Ooof. I can’t speak to the other services this salon offers, but I do NOT recommend this place for their waxing services. I’ve been going to salons for leg waxing since I was a teenager and the experience I had here is easily one of the worst I’ve ever had. It was very painful(done properly, leg waxing is really not that painful) and I ended up BRUISED with lots of stray, unwaxed and broken off hairs. Megan was friendly and chatty, but her waxing technique left a LOT to be desired. I honestly don’t think she had ever waxed anybody’s legs before. For starters, she didn’t get her wax hot enough, and she had a heater on in the room AND had me lay on a heated bed. So, when she tried to spread the wax on my legs, it was too cold and gloppy and wouldn’t spread properly, but then the heat from the heater and the bed made it melt a little so the wax wouldn’t set properly. This means, the wax didn’t grab on to the hairs like it should have, so every time she tried to rip off a strip, it didn’t rip out most of the hairs. Which means she was mostly just pulling on my leg hairs. This can cause hairs to break off at the surface of the skin, which it did with me. Then she would sort of mush the strip with the cold wax on it back into my hair and rip again. And again. And again. For anyone who has ever had anything waxed, they know that repeatedly going over and over the same spot is very painful. This can also cause bruising, which it did with me. She waxed my legs in very small sections, and instead of pulling off the whole strip in one quick yank, she would pull it off little by little, a couple of inches at a time. This is so much more painful than having it all ripped off at once because it really prolongs the agony. Despite her doing such small sections, and having me flip over twice, I still ended up with lots of patches of unwaxed hairs all over both legs. My hair is quite dark and my skin is really pale, so it’s not like she couldn’t see my hair. I was also COVERED in wax at the end, much more than normal after having my legs waxed. The whole process took twice as long as it should have, and at the end she complained about how much wax she had used on me. Well, start by heating your wax to the proper temperature and you won’t use nearly as much. Wow. Speaking of being unprofessional, I was a little uncomfortable with the racist story she told me about some other customers and I won’t even go into how I had to wait in the lobby area for ten minutes before my appointment while she chatted with a woman who turned out to be her mom and picked at a pimple on her face, which I could see in reflected in the mirror from where I was sitting. At least she washed her hands before she started waxing me. The final kick in the teeth was when I handed her my debit card and she informed me that she only took cash. That would have been nice to know when I made my appointment. I didn’t have enough cash to also leave her a tip, but I didn’t really care.
