Alamo Rent A Car

Mmkay I have to take off a star… But just one.
A few days after returning my rental car I noticed a charge for the same amount as my prepayment with
. I thought this was just a duplicate charge and a miscommunication from dealing with a third party website but in reality, it was a charge for a late return…
Despite being able to reserve my 24hr reservation with this location as drop off and PREPAYING for the 24hrs, AND RETURNING THE CAR EARLY… Alamo logged the keys being returned the next day (presumably when the employee opened up shop and collected all the dropped keys from the hours of 6pm-7:30am when they were closed). The charge I saw on my card a few days later was an additional day added to my reservation because I did not return the keys during their open office hours — a stipulation untold to me and a completely unacceptable breach of my prepaid contract if you ask me.
I have provided photos of my communications with Alamo.
Although they refunded me for the extra day because I made a stink, I am disappointed to have had to jump through these hoops in the first place.
There should be a time stamp return of keys in order to not have this happen over and over again… What a waste of time.
Renter beware… It was a good experience until this ball drop… Just watch them.

Wonderful! Magical! Amazing! Can’t say enough great things about the people who work at the downtown Disney location. Fast and fun service! If I ever need a car, this is my spot.

I picked up the car at LAX, and the kiosk wasn’t working, so I had to wait for 30 minutes in the customer service line. Apparently although the website allowed me to book the car for pick up at LAX and drop off at Downtown Disney (using the drop box), the kiosk wasn’t programmed to recognize this and kept returning an error message.
Once I tried to return the car after hours, first, there were no instructions or signs showing where to park the car in Downtown Disney to return it. Second, when I called customer service, they had no idea where I needed to leave the car. I found a hotel manager at the Disneyland Hotel who was really helpful and allowed me to park my car in front of the hotel until the morning when Alamo opened. As I returned to Alamo in the morning, there was already a lady screaming at the Alamo agent about a similar experience that she had.
Needless to say, the Alamo agent was very professional and apologetic and said that the written instructions were supposed to have been passed out at LAX, but sometimes the people at LAX do not. Apparently Disney also doesn’t allow them to put up signs on their property yet. I do think that being able to rent a car at LAX and return it at Disney is very convenient, and just providing return instructions is a simple fix. For those reading this trying to figure out where to return your rental car, coming from Ball Road, you should go down Disneyland Drive, turn into the driveway just before the Paradise Pier Hotel. Tell security you are returning an Alamo car. They should let you in, and open the arm for you to get into the Grand Californian parking lot. Park anywhere in the lot. Alamo is in the AMC and there is slot in the door to return your keys in.

This place is quick, efficient, and always friendly. I will recommend this location to everyone who will listen. Keep up the good work!

It’s my second time now renting a car from here. Danny and his staff are really nice. Danny always hooks me up with good rates. So whenever I take a trip to Vegas to visit my parents, this is my go to place.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! I rented a car here 3 weeks ago. I rented it for 2 days, and the estimated rental price was $ 235.44. When I picked up the car the guy working there asked if i want insurance, he said it would cover everything and it would be $ 26.99 for the whole thing. I decided to buy it. Before leaving he said I should return the car with the tank ¾ full, I said ok, no problem.
The next day I returned the car (1 day before it was due) around 8:30pm. It was after hours so I left the keys inside a drop off window and assumed they would take care of everything. Two weeks later, I see my credit card statement and I see that they charged me $ 393.13!!! WHAT??? it was supposed to be $ 235.44 plus the insurance $ 26.99!
I called Alamo hotline and they say it shows my car was a couple of hours late and there was a fee per hour, I returned it 1 day early! Plus the insurance was PER DAY instead of for the whole trip which is what the guy working at the counter told me. They even charged me for 7 gallons of gas when I returned the car with exactly ¾ tank full~!!! where the hell are they coming up with these charges?! Total robbery, never go to Alamo at Disneyland again! they’re the worst!

Renting a care here is easy! I found a great deal on priceline and booked here. I was a little worried that it would be a experience because of all the negative reviews. But then I looked at a few other places and bad reviews for car rental places seem to occur across the board. So I take the chance b/​c they’re pretty cheap and close to Disneyland so they can’t be all that bad. I didn’t realize how close they were to Disney — they are literally in downtown Disney which can be confusing for some people (like me). You actually park in the hotel parking lot (just tell the guards at the front that you’re renting a car). I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty slow. They had one customer inside and two employees so I got one to help me right away. The check in process was about 10 minutes and then I was able to get the car. The car was clean but it DID have a huge dent on the right side of the car which they didn’t tell me about so I had to go back in and get them to add it to the notes (although it may not matter since I got insurance anyway). So make sure you INSPECT the car before you drive away. Other than that though, no other problems. Returning the car was a breeze (i dropped off after hours) and I only got charged what they said they were going to charge me for (no hidden fees) which I certainly appreciate. In other words, if you find a good deal for a car rental, have no fear to rent from this place!

I use to be a customer of enterprise rent a car and hertz, but last month i booked a car from Alamo through main reservation but I checked with location interested of kettela location, i was help by Dan he is the most awesome person and very caring he did lot for me and went out of his way to help me, because I have some disability so he made sure I got the best car help me with insurance and gas, so we became friends 2 week later my son arrive from verginia i booked with Dan he was of but he made sure I get the best possible deal and told his colleagues to take care of us i cannot say good enough about Dan and location, I highly recommend that place because i will be thier permanent customer

I have to admit, I was a little worried about renting a car from this location because the star rating was not as high as I would have liked. Also, being that this location was near Disneyland, I thought the cars would be worn out from so much use. I was wrong. My car was brand new and very clean. As for the star rating, I still took a chance for one reason alone. That reason being that Alamo commented on each review. That really showed me that this company cared about their reputation. Many of the complaints were about the staff. I don’t know what happened, but Alamo listened. The staff on both my pickup and return dates were very friendly. They were quick, they had great personalities and treated me like I was an important customer. I would definitely recommend this location and I will definitely use them again. I’ve been renting from this location for well over 5 months. The BIGGEST flaw I have with the location is that they hardly EVER answer their phone. This poses a problem when I’m trying to extend my rental time and because of that I’ve received harassing phone calls from a manager named DUCSTEVEN NGUYEN. He was the worst. He’s a very RUDE man and tried to over talk me and he basically accused me of trying to steal the vehicle. He said he had several people NOT returning vehicles and I explained to him I’ve NEVER stolen ANYTHING and NEVER intended to steal a damn car from ALAMO. He’s emailed me when I’ve asked him not to email me, he’s called me aggressively etc. The guy is plain rude and he’s lucky my husband and I are professional people and have left our street life in the past because things could have been VERY BAD. I’ve attempted to make a complaint about my experience with Steven and NO ONE has yet to respond, so that’s why I’m leaving a review here.
My experience with the ACTUAL staff at this location especially DAN, SHAWN and VINCE has been awesome! These guys ESPECIALLY DAN (My main man:) have made renting a car from Alamo very easy and accommodating. I love Dan’s professionalism, his down to earth attitude and he’s so personable. He’s very kind to my precious cargo (my children) and I really enjoy visiting him when I go to renew my rental.
The reason for my lengthy rental is because my engine blew out of my SUV and I’ve been in limbo on if I want to fix my truck or just buy another but after much consideration, I like renting because I’m not tied into a contract and I really don’t have to pay for the maintenance of the vehicle and when I get tired of the vehicle I am in, I can return it and ride in something else.
I’ve rented from other locations but I keep going back to ALAMO because of Dan and the staff over at this particular location and if not for Ducsteven being rude and inconsiderate of my circumstance, I’d rate this location much higher but they need to answer their phone line and Ducsteven needs to be coached on how to speak to people and have more patience for EACH individuals situation. Calling me a thief is totally unacceptable and he and I will ALWAYS have an issue regardless if an apology is issued. I’d prefer that he NEVER contacts me again. I’m a responsible citizen who takes care of my bills, responsibilities and commitments and he threw me in a pot of thieves and irresponsible car renters. I’m going on month 6 with renting with ALAMO and rarely receive ANY discounts, perks, free rentals etc… That’s something they should work on too. I’ve spent over or close to $ 3,000 in renting, so it would be awesome to get a free rental from time to time.

I will preface this by saying I have had good experiences with this Alamo location in the past. As a former Disney cast member, based on my previous experiences, I used to refer people here ALL the time! My most recent visit however, turned into a horrible nightmare. I cannot endorse them anymore!
We reserved a vehicle online, and went in to pick it up. Our reservation could not be found. Since we had reserved and mid-​sized car, and none were available, we were desperate, and decided to go ahead with the van they had for over $ 100 more per day. Since we were renting because our car was in the shop, we decided the weekly rental would be the best way to go.
We proceeded to go through with the rental, only to find out that my name is on a do not rent list. I have no idea how I could have ended up there since I rented last from this location, not even a year ago, and had no issues. Of course, they couldn’t tell my why, or how to fix this. They only gave me a number to call, which of course is only open Mon-​Fri 9 – 6 Central time.
We changed to rental to my husband’s name instead. We went through the entire process again. The agent swiped my credit card for over $ 340.00, plus the extra the bank adds on. As soon as he was done, he told us that even though the card worked, he could not rent the vehicle to us because the card was in my name not my husband’s. He couldn’t have noticed this before??? We have the same last name mind you. My husband’s card is linked to the same account. We had limited funds available, so when they went to swipe his for the same amount plus, it didn’t go through. This is the only account we have, as we do not use credit anymore.
We walked out of there with nothing and could not attend the event that we were renting the car for.
That’s not even the worst of it. Not only was our entire weekend ruined, but it’s been over a month, and the funds are still being held. I called our bank, and they said they are not the ones holding it. The rental company puts it on hold until the vehicle is returned. WTH??? There’s no vehicle to return! Now I have to call and complain and try to get my money back? I can’t even find the location’s number, only the toll free number, which directs me somewhere in INDIA! So frustrating!
I can no longer recommend this location to anyone as I used to so often. This has just been too bad of an experience. As much as I despise Enterprise’s policies and practices, we will be going there from now on.

The people here are either very bad at their job or just very bad. Unfortunately, I’m still working that out.
I pre-​paid online for a one day rental starting the day before Thanksgiving. Picking up the car was very slow despite pre-​paying (paperwork wasn’t prepped etc.) and the lady who waited on us was more interested in trying out her comedy routine about the lives of her co-​workers. She also berated us for causing people to work on Thanksgiving — something she would NEVER do.
In her world, those of us returning cars on Thanksgiving should be charged an extra day since they would be losing business not being able to rent cars while they were closed.
I returned the car on Thanksgiving, as directed when I rented online, by placing the keys into the drop box since the office closed early per a sign on the door.
I took the precaution of taking a pic of the Disneyland parking lot time stamp to prove when I had returned the car.
Oh, did I mention that I did not get my Alamo Insiders upgrade? Haha.
Of course, it is now a week later and I have an email saying the car is 3 days overdue? Huh? Did they pull another key switch like a previous reviewer described? Or are they trying to pull something on those of us who dared to return cars on Thanksgiving?
At least we had a short walk to our Thanksgiving Feast at the Disneyland Hotel.
I recommend avoiding this particular office.

Yes. It was a little hard to find but once it’s actually an extremely convenient location if you are going to Disneyland because you can use the lot for parking at Disneyland.
Dan at the front desk was super awesome. If they’re having a good time, I’m having a good time. They know what’s up.
Hassle free renting and return of the car. Couldn’t have been better!

I rented the car from the Downtown Disney location, and they were amazing! They were extrememly helpful and they even gave me a map and directions to places that we mentioned we wanted to see. They were very friendly, and even joked around with us while we waited. I will definitely go see them if I am ever in the area and need to rent a car again!

We wanted a rental car on a Saturday morning and didn’t have a prior reservation. When we arrived there was one gentleman working behind the counter and there were 3 parties ahead of us. We waited in all about 30 minutes, but considering that the guy didn’t have any assistance, I think he did a great job. He was handling two groups at a time, beginning one transaction while the prior transaction ended.
I have no complaints about my experience and would use this location again. We got a nice car and were able to drop the car off late, no problems.

This Alamo is a little bit out of the way– it’s a teeny office and there could be better signage pointing the way.
Once there it wasn’t too bad getting a rental and the prices for 1 day weren’t too horrible either.
I do have to say that I thought the reps at the counter were fairly inappropriate towards two women customers. If we were their coworkers it would have been a sexual harassment issue. Considering their affiliation with Disney I was a little taken aback by their exchanges, but went along our merry way and were glad to use the night drop off!

Where is this location?
What was suppose to be a 9 minute walk from the Disneyland Hotel turned into an hour long goose chase. I thought maybe I missed it and asked several people until finally a Disney employee told me it was no longer at that location. WHAT THE HECK? Why would I be allowed to reserve online if there is no office to pick up?
To make matters worse, the phone number that Alamo provided me kept ringing and ringing and I kept getting an automated voicemail that was not identified as Alamo.
Customer service FAIL!

Great team — we got a Chevy Cruze. Ltz loaded great drive. Only issue was at San Diego airport. The Alamo return. This was way out of the and almost made us miss our flight.

Where the heck is this location?
Scheduled a drop-​off at the Downtown Disney Alamo location. Unfortunately, never actually found the location, as traffic was diverted, and nobody really knew how to get there via the South Disneyland Drive address (maybe it’s accessible via Downtown Drive). In either case, police had blocked off traffic, making the location at least functionally inaccessible.
After a half hour of looking, and after an unintelligible conversation with New Delhi-​based Alamo hotline, gave up. Dropped the car off at the Katella location instead.

Old enough to rent a car finally and I had a fantastic experience with Alamo Rent a Car in Downtown Disneyland. Right from the start all of the staff were professional and helpful.
Service was speedy and honest, no fuss, no hassle.
The car was in perfect condition. NO complaints.
