Painting with a Twist

I went with a huge group of people on ¹⁄₉ and it was fun, but it was a little hard to follow the instructor because it seemed that she was incredibly drunk which only progressed as the night went on. It was pretty hard to understand anything towards the end. It was the majority of our group’s first experience with painting with a twist, so it was honestly a little disappointing. It definitely seemed like a fun place, I just wish we had a better experience with the instructor.

I was lucky enough to participate in an «at home» Painting with a Twist party. It was AMAZING! The Art Instructor was so talented, patient, great at giving step by step instructions that made our paintings turn out beautiful! He was engaging and funny and brought along a great playlist that turned our painting party into a karaōke session! I would highly recommend any Painting with a Twist location over ANY other byob painting experience.

I scheduled a private party here for my wife and our friends at Painting With A Twist in Ambler and it was great! What a great surprise and fun event, even for those in our group who were skeptical.
I was able to communicate via email with the site and set up the party months in advance. Selecting the painting could have been easier, there were so many to choose from and I had to make sure to only
Select a 2 hour class instead of a 3 hour. Once that was all figured out I felt pretty good.
Looking at the FAQs on the site I was lead to believe the private party could hold up to 30+ people (I forget the exact number) but for our party we maxed out at 24, and actually had 2 people who had to go on the waiting list. That was annoying but in the end it all worked out.
We brought in beer, wine, scotch, snacks and food and had a blast. As advertised, they did provide cups and wine openers, we brought in extra stuff — just in case. Surprisingly the painting was easy and almost everyone was proud of their work. I could do without the silly names for the brushes, but that is just me, I’m sure some people like that silly stuff.
It was really neat to see how well everyone’s painting turned out yet how uniquely different they were. A member of the staff came around and took pictures of the event, for private parties/​birthdays etc it would be really nice if they could give us a copy of some of the good pics. Having a staff member to help bring around more paints and paper towels was really nice. As was the mid painting break they gave us for food and drink refills.
At the end, the hand washing/​clean up time could have gone smoother, as many people needed to wash up or use the bathroom and with limited restrooms the line stayed 5 deep for way too long.
All in all — this was a really cool event that worked out wonderfully. I don’t know how many of my crappy paintings I want around my house but for the right special event (birthday, work party, etc) I would definitely go back!

Went for the first time today, and it was so much fun! I’m definitely not an artist, but our instructor stepped us through it and showed us how to do different brush strokes to make it look cool! Definitely going back when I find another picture that I like!
