The sushi is great! The service is fast, even the delivery is quick! Small mom and pop restaurant with a friendly staff. My favorites are the dragon roll and the spicy tuna roll!

Had another great meal here. Ordered the sushi boat and though it seems a lil expensive($ 55), it was good! Sashimi, a few rolls and soup and salad for two. We also had the basil rolls and they are always good! Nice atmosphere but a little warm inside. Will return!

I had the green curry(pickup), it looked great. Bright green and vibrant, the veggies were cooked great, but I asked for hot and it tasted like there was no spice at all. There was very little flavor at all actually, it was overall disappointing.

My wife and I really like Sushi Sumo. We find it reasonably priced and the food quality and service is very good. The place is small, so it can be tough getting a booth. Their delivery service is great as well

Place is very cozy which we liked. Service was decent. Unfortunately the food wasn’t. They do Japanese, Chinese, and Thai; but none of it well. Miso soup tasted like dirty bath water. Japanese teriyaki was served with no seasoning on the the broccoli and no other vegitables. Pot stickers were flavor less. Bleh

Good friendly service so two stars, but the food was only ok. We ordered a bit of Chinese, a bit of Japanese, and a bit of Thai. Nothing was great, pretty disappointing actually. Much better places to choose from, so won’t be returning.

Dined at the restaurant and I think this is the best sushi in the area. The sushi rolls all have large amounts of fish. The yellowtail jalapeño roll is a winner. Ocean roll with the lemon flavor is refreshing and full of zing.

Great sushi, great service, great meal! Sushi Sumo has high quality sushi at a reasonable cost. It is the best sushi I have had in a while.

I would like to give 3.5 stars, its good and very convenient for me. First, the staff is great — the girls at the front are super cheery and welcoming. The good was good — somethings quite good, some just ok. It was also very quick — I went in to order takeout and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. We mainly stuck to Chinese this visit, I’m anxious to go back for the sushi. Takeout: The dumplings(pan fried) were quite good, but the sauce was a little off — too much soy, not enough sweet. Wonton soup was good, and a huge amount for the price Chicken wings were good, right amount of crisp and not tiny. Chicken pad thai — just ok. The noodles were cooked perfectly and a good amount of chicken, but it didn’t seem like much else was in there, so they were a bit bland. But the portion was gigantic — I ate it for three meals! Cashew chicken — this was good also, my husband isn’t a fan of a ton of veggies in his meal, so he was very happy with the ratio here — and very happy there was no broccoli(carrots, mushrooms, celery and water chestnuts) Kids chicken fingers(sweet and sour chicken style). These were great — some of the best I’ve had — we were fighting with our children for them! Overall, it was good. I’ll definitely be back and hopefully the sushi will increase my rating from a 3 to a 4!

The food here is decent and the sushi is ok. The service is good as well. The reason why i gave it a one star rating was the delivery man. He was very rude to me because he did not like my tip that I gave him even though it was 20% which I thought was very generous. He has also said uncomfortable comments to me and asked me inappropriate questions in regards to finances. This is the third time something like this has happened with the same delivery man. So disappointed as well because the food is good.

I live close to Sushi Sumo(within the three mile delivery radius) so I thought I would try the delivery service. I have tried the Pineapple Fried Rice(great) and the Crispy Szechuan Beef(also great). My daughter loves their Pud Thai. Ordering online is easy and the delivery was fast. I’m definitely a fan!

Sushi Sumo is a decently priced place for Sushi in the Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Norcross area. I’m not sure what area it technically is… I’ve read three different descriptions that say each of those cities. i would say Alpharetta technically. ANYWAYS… on to the review! The food here seems pretty affordable priced. We had three rolls, the ginger salad and wonton soup. The soup and salad were good. Just as you would expect from any wonton soup and salad. We had the sumo roll, godzilla roll and I believe it was the seafood roll. Overall, the sushi was good. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something affordable and decent. I would not say this is greatest place for sushi but it is pretty decent.

I discovered this restaurant on Scoutmob(50% off your meal up to $ 15 off) in the Alpharetta area. It’s in a strip mall and I wasn’t sure what to expect out of such a small establishment. It’s doable. The food is just okay. They have more than just sushi. As a matter of fact, I recommend trying foods other than the sushi. The sushi was editable but the hot dishes looked better for the price. They offer many hot dishes such as Mongolian Chicken etc. I greatly enjoyed the refillable hot green tea! It was really good on really cold day. The Ginger salad was decent. A cute family next at the table said the restaurant was even smaller before and it recently expanded to the whole 10 tables it has today. It sounded like a take out type restaurant that changed recently. They liked it very much! The servers were very attentive and refilled the drinks regularly. Overall, this restaurant is doable.

Went to SS a few nights ago with some friends. I had the spicy coconut chicken soup. It was yummy, but definitely spiced a bit hotter than I am used to for coconut soup. The potstickers were fantastic for me, not too doughy, tasty filling. I had the Chirashi for dinner and it was sublime. THey added sesame seeds, a bit of spice, and sauce to the rice and I cleaned by bowl. My only complaint is we sat near the door and it was COLD. Will definitely be back, with a sweater.

Nice place. The pad Thai was good, as was the peanut-avocado sushi. The shrimp tempura sushi was really great(this course would get 5 stars easily). My kids, my wife and I — all liked it. We’ll be back soon.

I was a bit dissapointed that it was not an authentic Japanese, but mixture of Chineseand Thai. But all dishes that I ordered were very nice. Basil rolls were fresh and the sauce was just well flavored. I loved fresh shrimps in the Tom Yum soup. Tuna tartar over avocado was quite tasty. Crunch spicy tuna rolls were also nice. I wish their service were not pushy, though. I would come back for a quick meal, later.

The ambiance is to die for! Low lighting with romantic jazz music… I was in heaven from the moment I walked in. The server was very attentive and friendly and made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. The menu has a wide range of Asian selections to choose from such as Thai, Chinese and Japanese. The prices are very reasonable and its hard knowing where to start. We ordered spring roll and Pad Thai(I had shrimp and my husband had beef). The spring rolls were very hot and fresh and tasted delicious. I was very impressed with the hand rolled technique. It came with two different sauces(a spicy mustard and something similar to duck sauce but more sophisticated). When our Pad Thai came out it looked and tasted very authentic with fresh ground peanuts and a side of lime. I was happy because some fusion restaurants will give you peanut butter as a garnish or a side of lemon… The prices were very reasonable and we cannot wait to return and try some of their other selections!

I would say that this is a 2.5 star review. When you first walk in the first thing you realize is that the place is tiny which I actually love because it makes it feel very homey. The sushi was nothing to write home about, I had the asparagus roll and all I tasted was the vinegar in the rice and it seemed a little under cooked. The boyfriend’s sushi looked good, but he wasn’t so excited. He said it was nothing to write home about. I also had the tofu with vegetables in a brown sauce and that was tasty. The tofu was cooked perfectly and the brown sauce had some really good flavor. Next time I will try more of the thai offerings they have. I did notice that the place had quite a take out following. I saw more people doing pick up orders than diners in the restaurant. The service was a little slow and bare bones with not a whole lot of personality.
