Never have I had worse«service» in my life which is very disappointing considering this is a Disney owned establishment. My husband is disabled and on crutches and we came to Trader Sam’s for some drinks with friends who were visiting. Upon arriving at the door we were told that it was capacity. So we walked over to ESPN Zone. Disappointed with their selection we walked back to Trader Sam’s to wait. When we arrived the second time the same girl told us that we could wait outside and a waitress would be with us shortly. AFTERWAITING34MINUTES no one ever came… So asked the girl if I could just go inside and order our drinks and she then pointed to a newly formed line and said«well you still need to wait because all these people are in front of you.» When we arrived no one is in line, moreover we were told that someone would be with us to take our order. Additionally no one was accommodating to the fact that my husband is disabled.

My friends are obsessed with drinking here. I met up with them and ordered the pineapple burger or whatever it’s called. It was smothered in some teriyaki sauce, disgusting. The bacon tasted OLD I ate half because I was starving and I let my server take it back. He didn’t offer to replace it with something fresher or to take it off my tab. They’re greedy and only interested in making money, I mean it is Disneyland. So I went to earl of sandwich instead, picked something up and went back in. It was a million times better. I’m pretty done with Disneyland after today. Anyway I paid my bill which was 14 dollars for disgusting food and got the hell out of there.

Trader Sam’s is where parents go to get hammered when their kid is sleeping in the stroller mid day at the Magic Kingdom. The atmosphere is fantastic and I loved every minute of my visit. There were a couple of thunderstorms where the bartenders would spray water into the air, as well as shipwrecks when someone ordered a related drink. The menu is full of fun cocktails offered in souvenir glasses(or without, I don’t need any more glassware). At $ 17 the pupu platter was a little steep in cost, but then I remembered where I was at… Disney.

SUMMARY Fun tiki-themed place to stop by after a day of Disney for some tasty and strong drinks. FOOD Very limited food menu of only appetizers. DRINKS Annoyingly, drink prices are not listed on the menu. Some drinks come with souvenir mugs/bowls, but you can opt-out of it. The souvenir mug/bowl will probably run you at least $ 10 – 20. Krakatoa punch– $ 12 for just the drink and probably at least $ 10 for the souvenir mug. Comes with a freebie light-up ice cube. Very strong and sweet. Uh-Oa!- $ 20 for just the punch and $ 41 including the souvenir bowl to take home.(FWIW, the bowl actually seemed to be made of durable material, not just a crappy plastic thing, although I still wouldn’t pay $ 20 for it.) This punch is meant to be shared with 2 – 3 people, although our server recommended 2 and said because there’s a lot of ice. o. O It also comes with a show where the server lights the sugar cubes on fire and then you throw cinnamon into the drink while chanting at it. Our server’s lackluster attempts were pretty hilarious. Then, you blend the sugar into the drink and the fire obviously goes out. Drink was okay and tasted very earthy. Secret menu items( ) like the Black Pearl($ 8.75) are still the most reliable choices. LOCATION Right next to the pool at Disneyland Hotel. This bar is outside of the park. 2 hours free parking in the Downtown Disney lot. Just a note that this bar does not qualify for the additional 2 hours parking with validation, since it is not considered a table-service restaurant.

Trader Sam’s is a wonderfully fun place to rest those tired feet after a long day at Disneyland. Imagine the Enchanted Tiki Room as a bar & now you have Trader Sam’s. The cocktails they serve up here are above all, fun & colourful. Along with the tiki inspired atmosphere, I could literally waste a whole day here. A must do on a trip to the Parks.

This can only be a partial review because, tragically, I didn’t actually end up inside. I stopped by the night before Dapper Day, and the bar was unsurprisingly, crowded on a Saturday night when the area was filled with vintage enthusiasts. We waited in line to get into the bar for a while, but with a promise of at least another forty minutes until we could even get inside, we decided to give in and grab a seat on the patio instead. The patio surrounding the bar is first-come, first-served for seating, and if you sit within the ropes, you’ll get table service. It’s still very much themed, lined with tiki torches and heat lamps, and we were seated right next to a wonderful live Hawaiian band. I ordered based on the mug I wanted, of course, and got the Krakatoa Punch, which GLOWS. It was good, potent but drinkable, and the mug really is great. There aren’t any drink prices on the menu, and the drink + mug was definitely more than I was expecting, so be prepared for some sticker shock. Unfortunately, I have to take a star off because the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered the Hawaiian flatbread, which ended up being forgot by the kitchen and being comped by the staff. I appreciated the excellent Disney service, as always, but the flatbread was pretty bland and unremarkable. My friend got the chicken & lettuce wraps which I tasted and were also quite bland, IMO. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. Apart from the«meh» food, this was one of my favorite parts of visiting Disney, and I didn’t even get to see the best part! I can’t wait to go back and properly experience the tiki bar, but the patio is pretty great too.

The gold standard for Orange County tiki bars. The drinks are seriously good and the ambiance and food are award winning. Love it when they have live music at the outdoor section. Favorite drink: tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum!

Recently spent the latter half of our evening at Trader Sam’s. This place is hoppin’ on a Friday night. The place was full inside but I managed to snag a table for my friends and me outside by the two guys playing live music. The tiki torches were lit and the heat lamps were on to provide a comfortable ambiance. We had a group of 4 and were thankfully able to swap our table with another party of 2. We quickly perused the menu and ordered a few drinks. I had the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum. It was orange and pineapple flavors with coconut crème, served over crushed ice. It was really tasty. My friends and I enjoyed the live music and the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. We didn’t order the food since we had just dined at nearby Steakhouse 55 Lounge. Drinks are pricey here but it’s pretty fun. Inside, they have this really cool volcano show.

Love the décor and atmosphere here. Seating is first come first serve and there are heaters out in the patio for when you late dine. The drinks all were fun and playful, but most of them contained rum, the one alcohol that I don’t like to taste. Only three of the drinks off the menu have the option of getting it in a souvenir cup(costs ~10 $ extra depending on the cup). The food was mediocre, nothing amazing. I ordered the fried string beans(felt like it was overfried), ahi tuna(pretty tasty), and the shrimp tacos(barely any shrimp in my opinion!). Next time I come I’ll try getting a seat inside at the bar!

It’s a must-visit every time I’m in town, which is more often than is necessary for an adult, but just perfect for me. If you are lucky enough to snag a seat inside(which, with only 6 – 7 tables and a bar, can be akin to winning the lottery on a Friday or Saturday), you can sometimes get a show with your drink. Hint: the«Uh-Oa» involves a song and fire and is pretty freaking awesome. This one is not available out on the patio. Should you be unable to get a chair inside, the patio outside also has full service and in the evening often has two lovely gentlemen playing guitars and singing. Either way, it’s a great place once the pool clears of screaming kids and the adults start filing in.

This is the grown-up side of Disneyland! Very cool décor and a warm ambiance makes this place the ultimate escape for people who don’t want to hear screaming kids or tourists. It’s hidden at the end of Downtown Disney and I never knew it existed until a friend told me about it. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were great. The service is really good here too. It’s the same Disney hospitality but for adults! Prices are good too. Not too pricy but enough to make it more of an exclusive spot instead of a convenience. If you’re on a date, I recommend Trader Sam’s.

One of our favorite bars in the Disneyland area! Even better when the musicians play(and sing) your favorite Hawaiian songs! My boyfriend and I came here twice and we haven’t been disappointed yet. However, the crowd here can get crazy. It took us 15 minutes just to get an order in! The wait was worth it though, where else in Disney can you have a drink by the fire pit, in a Hawaiian esque scenery, overlooking one of Disneyland’s famous hotels, with two Hawaiian guys serenading you? We ordered the Piranha and Python, the drinks were perfect! We just sat down and relaxed the entire night after a long day of walking around Disney. The seats, if you can find any, were comfortable and spacious. If you’re lucky enough, you can grab a seat behind the tiki bar, infront of the firepit where it’s nice and warm. As an FYI, try to order your drinks in glasses. The bartender will ask if you want it in a to-go cup. Don’t choose it unless you’re planning on leaving soon after. We don’t feel like you get as much in those to-go cups as you would in a glass. Cheers!

The best thing about this place is the live music! Shout out to the musicians that make this feel like you’re really in Hawaii. Sitting outside on the patio as the sun sets, listening to the music and sipping a maitai is a real beautiful thing! I went on a Friday night and there was a line to get into the dining room. My friend and I sat outside because of the line and never made it inside. They also kept the doors closed and had someone stand outside to make sure no one snuck inside. you couldn’t even go in to use the restroom. the wait was around 40 mins so we sat outside with the tiki torches. I tried the«kalua pork» flatbread which is really a bbq pork pizza. to call this kalua pork is a misnomer and I think it should be corrected. It was still delicious though lol the drinks tasted ok. There was sweet(mai tai) and strong(zombie), standard(margarita) and novelty(uh oh a). some come in souvenir cups, none of which are really worth the extra $$(usually double the price). I also had the wings which were really good. Come for the ambiance, the music and the fun drinks. I loved it and I didn’t even walk inside lol

This is a very cool place, soooo cool that it’s pretty hard to find a seat! My BF and I went one night because I really had my heart set on getting at least one souvenir drink glass… I got two! We sat at the bar, in the lower area — I believe it’s for people in wheelchairs, but there wasn’t anyone who needed it at the time we were there. Anyway, it was busy, for sure… but our bartender was kind of a grump. He was cordial, but it felt forced. We started off with one drink each, and then ordered their poke. I had a zombie something? Haha… the one that came in the zombie head glass. And I can’t remember what my BF had. Both drinks were pretty strong, but they were goooood! Our ahi poke on the other hand… wasn’t so good. I could tell right away that it wasn’t fresh, and I know it’s probably previously frozen, but … It didn’t smell so good. We still ate it, and we didn’t get sick afterward, so we were saved! We had one more drink each, collected our glasses, and split. I’d like to go back again, hopefully with a good table or better bar seat… and friendlier bartender.

Love the atmosphere, love the food and drink! It’s smack in the middle of the three Disneyland Hotel towers, weaved in-between the monorail and E-ticket swimming pools. Enter off the south side by the Frontier Tower or from the west side near Steakhouse 55. It was still packing at 9:30 pm on a weeknight. You seat yourself at the bar or at the tables located indoors or out. If it’s chilly, don’t worry, the patio seats have heat lamps. We had the following: Piranha Pool($ 11) includes strawberry vodka blended with pineapple juice, cream of coconut, strawberry purée and blue curaçao. It nicely retained its red-blue color. Like others have said, Trader Sam’s does a very good job of blending the alcohol into the drink. Normally, my nose easily picks up the alcoholic scent, but not in this drink. I had a sip and it was a pretty tasty combination. Schweitzer Falls($ 4.99) is made with tropical Juices and Sam’s Gorilla Grog topped with Sprite. It was very much dominated by the pineapple juice taste. I vaguely remember the sprite and I have no idea what gorilla grog is and apparently, after some googling, no one other than Disney really knows what’s in it. Not bad for a non-alcoholic drink, but if you come to imbibe, definitely get the piranha pool instead! Kālua-style Pork Flatbread($ 10) had pulled pork, barbecue sauce, red onions, cilantro and mozzarella cheese. It seemed silly not to have something to munch on while drinking and I prefer the kālua-style pork flatbread here than the one at Tangaroa Terrace. The one next door is flatter and seems to have skimp on the ingredients. However, I think they both likely share a kitchen, so I probably came on an off-day when I got the super flat flatbread. I guess my point is that I was pleasantly surprised that the flatbread came with a good portion of pork, cheese, and garnish. Depending on what drink you order, the bartenders and the location react accordingly. ;) That itself is worth either another trip back to Trader Sam’s and/or prolonged loitering, I mean, downtime at this cool bar. Of course, Trader Sam’s is packed with so much visual distractions of knick knacks that you can have plenty to read, search, and browse as you wait for your food or wait for your remaining party. From where I sat, my eyes lit up when I saw a huge jug with coins in it, labeled Paradise Falls!(If you don’t get where this reference is from, let me know so I can enlighten you and introduce you to what you’ve been missing out!) AP discounts on food and non-alcoholic drinks only. Disney will not give you a price break on your alchy. =P

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar was not really that enchanting of an experience for me. After a lonnng, exhausting day at Disneyland, we hauled our butts over to this bar located a bit ways away. By the time we got there, we honestly just wanted to eat/drink. We walked in and it was a small space, packed with a good-sized night crowd. Obviously it was gonna take a bit of time to be seated. Outside seating for the most part was free-seating, but they had closed off about 1⁄3 of the patio for unexplained reasons and so finding a seat outside was tough as well. Lucky for us, a kind couple was leaving and flagged us down to give us their spot. After we sat down, it took a long time for someone to come greet us, clean the tables, and/or give us a menu. It took even longer for them to come back to take our orders. Our patience ran thin at this point because the outside service was so haphazard! We were both on the borderline with our hunger since we had been eating on and off throughout the day, we wanted to share something and so asked about portion size. The waiter was nice, but the sandwich he described as huge and filling, came out to be a fairly average sized meal. Then we ordered their Uh-Oa drink which came in their special Uh-Oa mug that you can purchase for an extra charge to your purchase of the drink. When the drink finally came out, our new waitress had some fun with us as we Uh-Oa! and threw cinnamon into the fire a few times too many. Loved the enthusiasm, but then when she returned with the food it was like a 180 degree change of mood? We didn’t even have utensils or napkins… The Uh-Oa drink was pretty cool, the concept + mug — however the drink was light and didn’t feel/taste like there was any alcohol mixed in it. The sandwich we ordered was not memorable. All in all, the idea of the restaurant, the décor, the ambiance was quite«enchanting,» but the experience there was sadly disappointing.

As a fan of Disney and the Tiki Room, this is a bar that I want to like so much! «Welcome to our tropical hideaway, you lucky people you.» Enchanted Tiki Bar is outside the park at the Disneyland Hotel(no ticket required!). Repeat visits over the last few months and repeat negative experiences leave me with no better reaction than the cliché 2-star Unilocal review text, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Service is slow. It’s difficult to get a seat, to get a server’s attention, and get a drink or food. On every visit, this turns what is experience my friends and family are excited about, into a frustrating experience where we wait… and wait… and wait. I can’t understand this, because this isn’t due to crowds. They meter how many people can be inside and they’re strict on how many guests are allowed inside at the bar at any specific time. I’ve never been on a night where they felt understaffed. PROPS: An AMAZING idea for a bar. Purchasing a premium drink on the menu prompts a unique«tiki room» type experience to occur for ALL of the guests in the bar to enjoy. It’s a thematic home run, and it’s like dinner AND a show! SLOPS: Unlike the expectation set by other Disney experiences, you won’t get much attention from the staff here. Expect to wait a LONG time to get someone’s attention, to get a drink, and to get your check at the end of the night.

It’s great to live like an adult when acting like a kid. Yes, drinks and Disney go hand in hand and I love it when worlds collide! Ever wonder what it would be like if imagineers decided to create a bar? Wonder no more. Trader Sam’s is what happens when creativity runs wild with a few bucks behind it. The drinks aren’t necessarily my thing as they are fruity and sweet, but I’m a sucker for theatrics. The show, the rigamarole, the production and the process all for a drink — it’s awesome! The prices are, well, Disney prices and the tourists(us) are happy to pay them, but hey, I’m down to fork over a few bucks for a great experience and a great experience it was.

A tiki bar at best! A friend of mine would always post pictures of this place on social media so the wife and I made it a point to stop on in during our next visit. It exceeded my expectations and the only thing I regretted was not wearing a Hawaiian shirt and sandals(which is not required). I ordered the Shipwreck and before you know it there was a high tide, thunderstorm, warning bells ringing and the crew screaming, «Swim for your life!» Next time I’ll be sure to order a double and see what comes out! The food was very tasty for Disneyland… A little on the pricey side but hey, you are paying for the experience so I appreciated the value. We didn’t take our kids however it can be kid friendly if you don’t have a screaming brat(jus sayin’)… Plus you don’t want to be the buzz kill. Not the biggest bar so not much room for a big party or family. I wish they would put one of these at California Adventure to save me the hike as this is located at the Disneyland Hotel.

Visited Trader Sam’s last night(Saturday night 3⁄5). I love this place because of the décor and the cool drinks. I gave it two stars because it doesn’t feel like a Disney establishment in terms of customer service and food handling. Our waitress was nice but very distracted. I ordered shrimp tacos, and when it came out there were two platters(each with 4 tacos). My first instinct was«holy huge servings!», but then I figure«good on Disney for giving us our money’s worth». Our waitress came by and pointed to the second plate of tacos and said«did they bring out extras?». Turns out there was only going to be one plate — and she says it must have been a mistake, do I want it? I said leave it if you’re only going to throw it. She said she’d probably throw it, so then we agreed to keep the extra plate. About 5 minutes later she comes back and says about the extra tacos«I’m sorry, I realized this may be someone else’s because I double checked what I put in and I only put in 1 order for you.» Then she proceeded to take the tacos. I don’t mind that she took them, because there’s no way we could’ve finished them. BUT what bothered me is she said it could be another table’s tacos — was she going to drop it off at said table? If so, that’s bad food handling am I right? Kitchen should make a new batch since it was sitting at our table for 5 minutes. It made us question the quality of our food. And it just felt unprofessional as a whole. Anyway, whatever. They probably won’t even read this review or care. Just wanted to put it out there.

You might have been to Trader Sam’s before, but the magical tiki place is inside. It’s a small bar, first come first serve. Inside they have a «storm» every 15 minutes(about 10 seconds long), and every time a guest orders a «Uh-Oa» the whole place has a little chant and the server lights the drink on fire. It’s dimly lit and very decorated and festive. The bartenders are super into their personalities as captains, they yell and ring bells, etc. There’s an outdoor fireplace and outdoor seating as well, which is what I think all of Trader Sam’s is. They both serve food we’ve just had drinks. The margarita is delicious and packs a punch! Cocktails run $ 13+ depending on the souvenir glasses, etc.

I love making and imbibing tiki types of drinks at home and this place was inspiring. I am grateful for Sam’s. An adult oasis in the Disneyland Hotel… thank you for existing. The pupu platter was really good. The Piranha Pool was beautifully crafted in both taste and appearance. The Piranha is not a rum drink and not all that boozy, but totally gorgeous. The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Rum is another standout drink. I loved it — my only vilification towards this drink is that I wish there was more liquid in that mass of shaved ice. The nutmeg and cinnamon dusting is sublime. The Uh Oa! was not a standout concoction, but the change in the mood of the bar and the energy shift that ensues as a disaster Goddess is summoned by all is well worth ordering or being there when another patron does! The rum drinks were strong and we appreciated that. A lovely respite from the crazy parks and downtown Disney. Well decorated. Intimate. Friendly.

Uh-Oa, Uh-Oa, Uh-Oa-Oa-Oa! Uh-Oa, Uh-Oa, Uh-Oa-Oa-Oa! That’s the chant that summons the Tiki goddess of disaster when you order that special drink that literally sparkles aflame as the drinker/bartender throw what looks like sand at the fire in the drink before they put that puppy out. When I first heard the chant enveloping this tiny bar, I admit I was a little confused… but after hanging out for a bit I quickly saw all of the dramatic spectacles associated with certain drinks. Like when someone orders a Shipwreck and you hear the storm and feel the water(no really you feel water coming down from the sky — courtesy of the bartender and his/her trusty spray bottle). Trader Sam’s has quickly become our favorite little place for an app/drink in the zoo that is Downtown Disney. Since we’re from the area, we order our drinks sans souvenir glass and the bartenders are always happy to use a normal glass(plus knock down the price significantly). And we are really liking the chicken lettuce wraps here which are crisp lettuce(not cheapy iceberg) paired with their ground chicken filling and hoisin sauce. Unfortunately Trader Sam’s does NOT validate so if you’re going to be in the area for more than 2 hours, you’re going to be out of luck. This place has an awesome vibe, great drinks, decent apps and most importantly is a bit of a show that everyone gets into… what are you waiting for? Go check it out! Unilocal 100 challenge: 10⁄100

If you are able to find this place, you will be so giddy over it! It’s such a hidden gem and the experience inside is so magical… like everything else Disney touches. First off, the bar is actually way smaller than I had imagine. It’s about maybe 10 – 15 seats at the bar which takes up majority of the actual space and then maybe 7 – 8 small tables. They got snack food and they got really interesting drinks! Each drink has a different trigger of the place, whether it be shouting from the bartenders, thunderstorms, sinking ships, or water being sprayed into the air. The environment is just so fun and fits the name of the place. But don’t let the fruit colors fool you, the drinks are STRONG as heck. This is great for a hangout with a friend or two but definitely not the place for large groups. You kind of have to hover over others to grab a seat also. Overall, it’s a fun place to start off your bar hopping night!

We ordered the Krakatoa Punch(I think that’s what it was called. Rum was the most important part) and all sorts of fun stuff started happening. Located within the Disneyland Hotel area past DT Disney! I was surprised by this bar! Definitely choose outdoor seating if you don’t want to be in a bar setting to chat with friends. Piranha Pool drink: Really good blended drink for those who don’t like strong liquor tastes Pu-pu platter: Generous size to snack on. The platter consists of fried green beans(tastes surprisingly yummy), 2 slices of sausages(can’t go wrong with that), chicken wings in a sweet tangy sauce, and some coleslaw salad.

Holy crap, this place is so fun. Perfect for a Birthday which is when I went, 26 and playin’ trix. :D The food was actually mediocre and not something I would come back for however; you come here for the drinks and atmosphere! Even after waiting in lines all day at Disneyland, the 30 minute wait for this spot was worth it. It’s loud, it’s pirate-y, it’s a tight squeeze, it’s boozy and they spray water across the whole bar acting like there’s a shipwreck. Hahaha it’s amazing. One thing I can’t forget to mention, the Coconut Cream cake they give for Birthday’s was one of the best cakes I have ever had in my life, ever! I can’t even(ha!) describe the deliciousness of this cake. It was so soft & –about to say that word some people seem to hate for some reason-… M O I S T. That plus the layers of the creamiest cream… Seriously, it was to die for and I was so sad to share it with the other people in my group. LOL Get it and do not share! I haven’t been to a lot a lot of bars, but Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar takes the cake and more. The atmosphere, bartenders, décor, and the drinks are all top-notch. You can’t expect anything less from Disney, after all. This is definitely a good place to stop by when you’re at Disneyland, but honestly I’ve come here even when I haven’t visited the park. This makes for such a good time, and the outdoor area is perfect if you have people underage who can’t go inside, or even if you just want to sit outside(the tiki torches are such a nice touch at night). I once came here in a group of 10 and we had plenty of room for our hella loud party outside lol Their specialty drinks are so good! I love the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum & the Piranha Pool. Both drinks were on the sweeter side so if you’re not a fan of super sugary drinks, try the Hawaiian beer options. Being that it’s a Disneyland bar, drinks are definitely not cheap but they’re poured with a heavy hand. You can’t taste them, but trust me after only 2 drinks I was feeling on top of the world, hahaha I can’t say enough good things about this place! Honestly it really does feel like a mini tropical vacation when you come here, especially when the weather is super hot(which is California 85% of the year anyway hehe). This will definitely be one of my most visited places!

Hands down the best pour in Disneyland. If you’re going out for drinks this is the place to go. Excellent drinks, and a fun selection. Super fun environment too! You can go inside and watch the bar come alive when specialty drinks are ordered, or you can chill outside by the tiki torches and relax to some hawaiin tunes. The guys who play here are SO talented, and be sure to make a request! There is also the option of grabbing a drink and taking it down to the fireplace to relax where it is often a little less crowded. Some food options are available here too, which are yummy. We love the wings, shrimp tacos, and crispy long beans! Always a must on vacation!

One of my really good friends from college recommended this place to me when she was showing me around her area and I can’t thank her enough. When I came I wasn’t sure what to expect, but when I walked into the bar it was definitely a sight to see. The indoor area of the bar is definitely where all the fun is at. It’s really lively and getting certain drinks will produce different scenes for people to see. It’s really fun to be a part of. I ordered a piranha pool because of all the good reviews I kept seeing on Unilocal and it didn’t disappoint. It was tasty, kind of fruity and sweet which is kind of what I expected. There wasn’t any special show for the piranha pool which was unfortunate, but i got to see some of the shows from the customers who were getting the drinks. Probably would come back next time I go to Disneyland.

Since we had a great experience last time, we were looking forward to heading over to Trader Sam’s for some pre-dinner drinks with our friends. Is is such a nice spot to relax and chat a bit before going back to the parks, and we couldn’t wait to go back! We made our way over around 5pm. After a futile effort to check the inside for a table for 4(a rare feat since indoor seating is very limited and it is always crowded), we settled on a table outside. The heating lamps were on, which made it comfortable since the air was slightly chilly. At first, we made the mistake of sitting at a table positioned behind the rope in the patio further back because it was the closest available table. About five minutes went by where no server approached us, even though the large party in the couch area across from us was being attended to, so we decided to move to the front(main) patio seating where a table had opened up. Still, no one stopped by to take our order, so we had two of us go inside to pay for and bring the drinks out in order to expedite the process. I wish they would expand the seating area inside or make a more concerted effort to check on parties sitting outside, but we were able to resolve things quickly. Once the boys arrived with our drinks, we all had a great time enjoying the location and our beverages. I ordered the virgin piña colada again(personal preference not to drink alcohol), and it was just as delicious as before. My bf got the tiki tiki tiki rum, which he said was a much better choice after the too strong ka-blue-ei from last time. Our two friends ordered the skipper sipper(non-alcoholic) and the rosita’s margarita, which they both really enjoyed. If it had to say the group favorite though, the margarita would probably be the winner. The total came to about $ 30, which was not that bad considering we were in Downtown Disney and we were able to sit and talk for as long as we liked. I hope that we’ll make this a regular pre-dinner stop from now on!

I’ve never been to Hawaii, but if I were to ever, this place is what I’d picture it to be. My fiancé and I went there on a windy and chilly night just to grab some drinks. We found a spot outside under a tiki torch and heating lamp. We ordered some girly fruity drinks and some food, and sat there enjoying live Hawaiian inspired musicians playing their tunes. I seriously felt like I was in Hawaii. Pros: — Their alcoholic beverages were delicious! Cons: — Their food was kinda gross…

I was originally drawn to this place because I had no idea that Disney would have a bar! Well technically it’s not inside the park, but it’s in the resort, so close enough. To get here,(unless you’re staying in the Disney Motel or anything nearby) you’re gonna have to park in the parking lot that’s kinda kitty corner to where the lot is near the movie theater. Yeah it kinda sucks with all the walking but remember, this place is more for the tourists, not the locals. So about the drinks… I read a couple of the reviews here & everyone is claiming that they aren’t strong… well mine were! My boyfriend & my friends that tagged along actually traded the drink for another because none of us could handle it! I can’t remember which one it is… It was the drink that came in the tiki glass. We traded that drink for the Shrunken Zombie head which was also strong but bearable enough to drink. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here! It’s great because you do feel tucked away & you don’t hear the traffic or street noise as much. It’s pretty cosy at night! We also ordered the Hawaiian flatbread… SOGOOD… I highly recommend that! Yes it’s definitely worth the $ 9. I don’t drink much but I would come back here again when I’m in the mood!

I had been wanting to come to Trader Sam’s for a while and was not incredibly impressed with my first experience here. It is a really cool tiki bar located inside of the Disneyland Hotel that I had heard good things about. It was Christmas Eve and we were celebrating my friend’s engagement so we wanted the experience to be special for her and her fiancé. There is a large patio area outside of the restaurant, so we sat out there since the inside of this place is small and really, really dark. Our server was nice and friendly and came over to get our drink orders pretty soon after we sat down. After that, it took over 15 minutes for our drinks to come out. I would be more understanding of that if the whole patio was filled with people, but it wasn’t; it was actually pretty deserted and the inside of the restaurant didn’t look packed either. Also, none of the drinks we ordered were blended drinks, and several of them were just beers and one coffee, so I’m not sure why they took so long. So that right there looses a star. When our server brought our drinks, he didn’t apologize for how long they took. I worked in the restaurant industry for years and whenever I delivered drinks that took far longer than they should have, I always apologized. It’s just good customer service. The drinks were actually pretty good. I got the«Rosita Margarita» and it was delicious. My friends ordered some of the other specialty«tiki» cocktails and seemed to really enjoy them as well. Some of our group ordered food and they seemed happy with what they ordered. Our server was nice enough to offer to split our checks for us which I appreciated very much, but didn’t mention that there was an added 18% gratuity. I thought that was kind of weird, most places either state on the menu that they automatically add gratuity for parties of 8 or more,(maybe I wasn’t looking close enough, but I didn’t see it) or the server lets you know prior to adding it to the bill, which he didn’t. Overall, it was a pretty decent experience. I would come back next time I’m at Disneyland or Downtown Disney because the drinks were really good and this place has a fun tiki vibe. Like I said before, our server was really nice but it was just a little annoying how long our drinks took(which may or may not have been his fault).

Dined on the patio for some drinks and yummy treats. Kids and adults all enjoyed ourselves. Chilly on the patio, but their heat lamps gave comfort. Had to go inside to ask for menus and if table service was available, once they knew we were outside the service was great. Friendly, prompt, and attentive. Souvenir drinks came with some cool mugs and bottles. Alcohol specific souvenir mugs differ than the kid-friendly souvenir bottles. I shared a rum drink with my dad and got to keep a cool tiki mug. Kids loved their power packs packs and chicken nugget meals. I tried their bar menu of appetizers and enjoyed them as well.

tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum This place is dope! It is so crowded all the time though but if you manage to snag a table, be ready for some fun! First off I will say that if you like baby drinks, this is not the place for you(no offense). These drinks are STRONG and will for sure give you a nice bang for your buck. I always walk in sober and end up really buzzed! The bartenders are super friendly, fun and outgoing. They are more than happy to also make drinks off the menu so don’t be shy and ask the bartender to surprise you with one of their secrets. One of my favorite drinks is the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum, second best would be the Uh Oa. Sometimes depending on what drink you order the room turns into a show. As for food: you can munch on some sweet and spicy wings, some fried long beans(both come in the pu pu platter), you can also order the shrimp tacos and kalua flatbread(all really good). And if you like the cups that your drinks come in, you can also take some home as souveniers! Check this place out before heading into Disneyland haha It will make it so much more happier. Fun place, great food, friendly service and strong drinks! Tips: * Sit at the bar and say hi to Kelly! He is THEBEST! * Order the Uh Oa whenever you have a first timer visiting the bar.

For being the only place on the disneyland resort that is open passed 12 and still serving alcohol, this place is MAGICAL!!! It’s literally the only place serving alcohol after 12, so when we got there, there was a huge line of people trying to get their drink on or continue their already drunkiness. I felt like I was in line for a club. Anyway, they stop serving food at 12:30 and last call for drinks is at 1:00am, but you can take your drinks with you and finish them by the fire place outside until 2 am if you need to. The atmosphere is very lively inside. As is your typical tiki bar. The bartenders are smiling and taking their craft very seriously. The drinks take time to make because these guys want to give you the best!!! I recommend the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum drink! It’s like a spiked horchata! And it’s also inspired by the tiki room attraction in disneyland(duh) So, there may be a line if you head there past midnight but it’s totally worth the wait! Drinks are flavorful and strong! Right on the money! Disney you’ve done it again!

It’s where I should be every weekday at 5:30 and I sometimes can be found around noon(minus the alcohol). Trader Sam’s is where you want to go to forget about work and escape to old Hawaii and surround yourself in a tropical space that makes you feel the warmth of aloha, and by aloha I mean amazing mixed alcoholic drinks that’ll get you buzzed and lose sense of time. The staff are all friendly and keep the party going with their themed drinks like the Uh-oa! Certain concoctions make the bar come to life and have everyone chanting some made up Hawaiian word or covering their head from the«downpour» of the storm. You’ve got to experience it to get it. The best part about it is that you don’t have to pay admission to Disneyland parks to experience it! Just walk on over to Disneyland Hotel and look for the tiki décor with the fire torches around the hut! When I’m really stressed out at work, I’ll buy a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich and sit down by the fire pit just outside the bar and eat my lunch. It’s a great place to relax and it’s free to visit! No reservations necessary, it’s right outside of Downtown Disney and the parks away from the crowds and it’s just a different atmosphere.

This bar is so fun! My friends and I rarely go OUT out in downtown Disney due to the drive home back to south OC so our adventure started it was with fresh eyes And a hotel room nearby. We had heard about Trader Sam’s as a sort of secret Hawaiian themed bar secretly tucked away from it all inside the restaurant connected to the Disneyland Hotel. People say the lines are long and the empty patio will tempt you but I am a very patient person and love unique experiences so we went! I have this little thing where I don’t like to mix drinking with children so we didn’t start our night out till probably after 10pm but unsurprisingly, the line was still there waiting for us. It didn’t take more than 20 minutes for our party of 6 to get a table inside on a Saturday night in Spring but I can imagine it gets worse. Once we got inside I knew why we waited! The best way I can describe this bar is like a dark and mysterious mash up of the enchanted tiki room décor & anamotronic birds, baja sharkeez fruity cocktails and cutesy gimmicky names with charming Disney attention to detail — and a surprisingly well balanced drink! The«show» happens when people order the volcano drinks — expensive for those but so fun to have the whole bar shake and boom with thunder and lightening! Otherwise drinks were the standard $ 10 – 14 you can expect from a touristy fun zone. I would definitely come back! Sure it’s loud, sure you’re in tight quarters but oh my gosh this was like being transported to an island somewhere away from the kiddos and yet you’re still very close by! My only complaint is that they close early… I wish they didn’t because the drinks are so fun and very well put together. Definitely is the best bar I’ve ever seen Disney do! A great experience!

Love Love Looooove this place, and you don’t have to buy a park ticket to enjoy it! A few things to know: –Inside isn’t the only seating so if it’s packed(and it usually is), the surrounding outdoor patio with tables and comfy couches is also for the bar and a waiter will be around to take your order. Lovely chill feel like you’re on a far away island not in congested Anaheim. –If you DO want to score inside seating your best bet is to go during the week or right when it opens on the weekend. weekend afternoon/evenings will leave you standing for quite sometime, and when you are seated people will continually hoover over you until you leave. –You can order the drinks that come in souvenir cups as regular drinks saving you money and space in your backpack. After a couple of their Krakatoa Punch’s you’ll probably end up losing the cup anyway ;P If you have an extra hour or two in your Disney day definitely make a stop here for some fun and«refreshment» you wont regret it :)

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is truly a magical place to be as an adult in the Disneyland Resort. I had the Krakatoa Punch(strong but still very tasty) and my friend had the Piranha Pool(sweet and coconutty). Most of the mixed drinks have a rum base, with a few exceptions. The beer selection is rather mediocre, so I would suggest trying one of the unique rum cocktails. Some of the drinks come in cool tiki-themed souvenir mugs(at an extra cost) and some even come with a color-changing«ice cube»(free). The atmosphere inside of the bar is very lively and fun. The environment changes with different sound effects, chants, lights, and misting of water when certain drinks are ordered. The drinks are rather expensive(average about $ 13 each), but worth every penny if you take enough time to enjoy them and the atmosphere. Come early or at an off time to avoid the line getting into the bar. I cannot recommend this place enough; if you love Disney and rum this is the place for you!

For a kitschy bar with all the flair of a 60’s inspired movie(like Elvis) look no further than this place. Located within the Disneyland hotel compound, it’s a small bar with over the top bartenders who whoop and holler when an unsuspecting patron orders one of their volcano drinks: Lights flash, the room rumbles and the bartender rings the bell and yells out something that only the truly sober understand. The drinks are good, if not pricey, and the ahi poke appetizer is surprisingly really good. I mean REALLY good… and this is bar food?! Don’t come looking for nachos though… Annual pass holders get discounts on food, but not drinks(wouldn’t that be something?!) The moscato was sweet and refreshing and the michelada ranks right up there with the best of them. They charge you for the beer and $ 1.00 for the Clamato, so keep that in mind when you order that expensive import. If you’re basking by the pool, they’ll put the drink in a plastic to go cup… yup, cocktails to go… Now that’s service…
