I’m always leery about shopping at «Big Box» stores but this Lowe’s is amazing. We recently bought a stove, dishwasher and washing machine there — and we saved ourselves ~$ 400 because the sales staff matched prices of other stores, helped us with discounts and rebates. More importantly, after a bad experience with a local granite shop, I went back to Lowe’s and ordered the granite from them — and again, the cost was lower. They shopped the work out to Discover Granite and Marble in MA and they were an incredibly professional organization. Everything about the transaction was perfect and my granite looks phenomenal! Lowe’s is a «new» type of big box store — it’s a big store that offers personal service and reasonable prices.

Horrible experience trying to buy a house full of shades. The experience was like trying to get an appointment to see the president of United States. It couldn’t be more difficult dealing with several people at different times all of which barely seem to know what they’re doing.

I made a product suggestion and someone emailed me back about it. The email was very professional and had the tone that they care about each individual customers needs. Now I prefer lowes over home depot. They do however need more organic fertilizers for plants given the rising popularity of organic gardening.

When I lived in Brooklyn, the two options for big box home improvement stores were the Home Depot in Bed Stuy & the Lowe’s in Red Hook. The Home Depot was much closer to me, but the customer service was deplorable & the behavior of customers in the parking lot was reprehensible. So I always made the extra drive to Lowe’s because there, the employees actually help you, there are people working the registers that don’t just up & leave in the middle of checking out your stuff, & you don’t get harassed in the parking lot. This preference has held over to my move back up to Massachusetts(although I do choose local mom & pop shops over Lowe’s whenever possible.) I went here last year at the end of grilling season to pick up a Weber grill. Online, it said it was still in stock; in their inventory listings, it said it was still in stock(just one left.) Of course, this particular model is nowhere to be found. One employee(whose name I wish I could remember!) was super helpful throughout this whole process — triple checking the shelves, checking out back, tried to get his manager** involved in the search process — he really went the whole nine yards to find this thing. But most importantly, he did not try to up-sell me the better, more expensive model that they did have in stock. I decided to buy that one all on my own, & to compensate for my troubles, Lowe’s gave it to me at the price of the lesser model(it was something like a $ 200 – 300 difference.) Yea, sometimes box stores/corporations totally suck & don’t care at all about their customers’ experiences, but sometimes, they do. & then they get positive reviews from that customer on Unilocal. ** Screw this dude. I wish I could remember his name also because I’d love to let his company know what a tool he is. He asked if I needed to use their assembly program & have it delivered, & I told him no, I didn’t. He looked me up & down & with a look of «yea right» said that there’s no way I knew how to put together a grill & should take advantage of their offer. I’m kind of surprised he didn’t ask if I knew how to operate a grill. Asshat. He cost his store a star.

*Amherst, NH* Lowe’s Delivery No show, Took a half day off from work to have a washer and dryer delivered. My window was noon to 4. Drivers never showed and didn’t call. I called the delivery line and they said that they couldn’t contact the drivers and just keep waiting. LOL I brought my receipt back to the store got my refund and closed my Lowe’s credit card account. Never again Lowe’s.

We were looking for a specific dishwasher(which was not in stock in nearby Bedford, NH store). We were told Lowe’s Amherst NH store had 1. We called and spoke to «PAT.» He had the model we wanted; he put it aside as we drove right away to pick it up. When we arrived, there was Pat, ready for us — he analyzed without asking that it was us. He then went on to say that we needed a small part to install this replacement dishwasher — he didn’t want us being disappointed at time of installation that we didn’t have all the required parts. Pat is the epitome of what true, customer service should be like! Friendly, does things he says he will, looking out for the customer’s interests. He even helped us load the product into our truck. What more could one ask for? The most pleasant shopping experience in a long, long time! Congrats, Lowe’s for this exemplary customer-service oriented employee, Pat. He is truly the kind of employee that we would want working for us. Michael F. Jacobsen Robert B. Thompson Manchester, NH

Recently I made a large purchase from Lowes in Amherst. I made my way to the bath section and was greeted by Wayne. Throughout the next hour, Wayne helped me in making decisions regarding vanities and toilets. Not only was he helpful, he was very knowledgable. Wayne is an asset to the Lowes team and I know if I have any questions who I can turn to.
