The Wild Cupcake

I usually am not big sweets fan. But I enjoy this place a lot today. The cupcakes weren’t very sweet whIch I love. The icing was not very heavy either. It satisfied my sweet tooth but it doesn’t make me feel guilty either.

Being greeted by the most infectiously happy person EVER was enough to seal the deal for me. I was impressed by the nicely decorated shop and the choices of flavors offered. My kids and I devoured every morsel and took a dozen home to share with the rest of our family.
The only thing that makes me sad is that I live too far away to visit here regularly. What a gem here in Amarillo. Cupcake wars winners too!!! How awesome is that! You can tell by the quality ingredients ;). My favorite so far (because I haven’t tried all the ones we took home yet) was the black velvet. Chocolate lovers dream for sure… the frosting was ahhhhhmazing.

my friend & I picked up cupcakes while we were downtown for lunch. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake & she had the natural velvet. both were pretty bland & not very flavorful.
the owner was super friendly, I just wish the cupcakes had a better flavor.
may give it another try, but not anytime soon.

So glad we gave The Wild Cupcake another chance. We got an assortment of cupcakes to which I can’t remember the names but remembered the euphoria I felt eating them! (There goes my diet!!!) They were perfectly moist, not too sweet, and the topping was fluffy and oh so rich.
Overall, very glad we came back to give it a try again. Nicole was super friendly and helpful. If you’re in the area, give them a try, if you have before, and didn’t think too much about it, give them a try again! You won’t be sorry! At this point, if I were to ever move from Amarillo, I would be heartbroken because there would be no more cupcakes from The Wild Cupcake. :(

I wish The Wild Cupcake would come to New York City. Yes, that’s right — i have not found cupcakes this good in the city where you can get everything. The key is that they are not overly sweet (Magnolia, ahem), but light and perfect and tantalizing. My favorites that I had during my time in Amarillo were the Strawberry and the Gingerbread, each with just a dollop of lightly flavored buttercream deliciousness on top, instead of a coma-​inducing swath of sugared icing.
I really hope this business thrives, because they are doing beautiful work! Get thee to the Wild Cupcake!

The best cupcakes in town! They’re like perfect homemade goodness. Not too rich and not overly decorated to distract you from the lack of true flavor. Plus, the working ladies in there are always great for a laugh.

sorry to say but i took one bite and had to spit it out. im thinking it must have been an off day. we came in and grabbed a few of the last remaining cupcakes. id heard the stories and what not so was excited to try them out. every single one we had (salted caramel, café mocha. german chocolate) did not live up to the hype. my first bite was all buttercream and unfortunate, it was just butter and salt. it was so off-​putting i could not take another bite and spit it all out. i tried my sister in-​laws and moms and the buttecream was the same. simply whipped butter and a lot of salt. i was shocked to say the least. im really hoping that was just a bad day because if that is what it took to win cupcake wars, then cupcake wars is simply a sham.

Absolutely adore these cupcakes. Unlike many other cupcakeries that serve cupcakes with three inches of icing that weighs 47 pounds and can cause the onset of type 1 diabetes just by looking at them, The Wild Cupcake can satisfy a craving for sweets without putting you in ICU. Everything is made from scratch and they’re light as air with their famous meringue frosting. SO glad to have them in Amarillo and it’s always fun to stop by and see the ladies and gawk at the inspiration board!

Trendy and stylish almost to a fault, just the sort of place you might expect to stumble upon in the tonier areas of a much larger city. The delightful young women manning the counter couldn’t have been friendlier or more welcoming, and the cupcakes were delicious. Here’s hoping this business really takes off!

We stumbled into this little shop after lunch this afternoon. The staff was amazing and so much fun! The cupcakes were delicious. Downtown Amarillo really needs this kind of business to revitalize it. I will be stopping in whenever I visit my fiancé downtown!

Stopped by after lunch with a classmate, and I had the French toast cupcake. The frosting was delicious! I still prefer to have toast, but if I could slather the frosting on it, I would be over the moon. We also didn’t realize they were winners of Cupcake Wars — Mary Poppins theme. Would love to taste more from them.

My husband and I found this little gem while we were visiting family over the weekend. When we found out that the owner had won Cupcake Wars we just had to check out the Wild Cupcake.
First, I called ahead and ordered a dozen assorted cupcakes so we could try a variety of flavors (salted caramel, crème brûlée, s’ mores, maple bacon, red velvet, vanilla birthday, and chocolate mocha).
When we got to the store, we walked into the cutest little shop. We were warmly greeted by the owner and the woman I spoke to on the phone. We had a fun chat and they indulged me with stories from the tv show.
The cupcakes were delicious. This was definitely a fun find. The S’more and the Maple Bacon were probably my favorite, but I enjoyed all of them. My husband was a little disappointed that the frosting was whipped cream-​ish. He like more of the buttercream frosting.
