees came with your choice of vegetable or coconut soup. We both got the coconut. In one word, I can describe the soup as «creamy.» It’s got that super coconut-y flavor, with that deep, creamy, half and half effect going on. Little bits of mushroom were floating on top, but if the mushroom wasn’t there you would get pure coconut/cream-ish broth. 3 flavor fish came out hot, evidence that they obviously had JUST made this dish. Not only that, but the exterior of the fish was fried perfectly with a crisp edge. They’ve got 3 levels of hotness, I chose the spiciest one and it still wasn’t spicy enough for me. *BUT* the 3 flavor fish was soooo flavorful — sweet/sour/sorta spicy — I didn’t really care if I didn’t get that spicy burning sensation I usually love. Hunan chicken has that kung pao flavor going on — sour and sweet — except with a lot of veggies and without the fried exterior. My boyfriend, who is an extremely picky eater, managed to nearly devour his entire portion. Impressed! Both entrees come out with a hearty helping of rice. Lastly, our service was superb… not only were they attentive without being overly pushy, but the food came out VERY fast. If it didn’t have that texture tha’t they literally just fried my fish, I would have thought it was reheated or something — that quick! Same with the hunan chicken, the vegetables had a nice crisp to it. A-MA-ZING. As for AMBIENCE? I know some people judge a place by its cover and I’m willing to say that it gives off a warm vibe to it. Wonderful decorations… the place made me feel like I was dining at a super nice restaurant. PERFECT for dates! Highly recommend and will be dining here(for lunch) when I’m in Alpharetta.
