Tried it for the first time tonight. Food was delicious. It was a little slow coming out though. Will definitely try it again

First time for the Longhorn steakhouse, started with an appetizer of corn fritters, they were very good. We had a porterhouse steak for two, we asked for the steak to be done medium and it was a little bit on the rare side but other than that it was an exceptional steak. We had sides of loaded baked potato and sweet potato, both were very good. We each had a salad I had the mixed green salad, and she had the Caesar salad, both were good. The waitress did a great job she was there anytime we needed anything without being overbearing. We will definitely be returning to the Longhorn steakhouse!

We’ve been to Longhorn about 6 times since they’ve opened. The food is pricy but that’s what you expect. It’s delicious and totally worth a try. However, do not go expecting good service. Out of the 6 times we’ve gone, we had good service once. AND that was because our hostess was great in finding us the perfect table for our party, not because of the waitress. On our most recent visit, we waited over an hour for our food. When we got it, mine was cold. COLD. I didn’t send it back because I wasn’t going to wait longer. The time before that… we ordered an appetizer, the kettle chips. They were good. Giant portion for a really low price. We received it pretty fast, too. We never got the bread he went to get 3 times. We then got our entrees before our salads. He had one other table but was in the back most of the time. Not good. All in all, go try it out. The rib-eyes are amazing. CFS is awesome. Everything I’ve had is good. Just don’t go expecting good service.

Out for a late birthday dinner, both my husband and I Had Prime Rib, no way we could eat it all. Tasted very good. Our waiter(Timmell) was terrific! He was very attentive, and polite.

The only reason I’m giving this place a 2 star rating is the price to taste ratio. The building itself is nice, generous portions, waitress was good but the flavor was BLAND. I mean no taste. What was touted as a sea salt crusted new York strip had 0% flavor. And it cost over $ 20 just for the steak. There was a side of fire roasted corn on the cob with a «Mexican crema“sauce that had parmesan cheese sprinkled over a side. Looked nothing like the photo on the menu. The corn was tough. The chili shrimp appetizer was even bland unless you happened to pick up a pepper with the shrimp. The Caesar salad was fair. They serve a small loaf of sliced bread with butter. The bread had a somewhat nutty flavor. Everything was cooked correctly. But NO flavor. And for 2 of us to eat with no dessert and 1 beer was over $ 60. I’d suggest going to outback or Texas Road house if you want flavorful steaks.

My family’s favorite restaurant! Have been to this Longhorn many times and they never disappoint. The red rock shrimp is fabulous and the lemon-blueberry cake is amazing! All of the staff have been so nice and always go above and beyond to make it the best dining experience.

Not only did we have to wait for a table it was dirty and we had to stand while they found cleaning stuff. There was grease still on booth seat had to ask to reclean. The waitress after taking our drink orders asked us if we wanted to order or I want my beer or not I said I’d like to have my beer first and then she asked me what I wanted to eat. I thought well good she didn’t hear me so ordered my steak and so did my daughter. After I finally got my beer that was after my salad she tried to take my salad Cuz on the edge of the table. Once we finally got our Steaks my daughters is overdone mine was under done. I will never eat there again.

Nice atmosphere but extremely noisy. The food was good but I ordered the pecan strawberry salad which came without pecans. When I told the waiter it had no pecans he shrugged and told me they were out(In his defense, he did not know until I asked about it). The tortilla soup was tasty but very spicy and more like chili than tortilla soup. I don’t think the wait staff was well trained in «helping» the customer with the menu

I am relatively new to Amarillo. I have eaten at many eateries, fine dining and regular mom-n-pop places. LongHorn takes the cake though! There is no better steak in all of Texas! My kids and I just ate at the Amarillo location. My son ordered the Spicy Chicken bites and the homemade chips as an appetizer. They were both hot and delicious. It has been a while since Ive had homemade potato chips. They were great. The kids meals are ample ranging from Steak to soup/salad. Good portions, drinks included. My girls ordered the sirloin and chicken fingers while my son had French onion soup and Caesar salad. I ordered my favarite — the Flo’s 8oz filet. I added their 7 Pepper seasoning(ask for it!!) it came out beautifully mid-rare. My potato, loaded and fresh … All in all a wonderful meal. I had good service, a true Texas hospitality. Since I have made Amarillo my home I have experienced some great food. LongHorn keeps that tradition going. =)

I have been twice. Both times the food has been great. My first experience, my service was amazing. My second experience not so much. I actually witnessed a male employee tell an elderly woman who had come and asked if he could help get her ticket(I assume they hadn’t seen their waitress in a while and he was standing at the computer) to which he responded, «Maybe go find someone a little less busy. I am trying to close out fifteen tickets right now.» Unbelievable.

I hate to leave a bad review because the food, when we finally got it, was delicious. We waited 1 ½ hours for our food. In our party of five we got one over cooked steak, one undercooked steak, one wrong drink, and one long black hair, which we consoled ourselves by deciding it was from an Angus. The steaks were redone and while four were delicious, one was inedible but we were tired of complaining. For all of this, we were given ONE free dessert. Now, we were not planning on getting dessert so really, there was nothing done about this. So, food, when properly cooked, gets a B but the extremely long wait, too high price, and mistakes made it a less than pleasant dining experience. The manager bragged that they are the largest restaurant chain in the U.S., or the world, I can’t remember, and that they do everything by the book, and just had a health inspection. Unfortunately, they missed the hair that was on our plate so this boast was meaningless. For the price(over $ 120.00) I would expect a lot better.

I went for lunch with a friend & we ordered the chicken avocado wrap & the spinch & feta chicken. the wrap is really good & fresh tasting, but my chicken was a garlic-fest. it had over 10 cloves just on the one piece I recieved. it was very overpowering & didn’t mesh well with the other flavors. the décor is generic & it looks/feels like a chain. I think this restaurant is branded as nicer/fancier but the waitstaff wears jeans & the décor isn’t anything fabulous. we were not greeted at all by the hostesses when we came in, we had to walk up & ask to be seated {we live in texas, y’all…be friendly} & walked out the door without a «thank you» or «see ya next time. our waitress was fine, not super friendly but not rude either. all in all, this is an average restaurant with mediocre food. if you’re looking for a delicious steak & superb service, just head next door to saltgrass.

Longhorn went in where Country Barn used to be. Right across from Saltgrass(a Landry’s steakhouse), so naturally I compared the two. Here’s my 2 cents: Atmosphere [B+] is open floor plan with a half wall dividing rows of booths. Really takes the intimate feel right out of a steakhouse. Service [B] service was a little slow, although the restaurant is fairly new and management is still working out kinks… I’d expect more out of an upscale establishment. Cuisine [A-] was good. We tried the ribeye and the sirloin(rare & medium rare respectively) with mac&cheese, corn-on-the-cob, house salads, complimentary bread, fried green tomatoes, and grilled shrimp. Now while I could get very«Chef» on this one and critique little details, I’ll just say this… it was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Price Point [B-] is a bit high compared to similar concepts. And when weighing everything, I would have been comfortable at this price point of the service, and ambiance matches the quality of the food… but it didn’t. Overall, when I’m in this area and I’m looking for a steak… I’m going to park a little further west and enjoy Saltgrass again.

Well well well so I get it the restaurant is new here in Amarillo so maybe my expectation are just a little to high but Geez we waited almost two wks to let them get the kinks out!!! Is that not enough to time??? We get the and of course the are busy which we knew that would be the case no worries it was understood sit at the bar waiting for a table but decided to just stay there since yhere was not a lot going on there. Probably the mistake of the night. We order drinks that came in a short time then put in an appetizer order to try out some things, well let’s begin the food came out cold the mushroom where at room temp like they had been sitting out to long shrimp was over cooked and the batter was super salty we where pretty hungry so got through it. Placed the order for our food which was said to include bread that they raved about with sides and soup. The soup came out cold so my fiancé didn’t want to eat it which that was heavily salted as well… Finally the food came and let’s just say the disappointment didn’t stop with the other two items we asked the bar tender what he’s favorite was and he told us so being fans of a good steak we ordered it which was suppose to include a sauce that had tomatos on it but that wasn’t the case so we waited a few mins that brought mines out but not hers so another few mins pass before we could eat by this time our food is getting cold their service is super slow and let’s just say it was a major let down they offered to give us giftcards for our next visit but there won’t be a next one so we declined that offer. Sorry this is long but wanted to give the full story shouldn’t have cheated on saltgrass because these guys have a long way to go before they are ready to compete! Service was not great extremely slow food was luke warm at best and taste wasn’t worth it if give them 1 star the place was nice tho looked good on the inside but that’s about all they had going for them!

Came here early(4:30 ish) and got seated right away, but any later and we would’ve been waiting a while. As of this review the place just barely opened, so as time goes by this won’t be as much of a problem. The décor is kind of an upscale, abstract western theme. Booths and tables available and there was also a cocktail lounge. Now on to the food. We skipped appetizers because we wanted to try the desserts. Lots of appetizer selections, however. They bring warm bread which was sweet and soft. All entrees come with salad and one side. The Caesar salad was par, not more not less. The green salad my wife had was tasty with nice red diced tomatoes and croutons. I ordered the hickory salt crusted NY strip with the corn on the cob. VERY flavorful and tender steak, I was impressed. My wife also tried a bite and loved it. The corn was served in the husk which is kind of a mess, but it was sweet and crisp, not over done, and had Parmesan sprinkle which was tasty. My wife had the plain ribeye and she liked it though she said it was a bit tough, and liked mine much better. My daughter had the White Cheddar and Bacon«stuffed» Filet, although the cheese and bacon were on top, not in the center. Very tasty, and being a filet it was appropriately tender. And yes, they have a kid’s menu, as well, prices started around $ 5. For dessert we split the Blueberry Lemon Butter Cake and the Molten Lava Cake. The lemon cake was out of this world – I would come here just for this cake! It was super moist, with a custard topping and fresh blueberries. Delicious! The molten lava cake was horribly rich, which you might expect, but the vanilla ice cream helps tame it a bit. Very good and a hit with the kids. The price for 3 adult entrees and 2 desserts, 1 kids meal and no cocktails was $ 99. The average entrée here was about $ 23. The appetizers and desserts were all in the $ 5-$ 7 range. It definitely made the cut, and is worthy of 5 stars in my opinion. My steak was probably the best I’ve had in town, thus far… and the lemon cake sealed the deal.

We decided we wanted to try out Longhorn Steakhouse — so glad we did! The wait to be seated was 45 minutes, surprising for a Friday night! Our waitress was very sweet and personable and she remembered us from one of her other serving jobs, which was cool. She took great care of us. The honey wheat bread they served was fresh and very good. I had to cut myself off so I wouldn’t spoil my appetite. I ordered the Blackberry Jack Honey cocktail… It was okay, VERY sweet, so if you love sweet drinks this is for you! Between the 4 of us we had the Fried Green Tomato appetizer and the Jalapeño Shooters appetizer. Both apps were pretty small — the fried green tomato dish had 4 tomato slices and some greens along with a dipping sauce. I really loved the flavor, and the tomato component maintained its firmness, a huge accomplishment. The jalapeño shooter app was 3 jalapeños stuffed with cheese and fried, each in an individual shot glass with a zesty citrus sauce. They were pretty good, but I think I prefer the traditional bacon wrapped jalapeños as opposed to deep fried. Our entrees were a hit, all around! Ashley ordered the Renegade Sirloin and Redrock Grilled Shrimp — everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. I didn’t try her sweet potato, but it looked great! Nick had the Smoky Garlic Outlaw Ribeye, also perfectly medium rare. The seasoning on his steak really knocked it out of the park! I need to learn that recipe. I ordered the White Cheddar and Bacon Stuffed Filet — which was less«stuffed» and more«smothered». My steak was perfectly medium rare, and the jus was flavorful. My only comment on the dish would be that the cheddar and bacon made the overall experience very salty… I probably drank 4 glasses of water. It wasn’t by any means unpleasant, but if you’re watching your sodium, stay away from this one. Travis ordered the Shaved Prime Rib sandwich, which was delicious and served with horseradish(LOVE). I would definitely order this entrée for lunch. For dessert we all shared the Lemon Blueberry Cake(which won’t be on the menu much longer). It was so delicious, and quite large. The cake was moist and fluffy, the lemon topping was tart and refreshing. If we make it back in before they discontinue this dish, I need to have it again. The bathrooms were clean and every staff member I passed said«hello» or «goodbye» to us. I think Longhorn Steakhouse will be a new regular place for us.
