Stayed here for a recent business trip. Overall, stay was just ok. Its was a bit off from my regular courtyard experience. This is a 4 story location next to the interstate. It can get noisy on the side next to the highway. I will ask for something on the other end of the building next time. Hotel staff was friendly. Especially front desk. It was nice to be treated nicely by hotel staff. The room seems well worn, and on this occasion the bathroom wasn’t cleaned well. I brought this to the attention of the the management. There are plenty of food options outside the hotel, so wouldn’t bother with the in-house amenities. Not only expensive, but limited selections as well.

We stayed here for 3 painful nights to visit family. We are from California. So yeah it’s a culture shock. But. This may as well be a Days Inn. Wow. What a dump! Not cheap, though. Shall I count the ways? For the sake of saving you from being tricked in to staying here, too? yes. I will. Even if I feel slightly guilty for ripping this place apart, this has to be done. *Reeks BADLY of cigarettes(non-smoking room!) *Squeaky and sloppy beds(mattress pad not big enough and comes off in the night) *one extra blanket for 2 beds(we were cold) *filthy comforters covered up by coverlets *Dirty bathroom(greeted by a stranger’s long pube upon arrival) *No screen on window(which means we can’t even try to air out the stinky room) *freeway noise even with window closed *view of crappy storage yard area and parking lot *smelly lobby *unprofessionally staffed(2 women hanging out watching tv) once they were both drooling so badly over a fireman checking in that I had to stand and wait with my child because they were too consumed with flirting. Embarrassing and unprofessional. *inefficient coin operated laundry machines– dryer seems to have a clogged vent. It took 2 hours to dry one normal size load of laundry. Huge time suck when you’re on vacation *Upon housekeeping visiting: STILL dirty. Bedding unchanged and made sloppily.(I will share photo) *Not a real Starbucks or restaurant or bar(as advertised) more of a 2 employee hang out where they’ll casually charge you for the overpriced food items available(much like a more personal vending machine) we paid $ 13 for a burned microwave pizza. I wanted a cocktail but when I asked about cocktails I received a blank stare that assured me this person wasn’t trained to tend bar. *no microwave in room. Microwave in vending area DISGUSTINGLYDIRTY. which was a bummer because my son had a tummy ache and needed his warm rice bag. *entire building just smells badly. There’s some air freshener when you walk in that is almost worse than the general odor of mildew and cigarettes. *a mob of people in the pool on Saturday that clearly were not staying in the hotel. You could tell because no one used a key and had their own towels. People were holding the door open for each other and seemed to be coming from a banquet room where they were having a baby shower or something. The parents weren’t even watching their kids. I have a feeling it was an employee’s kids. It was stressful trying to watch my kids and theirs meanwhile inhaling heavy duty chlorine fumes in the poorly ventilated indoor pool area. We will surely choose a different hotel next time. I’m re-thinking the Marriott name, in general. My sum up: «I expected more from a varsity letterman»(Reference: Breakfast Club)

Good hotel for what it is. Very large rooms(had the double queen) with tons of space. They’ve re-done the lobby/bar/restaurant to make it semi-hip, which is cool. Nice little workout room and indoor pool. It’s not the Ritz, but a good place to stay the night for sure. It’s in kind of a chain hotel/restaurant wasteland near the freeway, so there’s not really anyplace to walk around other than parking lots.

New lobby and rooms are nice. Every single person working here is super friendly and very helpful.

I had a pleasant stay, it was a nice hotel, the front desk was pleasant and helpful. It was nice to find out they had a workout facility. My room was nicer than I had expected.

This was definitely an unusual Courtyard and not quite the typical Marriott style. The same lady who checked us in had her kids with her and was also serving us drinks at their ½ price happy hour. It was just OK. They have a serious fly problem. Other than that it wasn’t the worst Courtyard I’d ever stayed at. Memphis still owns that title.

Normally, Marriott hotels are a reliably nice place to stay, but this one has serious management problems. It is quite common for them to tell customers they are booked up even if they are not due to there being several rooms left dirty. This happens because the housekeeping staff has ridiculous turnover due to sub-standard pay and constant overtime. Calls are frequently ignored at the front desk due to understaffing, andthey seem to have trouble keeping room keys properly activated. The bar is consistently understocked and has very poor selection. The prices are highway robbery, too. $ 12.50 for a double crown & coke; I am not kidding. While this may be normal in other areas of the country, there is not flat corporate price– it’s up to the discretion of the regional manager in Lubbock. Someone should tell him that $ 2 you-call-it specials are quite common in this town, and nobody likes to be gouged, neither weekend joe nor business traveller. It’s not like they have some sweet bar with a great cocktail list… the bar is on wheels. And the restaurant is awful. Closed 11 am — 5:30 pm, and they’re chronically unable to make half the menu items. But management encourages the staff to «push the menu» anyway. I’ve heard them encourage staffers to substitute chicken fried steak patties in an order of chicken parmesan, for chrissakes! It’s also difficult to get service because they make the bartender double as waitperson, as well as requiring him/her to run room service on occasion. And the lobby has a fly problem. You’d think for the prices they charge, they could do something about the vermin. From the looks of the glass-top coffee table, the lobby doesn’t see much cleaning. Nor do any of the common areas, either. The pool is atrocious. All in all, this particular location is a very poorly run operation and a black eye to Marriott.
