I recently got married at Gansett Green Manor located in Amagansett, NY. Since I live in NYC, I didn’t know the area well and desperately needed to find a hair and makeup place for the big day. I came across The Salon and Day Spa and decided to do a test run in over the summer with my now mother in law. We were so pleased with the trial for our hair and loved how amazing our makeup turned out. I booked them immediately to help with my big day. Needless to say I was beyond ecstatic at how great my bridesmaids, mother and mother in law looked. Everyone had a great time getting ready — we were allowed to bring in bagels and mimosas while all 12 of us of got ready. I am drawing a blank on the name of the woman who did my hair, but I was told she was the best for up-dos. My hair was flawless and I didn’t have any issues for the entire day! It was so intact it was perfectly in place the next day :) Elena did my makeup and one of the best compliments my now husband gave me the day of our wedding was how natural I looked — he was worried I was not going to look like myself. Elena went above and beyond and even came over to the venue before our ceremony started to touch everyone up. I was so pleased with everyone I worked with and recommend for others to check this spot out! It was a great experience!

Irecently moved to Amagansett, from Port Washington, and have been looking for a salon to have my hair cut and colored. I was very hesitant to try the local salons as most prices were very high. Finally after dragging my feet I decided to try the salon closest to my new home. I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices, great service and friendly staff and owner. I have found my new salon. My hair looks great and I must thank Joyce for her beautiful work. I also booked a pedicure and massage, and had the best massage I have ever had. My back hasn’t felt this good in years! My pedicure was relaxing and I felt well taken care of. A five star experience.

I think the negative reviews must be outdated. Just went for a pedicure and it was a perfectly good experience. All the staff(greeters and technician) were very polite and professional. The salon was bright and lovely. The pedicure was in a clean spa seat with a massage function that worked well; whole thing took 30 min. Four stars instead of five because for $ 45 would have loved more of the«pampering» than the 60 second leg scrub and lotion application. Also the polish was a tiny bit messy in spots but nothing I couldn’t pick off the edges myself here and there.

if possible I wouldn’t have given this«spa» any stars. Absolutely horrible service, poor haircut quality and a witch of an owner. Stay away, try any spa up the road in East Hampton. This one needs lessons on courteous attention to customers.

I feel lucky to have found this great little gem in the Hamptons. The services I have received here are facial, shellac mani, pedi, spray tan, highlights, blowout and hair cut(total style change). I had an important event they got me ready for. Great highlights by Chris and awesome blow out by Joyce. Went to see Joyce again when I decided to take out my hair extensions and she gave me a great shaping cut and blow-dry. The salon has a great positive vibe and I have enjoyed each time I’ve gone there.

I had a pedicure at the salon and day spa at Amagansett Spa. The best pedicure in a very long time. Worth every penny. I wasn’t rushed and they actually let you feet soak!!! The salon is clean, friendly and very professional. The staff greets with a smile and couldn’t be happier to bring you good service.

I had a blow out here last Saturday with Joyce and I loved it! Everyone that worked there was so nice! The salon was very clean and bright. Two friends came with me — one ended up getting a mani, blow out and make up done and she looked amazing. My other friend didn’t have an appointment but wanted to see if they could style her. They look her with no problem! I will definitely be returning.

I’ve been to this salon about 8 – 10 times over the past few years and I think I’m done. While I’m usually pleased with the outcome of my hair, it’s hardly worth the assembly line feel. I know we’re in the Hamptons and things are expensive but I expect better service. I went in for a color and cut once and I spent 10 minutes or so while my stylist put color in my hair, sat for 30 minutes, then went to someone else for my shampoo(she was wonderful), and then sent me off to a 3rd person to get my haircut! Upon paying at the end I was given 3 envelopes and expected to tip all 3 people… who I spent 10 – 15 max with each person. I’m typically a generous tipper but what service did I receive when I was with 3 people in about 60 – 75 minutes?! I think pretty much every time I’ve gone I’ve been told I need to tip at the end. It’s not my first time at a salon, I know I’m expected to tip! It’s rude to be told every time. Another time after having my hair colored(w/out a cut) I held off on the blow-dry as I was going straight home for the night and didn’t feel it was necessary to pay the extra $ 40+. After shampooing my hair, I was sent up to pay without even a towel dry! I’m serious. I was literally dripping wet while I paid and had to ask for a towel. Thankfully one nice stylist who was free at the moment asked if I wanted a quick hit w/the hairdryer so I’d leave w/out dripping as I was putting my coat on to leave. So it’s a nice salon and they do a nice job but every time I walk out wondering why I go back. Slim options out east, I suppose.

Will never return to this place again! After I left I immediately called another salon to see if they could fix the disaster that was now my hair. There was so much wrong with my visit but I will narrow it down to write on here. I went for highlights because mine had grown out a bit over the summer — simple highlights, the stylist could have just followed the pattern that my hair dresser had laid out(many other stylists have done this for me). Instead it looks like I had no highlights done on the top and the bottoms are not even the same color as when I walked in, all caramel and not blonde at all! She had to reglaze my hair and did not shampoo the glaze out — just a light rinse. so I left with my scalp BURNING. When I was leaving the receptionist told me to «take care of the hair washer». Obviously I was going to do so and I had the money in my hand already. But for the receptionist to tell me to tip the employees was out of line and extremely unprofessional. I like to go to the salon for a relaxing experience not for someone to mess up my hair, tell me I am wrong for not liking it, and to be bossed around. I would expect a more professional salon in the hamptons. you definitely do not get what you pay for here. if you need to get your hair done GOSOMEWHEREELSE!!!

another under-arm waxing to add to the list! 3 stars shared between the friendly(but not creepy) aesthetician and the fact that they could take me right away. the missing two stars are a result of a) double dipping the stick in the wax(Seriously??? I am paying $ 22 for a wax and you can’t use a new stick every time? just lazy, I say!) and the fact that the front desk person spent the entire time while I was paying on the phone with someone asking about some benefit event they were in the process of planning for that weekend. I am not begrudging the need to speak with someone on the phone, but if I am standing there trying to give you tip money for the woman who worked on me and asking if I am «all done?» and you are chit chatting away on the phone, that just doesn’t scream awesome customer service — for me or the person on the horn really. anyway — would I go back — maybe in a pinch. but I think I’d try someplace else first. feh.

Never again. I had a cute pixie haircut and went in for a trim only to emerge with a disaster. Instead of Jean Seberg, I looked like Frankenstein sans the knobs on the neck. The hair stylist really didn’t know what she was doing. And to top it all off, it wasn’t cheap! I’ve been working against this haircut with hair gels and oils for two months now since it was too short for another hair stylist to fix it. Didn’t think anyone could mess up this bad. Will stick to people I know next time.
