Los Chilangos

Hemos venido aqui por recomendación de unos amigos que siempre venian a comer aqui. Ayer fue primera vez que fuimos a Los Chilangos y nos quedamos muy contentos del servico y la comida.
Mi novio pidio la godita de chicharron y yo pedi chilaquiles con salsa verde. De bebidas pedi un jugo que se llamaba vampiro, llevaba apio, vetabel, zanahoria y naranja, y estuvo delicioso.
Se les recomiendo este lugar. La atención de nuestro mesero, la comida estuvieron al 100.

I was driving around with my family last night, looking for good Mexican food and I spotted this place, I thought I will give it a try. Very welcoming place, I picked where I wanted to sit and the waiter gave me menu right away and recommended their most famous dishes. We got salsa and chips along with our drinks and waited around 10 minutes to get our food. We ordered wet carnesada burrito, just because I love green salsa. We got huge torta chilanga, they told us that everybody love it, so did we. For my daughter I ordered their mini tacos with rice and beans, my girl really liked it. This was my very first time in Los Chilangos and I had really good experience. I give 5 stars to our waiter and 5 starts to their food. The restaurant itself its very small but very nice and with great atmosphere. It is family owned business and I can tell they care about each customer. we will be definitely back for more.

How could this place have 4stars??? The food is just ok. The variety isn’t large. All the meat dishes have very little meat, so they short you by adding lettuce, and other like fillers. I had been there a couple of times, never fully happy but not entirely disappointed. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was the following event. I ordered a drink. When the drink came out it was the biggest one they had. I proceeded to ask «is this a small?» I thought I had ordered a small drink but I’m not perfect, I could be wrong. However the girl’s/waitress answer was: «you didn’t specify what size you wanted so if you say anything we just give u the biggest one». Say what??? Are u kidding me? Isn’t it the norm when someone asks for a drink the attendant’s response is what size? I mean if I’m wrong please reply by all means. Maybe I don’t get out enough but that was the first time I heard that «company policy». Remember, the food is average, so if you’re looking for average food with bad customer service and you like less than normal meat on your tacos, burritos, etc. this place is for you

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Anaheim and the only one with good Mexico City’s food that I have found.
The staff is very polite, and the service is usually pretty fast. Sometimes you got to wait a little but it’s all because of their fresh made food. You always need to wait when you want to get something yummy on your plate. Everything that I’ve tried has been excellent, which is essentially what keeps me coming back over and over again. The enchiladas suizas, all tacos, tortas, gorditas, tlacoyos, french fries; and it’s a great place to go for breakfast as well.
Los Chilangos has got a good atmosphere. They have a nice, big television usually playing Mexican football matches or Spanish music videos. You can eat indoors or outdoors, and there is a good-​sized parking lot for the number of tables there are. They have an extensive menu – so extensive that even my diet-​freak picky girlfriend finds something for her. I tend to order more things that I can physically eat, everything looks so good.
This restaurant is highly recommended and it’s where I always eat lunch or dinner.

Awesome service and great food! I had the torta Carnivora it was no joke! Huge and fresh. I recommend it if you are really hungry or going to share!

Amazing!!! By far the freshest and yummiest homemade food in Anaheim! Their flor de calabaza quesadillas are my fave! I can’t forget to mention their hand made tortillas are the perfect combination! I love their healthy juices, too! Definitely worth to try when you’re craving Mexican food.

First time here I was starving and this food sucked. The red salsa is really good and that’s about all that’s good. MY FOOD WAS COLD

If you feel like experiencing top of the line Mexican food, this is the restaurant you must put on your list. I’ve eaten here few times now, and every time I visit them, I try something different. So far I had tried their tacos, quasadillas, and tortas. The food is always fresh, it tastes amazing, and this place is very clean. I love the feel of this family owned business and their putting their best skills into making the food taste so fantastic. The food is very authentic, and I always love the presentation of food… it makes you hungry just by looking at it. After being here few times, I got hooked on this restaurant, and I will for sure go down the menu as I come back and try their other dishes. Keep up the good work guys!

First of all if you love Mexican food then this is your spot! They have a lot of options in their menu and their aguas are the best! The owners are very friendly and very attentive. The service is wonderful as well. I never leave disappointed:) This is my go to when I’m craving Mexican food! I highly recommend it!

The food here is delicious and authentic. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves Mexican cuisine. I will definitely come back to this place because of the hand-​made tortillas and excellent service.

This place it awesome! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is definitely the place. Little hole in the wall but it’s super clean food it made the moment you order so it might take a while but it’s worth it mean while you snack on their chips and red salsa!

New owners are humble, and the service here is exceptional! The food is phenomenal, I do recommend coming to eat here, whether it’s on a date, family or by yourself. I am definitely come back here again!

Came here on a busy Sunday with my boyfriend, we sat down and they brought us the menu, chips and salsa: D. I ordered the Menudo a Melon water and my boyfriend ordered 1 chicken quesadilla and 3 cecina tacos along with a guanabana water and let me tell you the food was so good, handmade hot corn tortillas, a nice combination of spices and flavor that usually some «mexican» restaurants lack off, it definitely hit the spot and will be coming back not just fof the food but also we got an excellent customer service, i felt really welcomed and comfortable and i think thats important when trying up new places!

I ordered to go and had a gordita to eat there while I waited for my order, I figured it would take long as other Unilocalers have commented. The wait was longer than I expected, I wanted to take off but I had already paid. The gordita I ate was super greasy, I’ve had way better. When I returned home, my stomach began to hurt a lot. I ordered tacos to eat at home and a torta carnívora for my husband. I travel to Mexico often, never get stomach aches with the food there. I really wanted to love this place and was hoping to drop by this place more often, unfortunately, my hunt for great Mexican food continues. Oh the cashier was very nice.

Heard about this place from two coworkers who swore the tortas at Los Chilangos were the BEST EVER. Didn’t believe them, held off for months – then, when my carb craving came through, I decided to hop across the street to the hole-​in-​the-​wall establishment promising «100% D.F.» and the best tortas in town.
Needless to say, I was impressed. Actually, I was genuinely floored.
The place, while hole-​y for sure, is clean, and the folks there seem to be hardworking, calm and dedicated. The actual torta was huge (it was literally the length of the styrofoam takeout container), with five kinds of meat atop of beans, cheese, lettuce, sour cream and mayo. The bread was crisp and soft, thick enough to hold the contents, but thin enough to allow the flavors to marry themselves in your mouth. My whole body did a dance.
For a torta, $ 9.95 ain’t cheap. For a five-​meat giant promising hours of satiety? A steal. Now I want to try all of the different tortas they offer (it’s their specialty), and the cleanliness of the place makes me curious to try the rest of the food. I’m coming back, no doubt about it.

As much as I love their menu and how delicious everything is. That wait time is sooooo long. My family members and I have gone each at separate times and they wait just as long. The tortas are so good! I had a Chilango style torta and it was fingerlickin’ good!

Hands down the best hole in the wall restaurant. My husband and I enjoy coming here for lunch. The Alambre that I usually get is so delicious I recommend you all try it with the spicy chipotle sauce and freshly made tortillas a mano. Puedo decir que me agrada mucho Chilangos la comida es buena, las personas son amables pero se debe cuidar mucho que la que cocine sea la Señora por la limpieza, pues fui un día cuando ella no estaba y simplemente la comida me enfermo mucho, lo malo es que ese día lleve personas invitadas al lugar por la comida mexicana, fue horrible todos nos enfermamos como nunca.
Decidí darle una segunda oportunidad al lugar y fui meses después en la noche y la Señora estaba cocinando y de nuevo cero problemas, no me enferme así que es simple, el problema mayor fue la higiene de quien cocino los alimentos aquel día.
Así que recomiendo el lugar pero por las tardes y siempre y cuando la que cocine sea la señora, pues ella cuida más de los alimentos, su higiene y preparación.

This place deserves a good 3.5 stars but since I’ve been there two times and the big guy is always friendly that makes me bump it up to 4 stars the food is good but not great. Ive had the torta carnivora it was huge but lacked in taste a bit, next time around had the enchiladas suisas and those were pretty good but my beans were cold.
Not to hate but I’ve been to Mexico City hence the name (Chilangos) and have had some bomass food there but I can’t say the same for Los Chilangos I mean it’s good and they have unique menu’s and I like the fresh ingredients they use but the wait times could be very long if you’re in a hurry. The big guy did recommend for us to order by phone either if it’s to go or even to dine in which next time I will do. After all this I recommend this place because its better than your average joe blow mexican joint.

I’ve passed by here countless times and never even noticed the sign. Los Chilangos is a small place with some great antojitos. I’ve had it bookmarked to try for quite a while and am sorry it took me so long to give it a try.
Antojitos 100% D.F. («little cravings from Mexico City») may not be the best way to describe some of the food here because the torta I had was hardly little, it was gigantic!
They offer a wide variety of foods. Starting with breakfast with a small variety of Mexican favorites like a Breakfast burrito, Ranchero, Chilaquiles, Carnitas n eggs and even a «you call it» omelet. The menu is loaded with choices from the Deluxe Burritos, Gorditas, Quesadillas, Pambazo, Tacos, Alambre, Hurraches, Sopes, Tlacoyos, Pozole, Menudo, Taquitos, Seafood dishes and the massive Super Tortas, dinner combos and more!

Tacos … 1 pollo and 2 asada
Torta Chilanga … Breaded steak, egg, ham, sausage, pork, head cheese, and turkey ham, lettuce, tomato, cojita cheese, and beans on a giant bollilo roll.
FOOD TASTE:
Chips n salsa … the chips were fresh and the red salsa here is not for the weak! It has a nice bite! May not look it
but its hot. They also have green salsa that’s very mild.
Tacos … Pollo was very nicely seasoned but the meat was dry 3***Stars
The asada was also well seasoned but dry. The thick tortillas were doubled up and twice as much as needed. 2.5**Stars
Torta … this was one of the best tortas I have ever eaten! Loaded with so much good stuff that each bite was a different combination of goodness for your tongue. This sucker was big enough o feed two
5*****Stars
They also have milk shakes, fruit waters and juices made from 100% natural stuff.
The place is pretty clean and the dude working the counter spoke English and was very polite. Pretty good stuff here at a very nice price. But be sure you are not in a hurry when you go here. This is a one cook, make to order, fresh deal. It’s defiantly worth the wait. 4****Stars
