Be careful. I called to understand different available tints and a rough estimate for how much it would cost if I did one wall that opened into my patio deck vs. 2 walls, and he was NOTHINGBUTRUDE! He said minimum cost just for him to come out is $ 450, and he can maybe do one wall in that or may need additional cost for the other wall but bottom line was to get him there to even know he wanted 450. I called two other companies that are willing to come out, explain the tints and give me an estimate.

My wife and I have a townhouse in the city with 20+ windows facing West. Between 2:00&7:00PM the sun shines directly on our unit and the solar gain can increase the internal temperature by as much as 15 degrees. Our problem was compounded by the fact that our heating/cooling system is not and cannot be dual zoned. The result was temperatures of 80+ degrees in our house on warm days and even higher on hot days. In the past 2 years we have installed energy efficient light blocking shades and ceiling fans with minimal success. This season we met with John Parker from National Security and Window Filming to discuss installing window film on our 20+ West facing windows. John guaranteed at least a 5 degree difference once the window film was installed. I am a HUGE skeptic and didn’t really buy into it, but as a last chance effort to solve our problem agreed to move forward with the work. For those wondering, the cost of the film was half the cost of installing the honeycomb shades. The crew worked quickly, cleanly and was done in less than a day. We were immediately able to tell the difference once the film was installed. The best part was that the film still allows almost the same amount of light in, it just doesn’t allow the heat in. We have experienced several 80+ days since the install and our house remains cooler than ever. If you have lots of windows and have trouble cooling your place, I would strongly recommend meeting with John and exploring window film as a solution.
