Great selection of fresh produce for brain-bending prices, excellent hot food selections as well(a bit iffy in some areas, but the green chili is fantastic). Super impressed with this place, and will be stopping in when I go through Amarillo for some authentic Tex-Mex grub.

Located on the east end of Amarillo just off I40 and Grand, Amigos is easy enough to get to. Part of the United Texas chain of supermarkets, Amigos targets the Hispanic market and frequently offers up deals that blow away anything their cracker oriented grocery stores have. Like limes 20 for $ 1 when they’re on sale 4 for $ 1 at United or Market Street. Or NY Strip $ 3.95 a pound when you buy them in the huge cryovac packs. You can also get fresh chiccarones which, OMG, they’re so addictive! I particularly like the meat department which generally has great deals, plus they have ready to cook chicken fajita mix available by the pound and it’s awesome. The produce dept generally has good deals, particularly on citrus, and their weekly sales flyer can be found online at . Weekly sales start on Wednesday and run through the following Tuesday. As for the other review that claims they don’t carry Goya, she needs to get her glasses checked. They have every Goya product under the sun. The only thing I don’t like about this store is the attitude I sometimes get from the cashiers. The younger ones are generally very nice, even friendly, but some of the older ones need some happy pills before they come to work. I don’t need them to kiss my tail, but a simple«Hello how are you» shouldn’t be too difficult for them to master.

No Goya products and when you try to get the attention of one the employees so you can ask some question, is like you bothering them. I am Hispanic and I thought I might be able to get good service since we Hispanic are very hospitable but I got none. Magen you check out the girl give you attitude if you bring your recyclable bags so I will not going back unless I can’t find something in Walmart or other stores.
