Avoid the Altamonte Visionworks at all costs!
There was a time that they were a decent place to go for a quick eye exam, but no more.
The doctor side of the house is dirty, seating stained, and the staff so overworked and unorganized it is laughable. I have been going to this location for almost 17 years, but never again.
It took me a few weeks just to schedule an appointment this year because I kept calling, they would put me on hold, forget about me, and I’d have to hang up. On my third try I finally sat on hold and waited 25 minutes, then had a co-​worker call and remind them I was on hold. I finally got my appointment. Yay! Or not. I showed up for my appointment that Saturday and was told, «Oh, the doctor went home early.» Oh gee, thanks for calling me!
I scheduled for the following Saturday. Came in, signed in, was never greeted, and after 30 minutes past my appointment time I finally got someone’s attention and they didn’t even realize I was sitting right there waiting for my appointment. They over-​charged me for the visit because they read my vision benefits incorrectly, so now they owe ME money.
Fast forward to one week later — my husband goes in to get a copy of his records. He had an exam just last year. They could not find him in the system and told him to leave and come back tomorrow after they researched this. He goes in today and it turns out they could not find his record because they were entering his first name as his last. First name is William. o. O
What has happened to this place???

I will not go back to this location! You get a friendly greeting when you step inside but then you are ignored. You have to search for your own frames, the frames are limited, outdated and of so so quality, they take too long to wait on you, are rude and become impatient if you have questions. The frame selection for the sale special was very limited. No surprise.
I knew there would be an upcharge for polycarbonate lense, no glare, scratch protection on their Special, but they were overpriced for the quality or lack of. I was quoted several prices at different locations for the lense without a clear explanation. So when I asked about it at the Altamonte location I got a passive aggressive response. Similar to, if you don’t like it leave you’re taking up my time. I wasn’t able to have a choice of lenses and prices.
I still had two frames held for me after some negotiation. I came back to find they did not have my frames on hold, did not have me in the computer AND LOST (threw away) my script. I had to drive to the place I got my eye exam for a copy.
I will NEVER return to this Altamonte location. I suggest Florida Mall VisionWorks for great service and selection.
