The Optometrist is nice enough but his testing is not thorough. He missed me being far sighted in one eye and near sighted in the other and only diagnosed me with astigmatism. This was my first ever exam so I really didn’t know what to expect. A few months later I went to Target Optical in Orlando and they did more tests and took their time to get it right. The staff at this office was not very friendly or attentive. They are just in there to punch the clock and leave. No one adjusted my frames for me when I picked them up, which I didn’t realize was typical until I went to a legitimate place. The frame selection is abysmal, everything is so dated. The staff would act annoyed when I asked any questions and it took just over 2 weeks for the frames to be ready, which was over a week longer than my turnaround time with Target.

This place is a mess. The doctor was friendly at first but seems overwhelmed and not very organized. The whole operation seems extremely unorganized, as a matter of fact. Despite the fact that there are at least 4 women working at the front desk area, nobody knows what’s going on and nobody can answer a question accurately to save their lives. Don’t even think about getting a phone call returned, even if you’re angry and have been calling for days. Eventually they got tired of me being angry at their terrible service and started being rude so I asked for a refund. Even that didn’t go smoothly though, and I had to go there twice before I actually got a check.

Staff was unorganized and he exam was not thorough or complete. I made an appt with this practice because it was convenient and within my network coverage I made my appt two weeks in advance. Upon my arrival I was told that I did not have an appt but they would fit me in. The staff had difficulties locating my coverage, the office was hot and dirty and the hard sell on the limited and dated glasses began immediately. I was brought into a small room the housed several machines that appeared to be in disrepair and was given the air puff test and that was the end of phase I of my exam. The doctor then escorted me into the examination room where he too began the hard sell of eyeglasses. I told him I simply wanted a single vision lens exam and explained that I basically only use glasses for driving. The doctor continued to try to sell me progressive lenses, transition lenses and readers. He wiped down the testing apparatus with some sort of alcohol wipe that burned my eyes. Then the«exam» began which consisted of a few flicks of the lenses and looking at my eyes. That was the exam in total. The actual exam took approx 3 – 5 minutes and again the hard sell of the eye glasses. The doctor actually said several times that he was«not cutting any corners.» I feel as though this practice is bamboozling the insurance company. I had to ask three times for a copy of my prescription before it was given to me and had to ask to have my eyeglasses returned to me… similar to a car dealership keeping your keys! I knew several follow up calls would ensue trying to sell me eyeglasses but luckily for me they have entered my phone number incorrectly which I noticed on the prescription. I have contacted my insurance company and they are permitting me to reschedule an exam with a different doctor with no additional cost to me as I do not have faith in the prescription that was issued.

I ended here because they accepted my insurance. I thought the office staff was unorganized and not helpful. The exam itself was okay but they screwed up my wife’s contact prescription. The selection of frames was minimal. In fact, I ended up going somewhere else to get my frames and glasses. Will not be going back.

Love Dr. Reed. Due to insurance had to switch from another eye doctor, and Dr. Reed was excellent. He really did an in-depth exam for me and even explained some of the on-going eye issues I have and provided solutions. None of which my previous doctor did despite many pleading attempts. I highly recommend. He accepts insurance too. Fantastic, pleasant and friendly doctor.
