We went there for our anniversary and decided to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful summer evening. Staff were super friendly and the place is really nice. My wife had the salmon and I had the steak but both of them were pretty mediocre and nothing especial. The steak was juicy but there was basically no sauce and the vegetables were pretty blunt. All together we enjoyed the evening but not so much the food.

We stepped in here because the fair on the common was not quite ready to go. My husband had a beer he loved and we had great snacks. Lisa was the bartender and she was great!

Dined here with friends last evening. We had been here for drinks with the same friends months ago. We were headed to a concert in NoHo and our friends made reservations here. We had an early seating at 5:45 and was greeted by the hostess who was very friendly. The waiter took quite a bit of time to come for drink orders. Not that many in the restaurant yet but two weddings going on in the facility. One would think that he wasn’t working both. Our drinks took pretty close to 15 min to arrive and the waiter disappears again for quite some time. We do order and our apps arrived relatively quickly but then our dinners took an extended period of time. The waiter did come back to the table when the drinks were so late and say they were being worked on. Same with when the meals were delayed. The apps were the best part of the meal. I had the muscles with chorizo and the sauce was so good I broke my no bread rule to sop up the liquidy goodness. My husband had the tuna tartar which had perfectly balanced flavors. Our dinners arrived and by most standards the portions were small. I had the duck with polenta which was perfectly cooked but lacked flavor. It was bland and required basic seasonings but even with that there was just not pizzazz. The monkfish too was cooked perfectly but the flavors were bland. The tagliatelle pasta was the the hit of the four dinners. The best part of the meal was a red quinoa amuse-bouche. We looked at the dessert menu but was short on time as the rest of the meal took took long. They had some interesting selections. For the price of the meals I would say eat apps outside and dine elsewhere for the main courses. Bottom line too much coin for what you get.

I visited 30 Boltwood with a group of six on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We made a reservation and did not have to wait at all upon our arrival. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and how the dishes were prepared. He was friendly, welcoming and offered exceptional service throughout the meal. The fine dining atmosphere was classy without feeling stuffy. The only thing holding me back from giving 30 Boltwood five stars was the limited brunch menu. I personally think there could have been more staple breakfast items on the menu. Ultimately, I chose the Vegetable Frittata which was good but it definitely could have used more seasoning and less time in the oven. Despite the food being somewhat of a let down, the beautiful atmosphere and well above average service created for a lovely afternoon brunch. I would definitely recommend trying this place, especially with family!

I went to 30 Boltwood for the first time this weekend. The atmosphere inside and out were unique and made my experience for me. There are a few reasons why 30 Boltwood did not receive 5 stars from me. The food did not disappoint but if you are looking for a classic brunch menu this is not the place. The menu had limited untraditional options that were a little on the pricey side. Another reason I would not give it five stars was due to the service. It was not our actual server who lost them their fifth star, it was the service of the manager on duty. Our server was friendly, well trained, attentive, and personable. He went above and beyond for our table and his other tables around him. The manager took the time to talk to every table around mine but not mine. I am not sure if he didn’t check in with us because we were a group of 6 college students, but he didn’t seem to think our table deserved a second of his attention. Overall, I personally enjoyed my time at 30 Boltwood. I would recommend going if you have not tried it already, I just don’t think this was a place that fit my needs.

I visited 30Boltwood for the first time, this weekend, for brunch with a group of friends. I was looking forward to dining here, and it didn’t disappoint. While I found the menu a little on the limited side, I settled on the vegetable frittata that was delicious. The place is beautiful, inside and out. The service was excellent — our waiter was friendly and very professional. He was attentive to our needs and took the time. For a place to casually enjoy a meal and a drink with good friends, this spot will definitely be on my list. I encourage everyone to check it out at least once!

Went here for Brunch for the first time with a group of friends and was pretty satisfied with the experience. The menu is somewhat limited, including some traditional breakfast/lunch items like french toast, eggs, salads, sandwiches, etc. that have been changed slightly to make the dishes more unique. I ordered the«Smoked Salmon and Bagel» and was delighted to see the interesting plate design; however, I personally didn’t like how I had to «make it myself;» I was given salmon, cream cheese, and a plain bagel and had to put it together. Overall, quiet atmosphere with an older crowd, staff was nice and personable, and the food tasted good. Good, solid spot for brunch but might be my #2 or #3 option for the area.

Overview: I went to 30 Boltwood with a group of my friends and was more than pleased. The overall experience was great and we had a very knowledgeable and friendly server who provided detailed service. The overall ambiance and décor of the restaurant was perfect as well. Physical Appearance: The restaurant was located within the Lord Jeffery Inn and had an entrance through the hotel and on the side of the hotel. The overall appearance was modern and sleek and had a lot of natural light. The furniture and floors were modern with an elegant touch to fit the concept of the hotel. The whole restaurant was clean and the tables were very organized. I was very impressed with the physical appearance. Server Service: Our server was exceptional in every aspect. He was polite and professional from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. He was very attentive and catered to our special requests with the meal items. He was knowledgeable about the menu and answered any questions we had while providing us with recommendations. He took the time to have a little conversation with us and really personalized the service. Food and Beverage: I ordered the smoked salmon and bagel option and I loved it. It wasn’t anything unique but the plate design was creative. I asked for chopped onion as a topping and the chef appropriately put the onions in a small square cup. The food was exactly what I expected it to be and I thought the price wasn’t that bad either. It might have been a little pricey for the amount of salmon I received but it was worth it for the overall service. We also ordered mimosas and they were delicious. The freshly squeezed orange juice made a huge difference. Overall Experience: My overall experience was fantastic with the combination of excellent service, good food, pleasant atmosphere, and great company. I would most definitely go back and recommend to people of all ages. 30 Boltwood has a great atmosphere and gives the guests a perfect opportunity to experience it in every aspect.

I’ve been to 30Boltwood a few times and had great experiences. The brunch menu is on the smaller side but the options are are each fairly different and well prepared. The indoor seating is quiet, clean, and refined. The staff both at the Lord Jeff and 30Boltwood are always professional and welcoming. I would recommend trying to sit outside on a nice day as atmosphere inside was just a little stiff. Other than that, the Monte Cristo and roast beef sandwich are both excellent menu items.

We had a group of 9 on a Monday night. The food was great, the waiter was superb and a complimentary small cup of miso soup from the chef for all was nice. The assortment of breads were all excellent. I had the NY strip and the beet salad. The cappuccino is well made, the cups are more like a soup bowl — huge. All in all a great meal. The only thing I would say is my food wasn’t as hot as I would like. dessert was also very good, the affogato(ice cream drowned in warm chocolate). Sorry– took the pics after I started eating– it was a very good presentation.

My boyfriend and I had reservations here on Christmas for dinner. It was a prix fixe menu and it appeared to fit the dietary needs that both of us had. While they had the most amazing shandy made with hard cider and bourbon, the price for the vegetarian meal was a bit much considering what was on the plate. My meal was also delicious, although also a bit surprisingly small. We eat out frequently, so it is not that we don’t mind spending money for food, it just seemed a little overrated. The final decision between four and three stars was two things, one, someone who looked like a manager was walking around filling water, but not really being friendly or greeting people. People who are in management who won’t say hi to their clients– even smiling or nodding– is one of my pet peeves. My second point would be, the only restriction I had for the evening was not being able to eat any of the desserts because they all contain wheat. I do not have a gluten sensitivity or celiac disease going on, I am actually allergic to wheat. I will become an itching Inferno if I had any of those three desserts. I asked if they could accommodate a wheat free dessert, and then they charged me for 3 scoops of ice cream. With the cost of the dinner as it was, this was a little bit insulting that not even part of the dessert cost was applied to the ice cream. If it wasn’t expensive, I wouldn’t even mention it. I could definitely mention places I would choose over this, and perhaps that will be in consideration where we go next year. We chose this restaraunt because we wanted to stay at the Inn.

High end dining and the prices to match, so be prepared for a substantial bill at the end of your lovely evening. We had a near private room for the 7 of us, which made conversation very easy. Food and drink were great and we have a lot of picky eaters, two vegetarians and one restricted diet, but every one was very happy and full.

Except for the worst bartender we have ever experienced, nasty, argumentative and snotty, This is a great place, The food is both fresh and memorable and the porch dining exceptional. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and the polar opposite of the bartender. The seasonal offerings were interesting and the charcuterie provided neat local cheeses and meats. The overall atmosphere is warm and inviting. Boltwood is a really nice place just avoid the bartender if she is still there.

Food is quite good, so far I’ve had brunch & lunch here, but what makes me really love this place is the setting. Gorgeous, inside & out. For lunch recently we were seated on the outdoor patio, a roof overhead means you can sit outside even on a rainy day.

My family has now been here twice for Easter brunch, and both times it was great! The Lord Jeffrey Inn is such a beautiful historic building, and the restaurant does not disappoint! For Easter brunch they begin with a first course buffet of fruit, pastries, and salads. I tried several of the pastries and enjoyed them all. For the main course I had the eggs Benedict. The dish came with two English muffins topped with shredded pork and perfectly poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. I really liked the shredded pork in place of the Canadian bacon that is usually used. My sister had the Nutella French toast and loved it. A friend got the miso salmon entrée which also was delicious! For dessert many of us chose the peanut butter chocolate cake. This super moist and flavorful cake was such a crowd pleaser! Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with very friendly staff. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, the service wasn’t the quickest, but we weren’t in a rush and enjoyed our relaxing brunch. I think this is a great place to enjoy a special meal.

Met friends for lunch and had the most amazing bagel with herb cream cheese, salmon, capers and pickled onion, paired with a latte and espresso ice cream for dessert. Hostess and waitstaff were wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!

Went here for my birthday with my mother and sister. We all loved our meals. I had the carrot/fennel soup, salmon(crispy outside, perfectly cooked inside), and amazing warm ginger date cake with ginger ice cream on top. Our waitress Sarah was wonderful. The«drink of the day» — Honey Lavender Martini was divine. And the price wasn’t unreasonable for such a lovely location and expertly cooked food.

I made a reservation at 30Boltwood for their Thanksgiving dinner after hearing amazing things about it. There was a prix fixe menu and when I read it online, all of the options sounded great. When we arrived on Thanksgiving evening and as we walked up, we weren’t even sure we’d found their front door. No decorations, no sign… just snow-covered outdoor seating strewn about. We thought we’d found a side entrance until we saw the hostess desk right inside — so apparently that’s the entrance. Unwelcoming. I was also surprised at how tiny the restaurant was — we were at first sure we’d been seated in the bar area, then informed this was the entire place. First impression — well decorated interior, but there was a persistent thumping of bass that sounded like club music from somewhere else in the building. For those of us paying $ 45/head for dinner there was no music, just thud, thud, thud. We placed our orders and moments later the server walked past the table, dropping a basket of stale bread and a plate of(nearly liquid) butter off on the furthest corner of the table, without saying a word. Another server dropped off another bread/butter serving to our neighbors, with a lovely explanation about the breads and warning they were«just out of the oven» and toasty hot. Ours… cold, dry, hard. Our table ordered the potato leek soup and two pear salads. The soup was reportedly quiet good, but we were puzzled at why the server gave us a giant serving spoon to eat it with. We tried to get it replaced with a proper soup spoon, but we couldn’t get a server’s attention. The pear salads were disappointing as well — extremely under-ripe pears, about three dried cranberries and zero nuts on either plate. We ordered two entrees of the steak, with potatoes and broccoli rabe and one order of the turkey dinner. When they arrived we were all a bit in shock — the plates of beef each came on tiny plates with this really minimal arrangement, dominated by chunks of beef(broccoli rabe totally hidden). On the opposite side of the spectrum, the turkey came on a gigantic plate, overflowing with potatoes. For a prix fixe menu, you’d think the entrees would look like they belong on the same table. It was ridiculous. The turkey dinner was underwhelming — and we wondered why there was no stuffing. The steak dinners were absolutely awful. One ordered medium rare, the other medium, both arrived extremely rare, tough and flavorless. Our potatoes were undercooked and it’s hard to comment on the broccoli rabe as it barely existed. The dessert arrived… one order of the poached pear and two orders of chocolate pecan pie. We were never offered coffee. We had to repeatedly call across the restaurant, finally with our neighbor’s help, we got someone’s attention. I assume we would never have been offered coffee had we not insisted on it. The poached pear was immediately sent back — the pear was again completely under-ripe and tasteless and hardly poached. TWO pear dishes on the menu and it appeared the kitchen didn’t have any ripe pears for either? It was replaced with another pecan-chocolate pie, which was also unfortunately extremely disappointing. It was overloaded with cheap melted chocolate — there was nothing pecan pie-like about it. We noticed our neighbors’ desserts were a disappointment as well — the lady’s pecan pie was the TINIEST slice imaginable and her friend’s pumpkin pie was served in pieces, having fallen apart while sliced. I’ll mention at this point, with every course the waitress would hover behind us when it appeared we had slowed down. Two appetizers were removed before they were done being eaten — both guests had taken a sip of their drink when the plates were pulled. It happened again to one of us during the entrée. It happened again during dessert… though I had a momentary standoff of eye contact avoidance with the waitress at the end of my dessert, hoping she’d eventually GOAWAY. It was pretty obvious our meal was not her priority… getting her next reservation seated was. We had zero time to just relax and enjoy anything — and we shouldn’t have to rush our meal because they overbooked. Unbelievably rude. I can’t possibly describe what a complete disappointment this experience was for the entire group. The service was terrible, the food was terrible, the ambiance was terrible… an absolute waste of money and such a disappointment for our special holiday dinner. I’d normally give a restaurant a second try after a bad experience, but with zero redeeming qualities our entire party vowed we’d never be back.

It’s always an excellent dining experience at 30 Boltwood. The atmosphere is great, but this time there was little to no music playing which kind of threw the vibes off. We ordered the salmon quinoa and short ribs, both were cooked to perfection. My short rib’s vegetables were over salted, but it didn’t take too much away from the delicious dish. We also ordered some apps, ribs with greek yogurt sauce, Market salad, and the charcuterie. Again, all were exactly what my taste buds wanted. Definitely will be going back because of not only the delicate food but the excellent service we received.

Mediocre food. Had a cauliflower soup and their duck entrée. Décor is good. Christmas decorations were too much to handle. Service was the worst part. Highlight of the evening dare I say. No Mise en place thought four course meal. Crumbs and empty dishes everywhere. I had to push the bread basket a quarter off the table for my server(Drew?) to take it when he dropped the check after dessert. C’mon now! For that price, Blue Heron, Chez Albert and numerous other restaurants provide a lot more. Not going back. One more thing, the«molten» chocolate cake was half frozen! What a shame to the kitchen.
