I should have turned around when I walked into the place. A cloud of cigarette smoke hit us and was not pleasant for my child or wife who has asthma. I thought all restaurants in Amarillo were smoke free but They must view themselves as a bar. This could be why the only people here were old smokers and alcoholics. Our server was nice enough and helpful but the rest of the staff was rude and inconsiderate. I guess that is what happens when you employee passive aggressive enough kids. The food was decent but the prices have sky rocketed since last I was here. My daughter who is three got the tablet on the table and started playing a game. I was charged $ 2 for this which I would not have minded if I knew about it first. I would ink there would be parental controls and when I brought it to managements attention they did not care. I will not be back and should have checked the reviews first but it’s an Applebee’s so I figured they were all the same. That is no longer the case as things have changed and I will not be back.

Tried to take my family here, but turned around and left as soon as we were brought to our table. The whole placed reeked like cigarette smoke. When I go out to eat, I want to smell food, not stale cigarettes. I felt like I was taking my 3 year old to eat at a bar. We will never go back to this location.

The food was good the service was good! The problem is their bar area is smoking! The bar is not walled off from the eating area. I thought we walked into a smoke filled pool room. I don’t think they will pay my dry cleaning bill! Even though the food was very good I don’t think we will be back Come on Applebee’s!!! Get with the trend and have your complete Resturant non smoking!!!

Let me start by saying the food we got was actually pretty good. My issues were: 1. The service was slow. 2. The servings have shrunk. 3. Both my wife and I did not receive what was ordered. Her order was to have Mexiranch dipping sauce and I ordered the BBQ fries. The sauce was eventually brought and I ate the regular fries(they were good). I submitted a review to Applebees about 10 days ago and don’t have a reply. It was fine.

The food was hot, tasty and service was great. We had honey pepper chicken with Mac and cheese, French onion soup. Standard fare but hit the spot. Generally consistent from location to location.

Meh yet again. Our waiter Matthew g was more interested having us use the table computer to order than doing his job and taking our order. My husband asked for oil and vinegar for his salad and Matthew’s response was«is that the purple and white stuff? «When he brought out the cruets they were both caked with grease and sticky. No telling how old the vinegar and oil were. Very chintzy with the wet naps with the ribs. Rushed the check.(On the table before we got halfway thru the food.) The one good thing about this place is the Caesar salad and the fried shrimp.

While I have had a decent meal here months ago my recent attempt to dine there was the worst possible. It all falls on management and the attitudes of the workers. My wife and I went there for a birthday lunch around 12:30 on Sunday. The parking lot had plenty of spaces vacant so I didn’t expect much of a wait. We walked in and the waiting area was packed and we put our name on the list, but as we stood there and looked around we noticed more empty tables than needed for the people waiting to be seated. There were three employees hanging out up front not really doing anything. One was taking names. We counted nine dirty tables and booths that no one was attempting to clear. We waited about ten minutes and no progress was being made even though there were workers present with nothing to do or at least they thought that there was nothing to do. At no time did I see the management come up to take charge of the place. One of the waiters starting clearing a couple of the tables in his area, but no one was seated when he finished. We were getting impatient when another couple came in and sized the place up much quicker than we did. when they saw the dirty and empty tables and the packed waiting area they turned and left with a negative comment or two on their way through the door. So we followed suit and left for another place to eat. It was as bad or worse but I’ll leave that for another review.

Very slow lunch service. I feel sorry for all the people that are trying to get back to work. The kitchen needs some work with their workflows. We weren’t the only table spinning our wheels. I know it is busy at lunch but that is your one job.

I have been here 2 times so far and I had very good service both times. The first time we sat at the bar and had drinks and appetizers. The drinks prices there are very good and they tasted decent. The bartender during that visit was very good, he made my wife a lifesaver shooter which she enjoyed. The baked pretzel sticks are a must try My second visit, I sat in a booth with a couple coworkers and I had drinks and they had food. It was a very good experience. Overall I am a fan because of the drinks specials and pretzel bites I think the rest of the food is just okay.

Two out of three times we’ve gone, the service was terrible. The manager will only make excuses and blamed us for having eight people there and that slowed the food down. WHAT? The pasta had sat under a heat lamp until it was all stuck together. Of course, the last time was even worse. Two of our party if six had to have their food boxed to go because the kitchen couldn’t prepare everything at once. Others had finished their dinner but only after our guests insisted. That will be our last time at this Applebee’s. by the way, don’t bother sending an email to the corporate office, no one cares. It was unacknowledged and unanswered after several weeks.

We ordered takeout from this Applebees on Soncy. I ordered chicken fried chicken & got chicken fried steak with watery gravy. My friend got a Carsar’s salad with old, limp lettuce. The Reuben sanwiches ordered by out husbands were also stale.
