Let’s be honest… coming to Goofy’s Kitchen isn’t about the food(although the food ain’t all that bad, but more on that later). You’re here because you want to give your kids(or yourself, hey who said we ever had to grow up???) the Disney experience! All the Disney characters roll around to each table and provide photo ops when you want them. Plus there is the scheduled photo opp with Goofy before you even go in… although if you want that official photo, you’ll have to pay for it. As for the food, it’s not bad. It’s just not worth the inflated price you pay for it, but again we already stated why you were here. Options aren’t too bad… roast beef, ham, smoked salmon, BBQ ribs, and shrimp. And it is pretty interesting to try peanut butter and jelly pizza too. Don’t bother coming here if you don’t have a reservation. We made one months in advance and it was still a bit of a wait.

The big draw here is not the food, but the Disney characters. The dinner is a buffet, with hand carved roast beef and turkey, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, filet of sole in a cream sauce, shrimp ceviche, pork ribs, pasta, mixed veggies, salad bar, pizza’s and desserts to name the highlights. I was surprised that the roast beef was tough and almost raw in the center and that the sole was really good. It was cooked in a cream sauce with capers and didn’t taste fishy. The shrimp ceviche was pleasantly spicy and not overpowering. The same can’t be said about the hot wings. I love a good hot wing, but man, those were S P I C Y… Yikes! The pork ribs were tough. They need to get someone from the South to show ‘em how to ‘cue… They had a peanut butter and jelly pizza that I stayed away from… First the Hawaiians with the pineapples on pizza now this?! Surprisingly, and I mean this sincerely, the desserts all kinda sucked. I mean, this is Disneyland after all. They have more sweets and treats throughout both of their parks than birds have nests so what gives??? My kids did eat well, though, with my 2 year old devouring a hot dog and my 6 year old eating mac n cheese, pasta and every other carbolicious pasta creation they had. The mixed veggies were my favorite… this coming from a strict carnivore. This one Disney got right. I know most kids are like me and they have to have their veggies disguised to eat it. I don’t know what Disney did, but it wasn’t exactly a butter sauce but it was soooooo flavorful. If I could box that and take it home I would. A couple of notes: be prepared to wait even if you have reservations as some nights the diners just take longer than others. Bring your own camera to take a pic with Goofy(before you’re seated) and save the $ 37.00 for the picture package. Heck, bring your phone and a camera for all the great pics and vids with the characters. My kids loved, loved, loved them!!! There are adult drinks, but they are separate from the prepay before you dine about $ 42.00/person, so if you want booze, you’re looking at about $ 11.00 a pop for a mixed drink… Oh, and the deal of deals? They don’t charge for under 3, so little, little ones eat free… if that’s any consolation for a $ 200.00 dinner…

**SURPRISINGLYGOODBREAKFASTBUFFET** For the record, I am not a fan of buffet anything (unless it’s a hangover in Vegas and therefore it’s justified). My brother insisted on eating here, so here we go. AMBIANCE ========= Friendly, fun, and full of Disney costumes and characters. Make reservations beforehand. Crowded, full of families, but can be endearing. If you dislike children, this place is NOT suitable for you (or Disneyland for that matter). FOOD ===== BREAKFASTBUFFET The GOOD: — Mickey Mouse pancakes — Mikey Mouse waffles — Bacon — Sausage — Eggs Benedict — Orange Juice RATING: 4⁄5 I loved the characters floating around to each table to take pictures with the customers. VERYCOOL. PROTIP ======= Have someone take pictures of you and Goofy so you don’t have to pay for those copies. OVERALL ======== Obviously great for families, especially children. Not exactly cheap, but it’s Disneyland. I would revisit if I was hungry and with friends. RECOMMEND for large groups of friends and families.

Every time I come I keep telling myself it’s the last time, and then I get suckered back into it against my better judgement. First off, this is disney’s ONLYDINNERCHARACTERDINING. I was extremely disappointed by the characters the last time we went. They had a fixed set of basic characters(Minnie, Goofy in the front, chip, dale and Pluto.) online it stated that the characters change. When booking my reservation I asked if the characters changed and explained what had occurred previously, the woman I spoke with told me the characters change every night. Once I was seated I could see I was misinformed because it was the same limited characters as our previous visit. The quality of the food isn’t that awesome and for the price paid the experience isn’t worth it. We didn’t even have a chance to visit with every character because certain characters never went into our section and the ones that did spent very little time with us. Goofy’s Kitchen use to be our go to birthday spot, but it is getting worse and worse. For $ 49.99 per adult plus roughly $ 25 for kids, it’s not even remotely worth it. Save yourself a disappointment and choose a different character dining experience.

Goofy and Minnie were the only primary characters at Goofy’s Kitchen. Chip and Dale made appearance but the kids enjoyed it. Now, as a parent the food was good but not $ 30/plate good. A plentiful selection of brunch items, including an omelette station and a dessert bar with ice cream dispenser. I admit it is geared for the kids but they ain’t payin’! Parking is far from the hotel where the restaurant is located so like Disneyland expect a long walk to get to you destination. A reservation is necessary as the restaurant was packed on a midweek morning. Been there. Done that so now I can mark it off the Kids’ bucket list. Thank God!

Never have been able to get into Goofy’s Kitchen in the past but was surprised when we got a table while waiting in the standby line. As soon as you enter you have an opportunity to take a photo with Goofy. It’s pretty nice. Ask them to take the photo with you camera or phone if you don’t want to purchase the set(one 8“x10″ and four smaller size photos) offer. I always assumed they just had kids food(chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pizza and french fries) but was pleasantly surprised that they had shrimp pasta, carving station(beef & turkey), Swedish meatballs, and white fish to name a few of the main dishes. They also had some tasty fried shrimp in the kids area. While you are eating they have numerous Disney characters stop by your table. It’s great for the kids but it gets a little annoying the second time around especially if you are having a conversation or a mouth full of food. Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip & Dale all stopped by our table. I saved room for dessert and I loved the vanilla cupcakes and the sugar cookies. The cookie was soft and chewy.

Overall, it was a decent experience but I don’t see us ever going back. The service wasn’t the best and trying to feed my son, who has a dairy allergy, was difficult due to cross contamination. We went to celebrate my and my son’s birthday. I was really excited to take him here. Upon arrival we realized that there was an issue with our reservations. We had two separate reservations to accommodate a party of 10 and somehow they were both under my sister’s name even though we made the reservations separately. Everyone there was very helpful and they told us not to worry and we would be seated. After standing in the check-in line and paying, we had to wait in line to take pictures with Goofy. Surprisingly, the lines went quickly and our tables were ready. Even though both reservations were under the same name, they told us that we would have to have separate tables but they would do their best to sit us close together. Our table of 5 was seated next to an empty table and the rest of our party was seated on the other side of the room. We asked if they could be seated at the empty table next to us because my sister and mother were cold sitting next to the window plus both tables were the same size but we were told no. LATER, I OVERHEARDTHESAMEWOMANWHODENIEDTHATREQUESTTELLANOTHEREMPLOYEETHATTHETABLEWASEMPTYBECAUSEOF A CANCELLATION! Why would they deny the table to us if the party canceled?! That was just rude! Twice we confirmed with the employees that we needed to speak to a chef to discuss which foods would be dairy free for my toddler who has a dairy allergy. We waited and waited and waited. Everyone at our table got their food, I went to the only restroom outside of the restaurant to change a diaper, which by the way only has one stall and NOCHANGINGTABLE, before the chef came to talk to us. By the time he came by, I had started feeding my son rice, fruit, and chicken nuggets. It turns out that they only had one fryer that night and everything was being fried in the same oil so anything being fried could cause an allergic reaction due to cross contamination! Luckily, my son had only taken a few bites of the nugget and he only had a slight rash on his chin. I was told that a nurse was available if we felt like we needed her. THISCROSSCONTAMINATION issue is a huge deal. What if my son, who just turned one, had gone into anaphylactic shock! He’s too small to tell me he’s having symptoms that can’t be seen. There are people with all kinds of allergies so this was completely unacceptable. In the end, there was very little my son could eat. On the chefs second or third visit to the table, he mentioned that he could make our son something but by then it was too late and we were almost done with the meal. Overall the food was ok, but it is not the best buffet I’ve been to in California. Some casino buffets are better than this one. I was expecting more from Disney. I was excited to try the pb&j pizza. Our birthday boy loves pb&j and he seemed really excited to try it, but it wasn’t good and he left it alone after one bite. I was expecting a soft, almost bread-like crust but it was the complete opposite! The«crust» was stale, like three day old toast, and flavorless. The peanut butter and jelly themselves were good but the crust was a total miss. I think pb&j sandwiches would have been better than the pizza. The other pizzas were very tasty and my son loved the Mac-n-cheese pizza. The actual mac-n-cheese was a totally different story. If I had been blind folded, I would have sworn I was eating plain, wet noodles. There wasn’t the slightest cheese flavor in there. The prime rib was the best I’ve ever had! My husband wouldn’t try it because he doesn’t like rare meat, but everyone who tried it really enjoyed it. I realize I’m writing a book here, so I’m just going to advise parents to keep in mind that the characters walk around during the meal so children who are weary of the characters are not going to have a good time. My one year-old screamed and cried every time he saw the characters. He was very clingy and nervous that the characters would come back. My three year old wasn’t very fond of them either and he would stop eating every time he saw a character.

Probably not my first choice for Disney dining in terms of buffet food, but if you’re eating with young kids(10 and under) this is a great place for a family. I’ve only been here for dinner service. The food itself was just so-so, but the service was very attentive, the characters charming and very interactive. Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale(there might’ve been another character, I can’t remember) all come around about every 15 minutes or so and visit each table while you eat. They will happily sign autographs and take pictures. Before you are seated you are posed for a professional photo that will be brought to your table for purchase. Save some serious change by taking your own pic. Dinner had a wide variety of foods – salads, soups, carving stations, seafood, breads, veggies and pasta. There was a bit of everything from teriyaki chicken and white rice, fried chicken, Caprese salad, carved roast beef and lots more. For kids, favorites like macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and chicken nuggets are offered. We didn’t try the PB&J pizza, but it looked popular. My daughter really enjoyed her meal and tried a bit of everything. Us adults weren’t as enthralled with the food – it was like one of the buffets from an old off-the-strip Vegas casino. Lots of desserts here geared toward young and young at heart. Things like Jello, fruit crisp, a soft serve machine and«dirt cups» for the kids. Soft drinks are included, but spirits and wine can be added to your tab.

Garsh!(Goofy’s favorite expression.) I love character dining! This was my second visit to Goofy’s Kitchen. The first time was for my sister’s bachelorette brunch a few months ago. For that visit, our party utilized my sister’s cousin’s Disney cast member discount. It is normally pricey and they do give you a discount if you are a pass holder. My second visit was just yesterday on my birthday, January 1st. My sweetie and I had reservations for brunch and proceeded to the reservation line where the desk clerk was very efficient and friendly. Next we were in a short line for photos with Goofy where we later have an option to purchase a package of prints in a commemorative book that was recipe, postcards, and a download code to retrieve the electronic photo. The servers are courteous and efficient and replenished our beverages in a timely manner. The only reason why I don’t rate Goofy’s Kitchen a perfect 5 is because the buffet is 3 stars. Food is just fine and not spectacular. On both visits, I enjoyed the Mickey waffles. My sweetie liked the mac and cheese pizza. Next time I will try the PB and J pizza. My chocolate birthday cupcake with Mickey confetti and Mickey chocolate on top was nice. Interacting with the characters was the BEST! All the characters especially Minnie Mouse were so sweet and attentive. Love Chip and Dale, Pluto, and of course Goofy! There were several other New Year babies brunching yesterday and we all got sang to. If I could have, I would have stayed at Goofy’s until they closed for the afternoon. 5+ stars for the character dining experience and a true score of 4.5 overall. It’s the magical dining experience with Disney. Thank you Goofy’s Kitchen for a great birthday brunch! Love, Lilah

Goofys kitchen is always great fun. We usually come to Celebrate Birthdays. I’m not a big fan of buffets but the food here is surprisingly tasty and like anything Disney, it’s a bit pricey, but it is all about the experience. The kids love singing along with the characters & having their favorites come say hello to their table. All in all great experience.

This was the strangest character meal I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been to all of them on the east coast at Walt Disney World. Our reservation was at 7:50 a.m., so I was expecting it to be a little calmer; however, we checked in to find a sea of people waiting. Once giving our name to the hostess we prepaid our meal and gratuities(this was new to us). We took our photo with Goofy and then the waiting game began. I was a little panicky, as we were catching a flight out that morning and our driver was set to pick us up at 9:15. We finally got seated around 8:20 and were told to visit the buffet(we did not have a set server) Here’s where things got weird — it was breakfast. 8:20 am… yet the buffet had salad, soup, and other dinner entrees. There were some breakfast items, but few and far between. My boyfriend said«well, Goofy is the one in the kitchen!» The peanut butter and jelly pizza was a fun concept, but the crust was so tough it was almost inedible. There were some great character interactions with Chip, Dale, and Pluto. Unfortunately, Minnie never made it to our table by the time we needed to leave. We had the PhotoPass+ package(a phenomenal deal!!!), so the photos were included with the meal. All in all, a good way to meet characters without the wait in the park; however, in comparison to the other character meals I’ve had at Disney Parks throughout the world(all of Walt Disney World and a few in Disneyland Paris) this was probably my least favorite.

Goofy’s Kitchen is located at the Disneyland Hotel near the end of Downtown Disney. I would have never gone but had in-laws staying there. They said breakfast was decent so we decided to try dinner. Apparently it’s an all-U-can-eat buffet and needed to pay before we sat down. I paid nearly 100.00 for myself and my petite 13 year old daughter. $ 98 to be exact. OK. I thought, if the price is this steep, it must be amazing! I’m thinking steak? Lobster? If it’s that good I don’t paying. The last place I paid this much for a buffet was in Vegas. Anyone who’s been there knows how extravagant and elegant their spreads can be. When I got to the buffet, I couldn’t believe my eyes. «Stunned» would be the word. The food was clearly beyond sub standard. I always thought that Hometown buffet was bad until now. Disney has always held itself to a high standard in everything they do. They’ve worked very hard to build a brand that people can put their trust in. Why then is this happening? It seems more and more that Disney has lost track of what Walt himself started out to do. The bottom line seems to be the most important thing anymore. How could you be serving up crap like this and expect people to pay Vegas buffet prices. The fried chicken was soggy. The potstickers weren’t good at all. Swai, the cheapest fish money can buy was probably the biggest Wow factor for me. Mac n cheese? Really? Where did you shop for this stuff, the frozen food isle at the 99 cent store? I think all the Disney executives should hold a dinner meeting here and experience how bad it really is. Especially for the price. It seems like such a simple thing to understand and fix. Obviously the only people that keep this place open are tourists that stay in the hotel, otherwise there’s no way on Earth any locals would ever spend their money here more than once. If it weren’t for tourists or you would be closed. A worthy mention would be for the many characters making their rounds to the tables. They were great! The one star I gave was for them! If you are a local, don’t bother spending your hard earned money here. Goofy’s Kitchen should do what seems obvious to me. Serve food worthy of the Disney brand we’ve all come to love.

I met Pluto! And a bunch of other Disney characters. That was pretty cool. I have to say, I was pretty irritated when I got there. Keep in mind, we had a reservation already, and showed up to check in 10 minutes early. There was already a bit of a line– no problem. When we got to the counter and paid, the cast member tells us «Go take your picture with Goofy, and you’ll be seated right away! No wait!». We take our picture and start heading in… but another cast member stops us and tells us to wait until our name is called. Um, okay, so the first person lied to us. Whatever. So we wait another 40 min… no joke… 40 minutes to get called. We showed up early yet still wait. Not to mention the waiting area is loud, chaotic, and full of little kids running around. Not to mention it was flu season, so disease prevention is obviously not a high priority at Disneyland. Trust me, the best birth control is that waiting room. Screw having kids. The food is okay. Nothing more than your standard Marriott brunch buffet. It is a pretty cool atmosphere having the characters walk around. Oh, and it wouldn’t be one of my reviews without mentioning booze. They serve mimosas, but they are $ 15 each. EACH. We guessed they make it so expensive to discourage intoxication around all the children.

We were a little apprehensive about spending this much money on a buffet not knowing how my 2 year old would react. Seeing the smile on his face as the characters started dancing was worth every penny. Really fantastic experience. We decided to skip the line and not wait to take pictures with Goofy and headed straight in to eat. As we walked in, we ran into Minnie and she was really sweet and walked us to our table. My little man was thrilled! The chef was awesome and made my son something special since he has food allergies. The music/dancing is every 30 minutes at dinner and my son LOVED it. The food during dinner time was mainly kid friendly so pizza and hot dogs, but they also had roast beef and fish. So there was plenty to choose from and everything was replenished often. There was a ton of fresh fruit and desserts were plentiful and yummy! Overall the food choices were OK but the quality was above average for a buffet. Would highly recommend as the experience is what you are paying for. The characters stopped by plenty and it was a blast.

The characters walk around, stopping by each table, and interact w/the patrons is truly an amazing experience. I grew up watching Disney cartoons. Coming here not only brought Gavin a huge ass smile to his face but it brought a smile to my face, too. Living day-to-day rushing to everything is the norm for me and despite my chill attitude, I am usually uptight because of what I need to juggle on a daily basis. Coming here was a breath of fresh air for me. It brought out the kid in me. I felt like I was a kid all over again. The prices are outrageous and the food is pretty good, however. What do you expect from a Disney restaurant located inside a Disney hotel? After the woman swiped my card, I felt a hole in my bank account immediately but once I saw Goofy, my woes dissipated because how could anyone not smile and be happy around Goofy?! Gavin and I were in line to get our photo taken. Gavin was scared AF but that didn’t stop me from hugging Goofy. I don’t photograph well so I was surprised that the picture came out good so I bought the package($ 30 something) and it comes in a Goofy’s Kitchen folder w/Goofy’s recipes and whatnot. Hella cute. We were seated almost immediately after the picture was taken. As we made way towards our table, Gavin’s eyes started to shine brighter and brighter. I knew that despite being afraid of the characters, he would have a blast. So did I! We were lucky enough to be admitted w/o a reservation and every single person in uniform made us feel so welcomed. What I liked was that the chef walked around to ask how everyone’s meal was; his tone and his expression made me believe that he enjoys and love his job. When at Goofy’s Kitchen, my diet did not exist. I mean, I tried at first but when I saw pancakes and waffles in the shape of Mickey, I caved. You can either do breakfast or lunch at 7 in the morning. Pizza? Chicken tenders? Sopes? Ice cream? Yes, I did have a scoop of chocolate ice cream for breakfast. Be jealous. A great experience hopefully Gavin will never forget. I will be back down in Southern California this December and I plan on coming back for dinner. No theme park this time(because I’m not made of money) but it’d be nice for Gavin to have some of the characters that did not get to sign his autograph book sign it this time.

Awesome experience for my young nieces who are visiting for the first time. The entire staff from parking to the wait staff and the characters were really welcoming and friendly and I had a great experience and highly recommend bringing the kids here for a special occasion. I made reservations the day before for 6 online. You must hold your spot with a credit card. Brunch ends at 1130 and the only reservation that was open was at 1110. I was afraid that we wouldn’t get enough time with the characters so I checked in early at 1045 and they has us seated by 11. My nieces got to take a picture with goofy in his kitchen while we waited. Once we were seated, the server was really nice and we had characters come around every 5 – 10 minutes. We had chip, Dale, Minnie, Pluto and goofy and got plenty of opportunities for pictures/video. We were there well past 1130 and there was plenty of food/characters until we left. Thanks to all the staff that created a wonderful experience for my whole family!

Goofy’s Kitchen Character Dining Experience(breakfast/brunch) comes with a hefty price tag but I am so glad we did it! Book EARLY — I mean like weeks or a month early because the times you want go fast. One of the frustrating things about this experience is that we arrived 10 minutes before our 1040 reservation time but didn’t even get through the line to property at the till until about 1050am; I did not anticipate having to wait 20 minutes to get processed to start our breakfast buffet with Goofy. There were 4 registers and only 2 were being utilized yet extra staff were talking to each other and did not at all appear to be trying to get through the line quickly. Aside from the frustrating beginning, the experience was truly magical and couldn’t have been any better than I imagined. The buffet itself had endless choices ranging from an omelette station(with tons of toppings), Mickey waffles, Mickey pancakes, banana foster crepes, sausage, bacon, potatoes, eggs, fruit, pizza(mac ‘n cheese, cheese, pepperoni, Hawaiian, and Peanut butter & Jam), mac ‘n cheese, chicken nuggets(quite large and juicy chicken chunks), soups(I really wanted to try the clam chowder but did not have room), a cold section including smoked salmon, eggs benedict(I didn’t care for these), and a Minnie Patries section(mini in size but Minnie because Minnie Mouse is the Pastry Chef at Goofy’s Kitchen ;-) Highlights for our party of 5 included: Mac ‘n cheese pizza, omelette station, smoked salmon, and Mickey Waffles(really good!). There isn’t any whipped cream out on the buffet but I asked our server and she brought some over to us in cups. Also, it was my son’s 4th birthday on our visit; we let them know and they came over with a special Mickey cupcake, candle, and sang to him. Goofy’s Kitchen closes at Noon but we didn’t get out of there until 1230PM and there were at least another dozen tables still eating and the characters kept coming around until we left. I was surprised at how many times we got to see the characters(Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, & Dale) in addition to the photo op with the Disney Photo Pass Photographer at the entrance for the official picture with Goofy in his kitchen. Despite the hefty price tag, it was a really special experience for our family and I’m so glad we decided to celebrate my son’s birthday here!

Plan ahead to make your reservation! Had my 4 year old niece in town and knew she would love this place, but because I waited too long, could only get a later reservation time(terrible for little ones). So was it worth it? Absolutely. First, its quite a walk away from the Disneyland Park. Its located in the Disneyland hotel. So after spending several hours at Disneyland, I was not expecting the hike to the restaurant. Second, although we had reservations, it still took them over 10 minutes to seat our party of 6. Third, its mediocre buffet food; nuggets, pizza, etc. Blah. Fourth, its pricy. So why 4 stars? Like everything with Disney, they go above & beyond for the kids. The Disney characters are a non-stop parade visiting each and every table. My niece LOVED it. We had Alice, Minnie, Wendy, Pluto, Chip, Dale & Goofy. There may have been more, but that’s all I can remember. The characters didn’t just appeal to the 4 year old. Minnie Mouse was hysterical, «flirting» and«kissing» my teenage son. Plus, our server was fantastic. She ensured that the adults had wine. Yay! Very much needed in this over stimulating and loud environment. Husband and I had taken our kids years ago to the same thing at Disney World. Kids love it.

What an experience that you don’t want to miss! I absolutely loved it here from beginning to end. If you’re coming for the first time to experience Disney this is a great place to eat! It is located in the Disneyland hotel near downtown Disney by ESPN zone I have only tried the breakfast menu and loved it. There are so many options to choose from. What I love is that it is buffet style so you get to choose whatever you want and however much you want. We made reservations a couple days in advance and they only had 7:50am which worked out for us. We parked in the Disney parking structure which opens an hour earlier than the park. I didn’t realize the park opened at 9am so parking opened at 8am. I called Goofys Kitchen and they told me it wouldn’t be a problem to just show up when I can. Luckily parking opened earlier and we were on time. When we checked in my daughter’s got to take a picture in Goofys kitchen with Goofy. It was super cute. We got seated and were able to get up and start eating. They have so many options for breakfast it’s insane — but awesome. They had eggs to pasole to pizza, mac n cheese, their famous pb&j pizza which sadly was way too hard to eat so we didn’t enjoy it. All their food has so much flavor and right toppings. Their desserts were dessert heaven! I’m no kid but I was that day! Dirt pudding is my fav and they had it, along with pies, cookies, jello, custards, the list goes on. While dining the characters come to your table and interact with you while taking pics. It is pricey but totally worth it! Prices go up after 1pm so I would make reservations for morning to early afternoon! Love, love, love it here!
