The food was good. I actually ordered a steak salad(I never order salads anywhere) but it was really hearty and filling. My son loves the grilled cheese. Everything was presented beautifully. We had a good time.

Nice menu options! Unfortunately wasn’t able to try the offerings from the wine list but it looked unique and tasty. Orders the Ahi Salad and the dressing was really delicious! The tuna was a little more cooked than seared but was still good. The Boy had the Ahi Burger which was also good and the hand cut fries were very tasty. Overall a nice place to wine and dine!

Wandered in for date night and was told this was his favorite spot. We ordered some wine, which was decent but not amazing. Usually I guess he gets the ceviche, but we thought we’d order some other light bites to see what we liked. We ordered the street tacos and the brussel sprouts, both of which were disappointing. The brussel sprouts promised pork belly, which you got no hint of nor did you see any hunks of it in the dish. There was no flavor whatsoever in the dish. It was very bland. The tacos were tiny and they similarly had zero flavor. I had asked for them without the avocado crema because of a food allergy, but I had hoped they’d have some yummy salsa or something. Nope, bland. We decided to pack it in and go someplace else to have some drinks and some appetizers instead. I don’t usually make it inland in Orange County, so I don’t think I’ll really make it back here to see if they had anything else with more flavor.

Loved the ahi salad! Great ambience, great service! The owner and staff went out of their to help us with questions regarding the area. If I’m ever going to an event near the Honda center or Anaheim Angeles stadium, I’ll be back to calivino for sure!

This place is great! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is excellent. I love the modern look and feel of the place as well. Items on the menu are hand crafted to deliver different options with a unique appeal. I love the burgers and French fries but they are other choices than the classics. Five stars!

I am not sure how helpful my review of this place will be, considering my husband and I both do not really drink wine, and don’t drink beer. But, we come for food. He had a Groupon a few months ago, and we got away with an $ 8 bill after it all. Two iced teas and two burgers. We came back recently with the same one, and same food. We have a third Groupon and plan to come back another time. Both times we got the same exact items, so my review is very slim on what all is there. I went with the Blue Burger both times. It comes with arugula, danish blue, aioli, and sauteed peppers. My husband has gone with the House Burger both times which comes with chuck/brisket, fried onions, onion jam, and fontina. Both times we got them with their fries. You have the option of mixed greens. I may try that next time as I try to be healthier where I can, but there is just something excellent about combining burgers and fries. The fries have a different taste to them. Not sure if it is truffle or something else. I found my burger to be much tastier the first time than the second. Maybe I had higher expectations from enjoying my first burger so much. I will have to finally try another item next time, or another burger choice. Both times we have gone the environment seemed pretty chill and relaxed. I am not sure if that has been our luck or not. The staff here has always been friendly as well.

Delightful wine and beer bar with an extensive food menu as well. I’m puzzled at all the overly critical reviews here concerning the food, because I was quite pleased by all their offerings, all of which are bound to pair well with whatever libations they have to offer. There’s a good variety of craft beers available here, either on tap or by the bottle, and the wine list is even more extensive. The lamb burger, meanwhile, was quite juicy and savory, and was accented well by some mint, garlic, onion jam, and gremolata yogurt. Prices on everything are quite reasonable given the quality; in fact, they use hormone– and antibiotic-free meats here. Service is also friendly and obliging. A great way to chill out, take a break, and grab a bite and a drink, especially if rush hour traffic has you going nowhere.

Another great Groupon find! I will come back here Groupon or not. The décor and lighting are spot on for a low key evening or date night. There are pub tables, regular tables and big comfy couches to relax in. You can even watch sports on the sizable and high quality flat panel mounted behind the bar. The servers were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They bring out a large bottle of ice cold spring water right away which is nice! I’m not a wine guy but my wife had their house chardonnay and cab and was pleased. They seem to have went with the quality over quantity route with their draft beer. I believe they run 6 taps with a dozen bottle selections. The prices were great and the m-f happy hour I’d till 7!

Cant say enough good stuff about this ‘new’ and amazing local wine bar just winthin a stones throw of the madness that surrounds the resort area. This is a much appreciated adult retreat where you can sip upscale wines feelin super relaxed. I will admit its a funky location. Seems everything that is in this area is struggling when there is no baseball/hockey game and the whole complex does seem strangely uninviting from the outside I mean you cant see inside places until you pull in and around… all strange things from the outside but they all fall away once a nice glass of California wine is in your hand, and you are eating some bacon wrapped dates. The staff is always kind and helpful about picking a wine. One cool thing this place does that I have never heard of anywhere else is this ‘death row’ of bottles. These are already opened wines from just yesterday that they are trying to get rid if while they’re still tasty and so they sell you the remainder of the bottle at a hearty discount! This is a great deal and a stellar idea! I wish the menu of food options would rotate a little more frequently but other than that this is a lil Anaheim gem that I am so glad is here!

Came here the night before thanksgiving and the restaurant was quiet and practically empty, but our waitress was super attentive and friendly. Started off with the spinach wonton wraps and was absolutely paralyzed with amazement! They were fried to perfection and not too heavy! Then, warmed up my stomach with some more bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese and was in awe. Considering that I’ve never been a fan of bacon(yes, sorry to disappoint all the foodies out there. Total American Crime) I didn’t mind it! I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with a generous amount of salad, and couldn’t even finish half of the half sandwich. This place is definitely a girls night out type of place!

This place is a really cute pub! Very casual. You can either seat yourself at a table, or open couches. +Food: I ordered the Blue Burger, which was juicy and flavorful, but as much as I love blue cheese, it was a little too overwhelming, so I scraped some off. It came with a choice of salad or house fries; I chose the former, which was light and had sweet vinaigrette dressing. My friend got the chicken pesto, which came panini style. The chicken was way too dry and was too cheesy :(. The house fries that came with it was amazing though. +Service: Great attentive servers. Good at recommendations which brings me to… +Drinks!!! We came on a Thursday, in which they had thirsty Thursdays. Our server knew exactly what to recommend, for me, a noob wine drinker. I got the August Kesseler, which was a light white wine and very fruity. There’s also a lot of seasonal beers to choose from as well. Dishes here are shareable, and maybe a hit or miss, but you really can’t go wrong with the drinks!

This is definitely a place for locals. That’s weird because I’m a local and I felt like it was for people more local than me. So, let me explain what that means. There was a guy at the bar and he must have been a pretty solid tipper because the bartenders were fawning over this guy. He seemed like a nice guy and all but we’re also solid tippers and also locals. See where I’m going with this? No, well our server was borderline attentive which is kinda lame because we could definitely be regulars. Oh well. For a wine bar Calivino has a pretty legit tap list. I like the concept of a Wine Pub. It’s like you get the upscaleness(yep, just made up that word) of a wine lounge and the relaxed vibe of a pub. The food is best described as stepped up pub food. We ordered Short Rib sliders and these things that tasted like spinach dip inside of a wonton and then deep fried. The spinach dip wonton deals were pretty amazing. The short rib needed a bit more spice or something. The wine that was on happy hour was pretty good so I was impressed at that. Normally the happy hour wine is balsamic that someone is trying to peddle as wine. Ummm no. Dammit, Unilocal for not having half star ratings.

We came with reservations on a Monday around 5pm but it was quite empty and we were allowed to seat ourselves. We were promptly assisted by a friendly waitress. With a quick glance through the menu, we got the house burger(with salad), handcut fries(happy hour price $ 2 off), and pork belly slides. We also got glasses of the leaping horse merlots, which were also on the happy hour list. The handcut fries, which I thought I would not enjoy since I hate thick fries, were surprisingly very delicious. There was a good mixture of crispy ones and soggy ones, and they were well-seasoned(arguable too well-seasoned) enough to the point where they would have been a good meal on their own. They paired well with the burger and pork belly slides, which were both mediocre. For example, the texture of the pork belly was a bit too crunchy to fit in with the rest of the ingredients, and the patty in the burger was a bit bland. The lack of true fresh vegetables in both really highlighted the fact that every bite definitely needed some pizzazz-which thankfully came with the fries. One memorable aspect of the whole meal was actually the salad that came with the burger. I was expecting a salty mess since I saw the greens drenched in sauce, but the sauce was so delicious and unique that I loved every bite and kept going back for more. Overall a nice, trendy spot but the food could really use some improvement.

Probably a not so hidden gem that I find to be new to that plaza. This place is a pleasant surprise. I came here during happy hour and they offer a variety of discount dishes. I got the boneout wings, pork belly sliders and poutine. I was not especially impressed by the sliders and the wings, although i was impressed by the braised beef with herb gravy poutine that would carry most of the stars of this review. this poutine was perfection. I actually would rather get the poutine here than the ones available at anaheim packing house. although it is more expensive, it was quite the comfort that comfort food serves. I was highly salivating for more of the poutine and think abiut it more as we speak. I will come back to try the regular items soon and just by the ambiance, i sould come back.

Loved the bacon wrapped date appetizer! The lamb burger was well seasoned, moist, and delicious. The French fries and the sliders were just okay. My boyfriend got a beer flight and loved each taste he tried. The bartender was really helpful and chose a wine I absolutely loved and would order again. The beignets were our least favorite part of the meal. They were cloyingly sweet. Overall great atmosphere and service. We would come back for food and drinks but not dessert.

TL;DR: 4 out of 5. Come here on Friday for live music from 7−10PM. Groupon deal is $ 12 for $ 24(as of 2÷8÷15). Get the wine flight($ 15) and chocolate lava cake($ 8). Reds: Simple Life. Location: located in the business/strip mall behind Angel stadium next to Rubios and Subway. It was a little bit hard to find at first. There is plenty of parking in the lot, but can get kind of packed since there is other eateries here as well. Ambiance: The ambiance is more like a pub than a wine bar since there is a TV playing sports and the light is a little too bright to be a wine bar. However, it is a good place to meet up with friends or a date night since the noise level is loud and there are ample of tables and couches to stay around for a long time. I did not feel rushed to leave at all. I really enjoyed the live music on Friday nights. The person that played that night played a lot of 90s rock. I know that there is Trivia Tuesday as well. Hours: Monday — Thursday: 11:00 am — 10:00 pm; Friday: 11:00 am — 12:00 am; Saturday: 3:00 pm — 12:00 am; Sunday: 3:00 pm — 8:00 pm. The hours seem to be different everyday, especially for the weekend. So check back on this site before you head out to prevent the event that the place might be closed! Price: Depending on what you get, I really think that the wine prices(by the bottle) here is a lot cheaper than most other wine bars. However, the wine quality is not bad here. They have a lot of wine that you cannot find at many wine stores, so I do recommend trying wine here. Bottles can go up to $ 85. Come here on Wednesday night for half off bottles, which is a great deal! They seem to have deals every day of the week including Happy Hour from 3−7PM on the weekdays. Check out for more food reviews! What to get, or not: I recommend getting the wine flights above($ 15). You get a sample of three different wines, either reds or whites. They also have beer flights($ 11). I think this is a good way to sample and not be stuck with one kind of wine. I love trying new wines so I love getting flights. Beignets($ 8): I do not recommend this. Even though i usually love beignets, and I have tried ones that are mind blowing. So I know these little desserts can be really amazing. However, the beignets here were too sweet. Othe beignets are simply coated with powdered sugar. However here, it is coated with cane sugar and had cinnamon in it. It was served with some kind of sweet sauce. Everything was just really sweet all together. I thought they were not soft as well. They were tough to eat if you let them cool down. Also, they did not even look like the normal beignet shapes and just looked like blobs of dough. Very unattractive and not tasty at all. Chocolate Lava Cake($ 8): I thought that these were fairly good. The chocolate lava cake had a lot of fudge. This came with a side of whipped ice cream, which made it taste very good. This was not too sweet for me, but a little bit on the rich side. I do recommend getting this since it paired very well with the red wine.

Came here with my GF to have some quality girl time to catch up & wanted to check out this place to see what everyone’s raving about. I’m sorry to say that the food was just A-okay so I don’t know if we ordered the wrong things or what. =( Food: Bacon Dates(w/goat cheese & honey): 3 stars The honey made this a bit too sweet & the goat cheese didn’t really compliment the dates very well. Crab cakes(jumbo lump crab, house remoulade lemon zest): 3 stars(just ok) This was a bit on the burnt side & too greasy for my taste. The sauce that was on the side was too light & didn’t go well with the crab cakes. There were only 2 on this plate which I was surprised when most other places give you at least 3 on a plate & this plate was a bit pricey too. Ahi Salad(seared Ahi, soy citrus dressing, avocado): 1 star This plate was a huge disappointment to me, the salad was ok but the dressing was way too sweet & the Ahi was very dry & very plain tasting & wasn’t seasoned/seared very well. Décor & ambiance: B Smaller than I thought it’d be, but it has the simple American décor w/warm lighting which makes it a cozy place to hangout with friends & chill. Overall, I ‘d come rather to this place for their HH& drinks because they have a good wine selection & craft beers that they have here. Tip: HH: Sunday — Friday | 3pm to 7pm $ 5 Draft Craft Beers & $ 5 Select Wines $ 2 Off Select Menu Items Wine Wednesday Every Wednesday | 7pm to Close ½ Off Select Bottles Thirsty Thursday Every Thursday | 7pm to Close ½ Off Select Glasses of Wine

What a fun and unexpected find — an attractive-and-classy little place flanked by casual, fast-foot eateries! Initially, I thought $ 15 for a flight of 3(possibly 1-ounce pours) was steep; however, to our surprise and delight, they offered generous 3-ounce pours, in cute carafes, which sat within a little wooden receptacle, labeled by varietal — and appreciatively served in large, attractive, and clean wine glasses! Nice selection of featured reds! The Hand Cut Fries($ 5) were OK, however, the Pork Belly Burger($ 14) and the House Burger($ 13) were very tasty(I think I would’ve preferred raw onions over the caramelized onions in my House Burger); loved the bun! We were informed that the burgers are cooked«medium», but they appeared to be more«well done»(which happens to be my burger preference). Very nice service: friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning for Happy Hour, and/or another meal.

3.5 So my sista from anotha mista Gigi M. wanted to take me out for a belated birthday din din and for some reason I either got stumped on where to go or she wasn’t feeling my Chinese food cravings LOL. I recalled seeing this place a few times passing by on Katella from the gym. So her and I came on a Thursday evening. It wasn’t to busy just yet since it was only 6pm. We sat on the couches by the hallway to the restrooms. I thought we would have some sort of privacy BUT this dude sat at the table of four by us and was ALLLLLLLL in our business! He still was in our business even when his awkward double date of friends showed up late o_O. That table sure got an earful and I hope these dudes took note on how not to act in dating HAHA. So the service was good at first but the more people showed up the slower our service became, especially when it was time to get to go boxes in the end! If I didn’t have a clutch my ass would have been like a Filipino mom at a buffet with some Tupperware to box my own ish! Maybe they weren’t used to folks taking leftovers but when you’re with Princess G you order like Royals LOL. Onto the food!!! Bacon wrapped dates: Gigi ordered this and that’s fine, I truly hate dates even with heavenly bacon wrapped around it. I ate this like a kid, I just unwrapped the dates and ate the bacon LOL. Spinach wontons: Never had spinach wontons before but these were quite delicious. Nice and crispy on the outside and creamy ooey gooey temperature hot on the inside! The mixture kinda tasted like your classic spinach dip, I’m kicking myself in the fluffy ass for not taking the rest home and popping them in the toaster oven! Pork belly sliders: CRAAAAAACKKKKKKKK! Seriously damn good! The pork belly was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The aioli was addicting and I needed more! Perfectly crispy onion straws ;I think they use a brioche bun, I’m not sure BUT the bun was so good I added cream cheese on the naked side when I got home and I made love to that little bun HAHA. I can’t wait to try the regular size version! Gigi loved them so much she came back the next day for more LOL. Jerk chicken wings: Sorry but these were epic fail!!! They looked SOOOOOOOO good when they came out and we were drooling BUT! They were undercooked! internally and a little bloody :(Only bloody meat I like is a steak! Not chicken! Gigi and I were not feeling that! The sauce was also off and kind of strong. The spice blend was not right, unless that’s how all jerk chicken seasonings taste. If so, I never want jerk again. I most definitely pass! Bread pudding: On the outside it looked overcooked, BUT internally it was nice and warm, melt in your mouth. This also wasn’t overly sweet. Their are soooooooo many executions of bread pudding and I was a fan of their bread pudding. I’d get it again if I’m sharing with someone. I’m not a big time sweet tooth kinda gal. Overall, I enjoyed this quaint place and I most definitely would come back, especially before a Ducks game :)
