We wanted to go to Felices for the Wednesday night parmigiana special but when we arrived at 7 pm they told us they were closing for lack of business. So we went next door to this place. Entirely different price point! We shared a wedge salad-very good and I had a pizza which was good not great. Could have been crispier. My husbands been entrée was fine. Place is beautiful and service was good. Just very expensive.

Three glasses of wine and a pizza = $ 77(not including tip). If that seems reasonable to you then have at it. Oh, the steak is $ 55 if you don’t want pizza. That’s more than The Palm, 1770 House and Meeting House. I can’t say whether«most expensive = best» but will update this if I ever decide to order it. The food is absolutely fine, decent even. To think that it’s worth these prices is to operate in an alternate universe.

3 stars is a pretty generous for this place but it’s the neighborhood consensus so I’ll roll with it because our waiter really tried. The food was better than average but the service & kitchen were definitely out of synch. It felt like it was the opening weekend of a high end restaurant still trying to work out the kinks. Table was set but missing utensils, water glasses weren’t filled, and it felt like we were asking a lot of our waiter but only requests that normally wouldn’t be necessary. Main recommendation is to simply avoid it on a weekend if you’re actually interested in eating. Atmosphere is great but sit inside until they work out the bizarre airborne sewage issue on the patio. I’d highly recommend checking recent reviews to ensure the air quality has improved before booking a reservation.

I know everyone’s opinion is different as are our experiences. And my experience was so bad I was prompted to write a review, something I rarely do. It was a pleasant summer evening and we decided to sit in the restaurant’s back garden. It is an enclosed space that abuts the public parking lot in Amagansett. About 5 minutes after sitting down and as we were about to place our wine order, a smell came wafting in that can only be described as cesspool-like. Our server, to his credit, informed us that this would happen probably 3 – 4 times during our meal and that the smell passes quickly. He was right. It lasts about two minutes or so but they are an unforgettable two minutes. Maybe the food would save the day? Two of our group ordered Rigatoni Bolognese made with pork, veal and beef. They were told that it was delicious and far better than the choice they wanted to make. This dish was a complete fail judging by the full dishes at the end of the dinner and the cries of never coming back under any circumstances. My veal Milanese was inedible. The Neopolitan style pizza appetizer was dreadful and tasted like an old shoe with tomato sauce and mozzarella. How do people get away with serving stuff like this? My wife, who never complains, ordered a skirt steak that she said she wouldn’t give to our dogs. Enough? The restaurant is close to our home but I would gladly drive out of my way to go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Great happy hour. Really enjoyed our food and drinks. We got the picante pizza(excellent), Mahi tuna, lamp chops and wine for the table.

All that’s wrong with the Hamptons all in one place. Poorly prepared, over priced food with terrible service. After we sat down we were served a few pieces of inedible stale bread, accompanied by no more than a tablespoon of olive oil. Bad start. For appetizer the Caprese Salad sounded good. Burrata with sliced tomatoes and basil oil. The«salad» consisted of a small piece of ice cold burrata(which should be served at room temperature) with a few drops of what was described as basil oil and 4 tiny slices of a tiny tomato. All for the ridiculous price of $ 18. We then sat there for 20 minutes waiting for some attention. Water would have been nice or perhaps someone to remove our used plates, or god forbid even our entrees. Nothing was forthcoming. At one point the acting manager came over and asked if we were done with our bread. Perhaps she thought we had finished our meal rather than still waiting for it. I explained to her our dissatisfaction with the bread, burrata and service. To give her credit, she was the only person in the restaurant we saw doing any serving or bussing of tables. But her reaction to my complaints was they were short handed and«It’s August». Being primarily a seasonal summer business August is one of the few months they’re open! If they’re short handed perhaps they should limit the number if tables they’re filling. Why jam as many people as possible into a restaurant when you know you don’t have the manpower to serve them. After a few more minutes of waiting we decided to forget about our not to be seen entrees and asked her for our check. I can give one star because she was kind enough to tell us to forget the check. We left. Not likely to return. I’ve spent 40 years visiting and living in Amagansett and I can honestly say this ranks as my worst dining experience. A shame.

Wonderful cuisine, great service, warm ambiance and an innovative menu. Just the right mix of entrees. I had the tilefish special on the recommendation of our server, and it was outstanding. It’s also very reasonable for the Hamptons area.

Went to Sotto Sopra for dinner last weekend and had a wonderful meal. Started with salads which were enormous and tasted terrific. The calamari was wonderful. I always rate a restaurant by their breadbasket and theirs was great. We all shared 2 delicious pizzas. For an upbeat dining experience get to Sotto Sopra.

Service was excellent! We waited a little while for the table but it was well worth it! We ordered the salmon and the seafood bouquet and they were both amazing. I would highly recommended this place! I heard they have a happy hour special and I will be back to try it out!

The 2015 summer season has started and hopes again rise for improvement at Sotto Sopra. Unfortunately, no such luck. The $ 35 flute was found inedible by both of the people in our party who ordered it. What’s more, the waitress didn’t notice. Trying to be nice we didn’t complain. Due to its Good location in the heart of Amagansett village and pleasant décor, we may be back. But next time we will stick to the salads(which were good) and pizza. Very expensive and poor entrees.

Sotto Sopra opened for the season this past week, and we had dinner with friends last night. The restaurant was not yet ready for prime time yet. The pizza appetizer was disappointing as were most of the entrees. The fluke orreganato entrée was the most disappointing, as it was tasteless and was a appetizer portion size for $ 31.00. Service was spotty and not up to par. They never once put the correct dishes in front of each of us, and even the hot tea was served cold. When asked to describe the dishes, it took two of them to get it right. Noise level was extremely high as the big doors were closed and the wooden walls don’t absorb any sound. We will be back, but will wait until September for them to sort things out. This should be our favorite local restaurant.

Could not have been worse. Food was completely inedible. «caesar» salad was just lettuce, water, and parm cheese, that had obviously sat out on a line before being brought to us b/c the cheese was partially melted/sweating. Pizza was bland, sauce terrible. crab meat was not fresh. the rest of the entrees came cold/flavorless and the veal, w hich they claim they are known for, is just an overbreaded breadcrumb. On top of all of this — -the back patio sits next to a septic tank or something — -totally gross.

Food inedible. Caesar salad drenched in bottled dressing and topped with soggy, boxed croutons. Ugh in every bite. Overcooked asparagus as a «side». Special pizza… really? Ice cold dough/sauce with unmelted tiny cubes of feta, blanched and unseasoned broc di rabe, whole calamata olives, and chicken masquerading as cardboard chips. No wonder getting a table was no problem… any positive reviews posted by owner or investors.

I went here last night with my wife. We had a 6:45 reservation, and we’re greeted by a nice girl who sat us directly across from the pizza oven. I asked if we could sit somewhere nicer, but no. This was their first offense. She sat us down with no menus, which was offense #2. Our waitress appeared and didn’t mention anything about the happy hour going on. I had to ask about specials. We ordered two glasses of average Malbec. Ordered the caprese which was a blob of burrata and six sliced tomatoes. No oil or vinegar, salt or pepper. Had to ask for all those things. Offense #3. Our main course came, which was the roasted chicken, which was okay. We had a side of mashed potatoes and the Brussel sprouts. Potatoes were okay, but the sprouts sucked. They claimed to be sautéed, but they were steamed and then burnt in a frying pan. Midway thru the meal, the hear from the pizza oven was getting to be a bit too much, so I asked our waitress to turn on one of the overhead fans near us. She looked at me like I was talking another language, and the fan never got turned on. For desert, we had a chocolate Carmel cake with cookies and cream«gelato», that the backup waiter brought out with no forks. I was so done by this point. Never going back here again.

Love coming here for drinks and pizzas at the bar. Especially when the doors are open. Clean, classy atmosphere and the perfect place for beginning the night!

I went here with my family, as they have grown to love this place. I love that they have both a happy hour and a pre-fix special. I had the calamari, which was not overly fried, and melted right in my mouth. I also had their linguini and clam sauce which was a bit spicy(i love spice!) and very tasty. For dessert, I had the baked cheesecake which was also good. Our waitress was overly friendly and eager to help us(hover much seriously!). The only thing that was not great was the cappuccino, which they made twice for me and still was too weak. When I return to the hamptons, I will be will returning here, no doubt.

Horrible attitudes on the part of the staff. It’s as if we’re spending our money and doing them a favor by being in their presence. What’s it going to be like when the summer crowds are there. This is the second and last chance for this over priced, arrogant, extremely mediocre restaurant.

What a find! Don’t let the 4 star review fool you, I don’t give out 5 stars to ANYONE! This place is fantastic. Great ambiance, super attentive service and the proprietor was fabulous. The food was absolutely wonderful and moderately priced for a restaurant of this quality in the Hamptons. The crowd was lively but not overbearing averaging mid 30’s to mid 40’s. I love if and will be back soon!

We had a great meal here. The bread is yummy, always a good sign. Crispy fried calamari, grilled figs with cheese, crostini and spiced walnuts came out first. Both excellent. Zuppa di pesce with chunks of salmon, hake, clams, shrimp, and half a lobster. The 12″ pizza was gobbled up. Thin crusted, with sausage liberally sprinkled between slices of pepperoni. The noise level is high, the bar up front was packed. Soft lighting against warm wood panels feels cozy.

The ambiance is great! The staff is very accommodating! It’s the best food I’ve had in the Hampton’s in years! Came out for a friends Birthday celebration and this truly was the perfect place! Definitely«5» Star restaurant the owner Ricky made us feel like family! Thank you!
