I enjoyed it here would defiantly go back. Green tea ice cream was delicious as well.

Sushi is like a fine wine… in that I don’t know what constitutes good sushi. I liked it. It’s not the nicest location ever, but it’s got an okay atmosphere and the service is really good. And it is dangerous for me to come here. Let me back up a bit. Came here for dinner with the wife. The place wasn’t packed but there was a rather large group there(obnoxious group of early year college students, but not enough to scare us off). We were seated and given menus. This is where things could have gone horribly wrong for me. You see, they offer a «build your own sushi roll» option. I did not take that route, and instead opted for a bento box… but it’s tempting, you know? I’m tempted to make the perfect roll, but then I also have no experience with making sushi and could have very easily made something super gross. It is a gift, and a curse it seems. But I can’t really review theoretical food. So here goes. Teriyaki chicken and beef were both good. Standard, but good. My wife really enjoyed the beef because it is a brisket cut like you’d find at KBBQ spots. Everything else in the bento box was standard, salad and rice were fine. California roll and crunch roll were enough to let me know the rolls here are also good, but not anything amazing. Miso soup was good. I don’t know what else to say. It’s serviceable and I could see myself coming back, but it’s not enough to clamor for. The service is really what bumped it to 4 stars for me.

Had to check out the place after reading reviews, and was very impressed. Generous portion of visually appealing chirashi and sashimi that just melts in your mouth. Definitely will become a regular.

OMG. The sushi chef looked down when we walked in. No welcome. I noticed all the sushi was in freeze dried packs. Nothing fresh about that. When asked what we would like to drink. I said sake and she replied oh this is our most popular. I asked her what was the name, and she replied«junmai». Another OMG. bring me the bottle please. It was Kikusui. Tried two rolls and they both tasted the same. If you want real sushi go to Japan town or even some places in South OC. We left with the worst after taste ever.

We have been going to Sushi Dake for over 6 years. We absolutely love it here. We have gotten very close with the family that owes it and look forward to seeing them and hearing how the boys are doing as they do their service in Korea. Gloria is an absolute doll, we miss John and wish him well and hope he will be home soon. Sushi is always fresh and delicious. Cant say enough about this small hidden gem.

Went in last night to get take out. Arrived around 11:30pm(I was very surprised they were still open). They were quite busy especially for that time of night. I quickly ordered and they told me it would be just a minute. I preceded to wait 35 minutes before asking the waitress where my food was. She claimed they were currently making it. I had ordered a Sashimi and sushi plate; this doesn’t require any cooking and preparation time shouldn’t be long. I then overheard two more people come in and be told that they had run out of fish. The people left. At this point I assume my meal will not get made. After 10 more minutes I finally got my food. Fish was subpar and left me feeling sort of sick. It was also quite expensive. 4 pieces of sashimi and 9 pieces of sushi was $ 23.99. Overall this was a very poor experience. I have them 2 stars because they seemed to be working very hard however the experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth(literally). –expensive –not great food –extremely long wait

This was a cute sushi place with a decent selection of sushi plus more(tempura, teriyaki beef and chicken, etc). The sushi was fresh and they had a large menu of the standard rolls and also specialty rolls. There was nothing wrong with any of the food but it wasn’t my taste. Some of the flavors of the specialty rolls were not meshing for me. That’s the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 but I encourage you to go and form your own opinion. I ordered 4 rolls: *The pink lady roll– this one I liked because I like cream cheese and tempura shrimp anything *the fried lobster roll-I didn’t really like the fried lobster so next time I’d opt for the baked lobster. The roll part was mostly crab *the spider roll-I don’t usually get this roll so I can’t compare this to others. I just know I didn’t like this one as much *The Dake roll-this didn’t taste like anything to me but it was large They had a good selection of Asian beers(including light beers), sake and plum wine which my friend had and that was delicious. I got the big Kirin Ichiban which is a great Japanese beer you should try. The staff was very very nice, especially our waitress. It wasn’t busy when I went(Thursday around 715), plenty of parking and wifi available either by this establishment or a neighboring one. Come see for yourself at least for the good service and convenience.

Ordered about 5 rolls and sashimi for togo. Specifically asked for extra eel sauce and spicy mayo… None in the bag when I get home. Rolls arent even great to be making up for that…

Standard sushi in the area! Came here to order my sushi rolls TO-GO, and I have to say i wasn’t wowed. Sushi Dake would suffice as a convenient nearby joint to grab rolls but i wouldn’t go out of my way for it lot’s of special rolls categorized as fried or fresh. a bit pricey for what you get though –fresh yellow tail roll: not bad –salmon sushi: just okay the place is pretty small but wasn’t packed on a weeknight

Togo only Was craving a baked roll. Either a baked scallop or lobster roll. Reading reviews they said the lobster roll was delicious so I ordered that Togo. called at 9:30pm and ordered a lobster roll(10.99) . The lady said it would take about 15 – 20 minutes. I get there at 9:45pm! It was a full house with two servers and two sushi chefs. I was waiting in the front for about 10−15minutes… no one came up to me. I went up to the server and asked if my Togo was ready… he said the chefs were making it… waiting waiting waiting… at 10:20pm, it was finally ready… that’s almost an hour later! I get that it’s busy… but over the phone when someone orders Togo… u should warn them ahead of time saying it’ll take an hour! Not no 15 – 20 minutes. Came home to eat it… no wasabi or ginger…-_– the roll tasted like mayo… I’m sad I didn’t have a good experience… I book marked this place for awhile and always wanted to try this place out since it’s open til midnight AND I live somewhat close. Maybe next time sushi dake… u are one of the only sushi restaurants that’s open til midnight… sigh

My favorite sushi place. Ever. The chefs and waitresses know me. You feel like royalty when you’re in here almost! Excellent service, excellent sushi! They have the best baked salmon in OC. Actually all of their rolls are the best! I always refer my friends to this sushi place.

Okay, this place is pretty darn amazing to be able to get 5 stars with ok to good service. Food– These are the largest, freshest, tastiest sushi rolls I have ever had. The avocado roll had A LOT of avocado in it which was pretty amazing. The caterpillar roll had a very large portion of avocado on it as well and it was very tasty. The rainbow roll was very free. Vegas roll had lots of cream cheese and fish. Overall food is a 6⁄5 because it is way better than most places I have had it from. Service– Service is decent. We came in towards closing on a Saturday night and this young girl was very nice and generous to us. However one of the other people that worked there, a male with a layered type of haircut with a tale, was very rude. I understand that the store is closing and you are waiting to take our order, but standing there and constantly asking us if we are ready does not help, in fact it just makes us annoyed. Service sucked but the only reason they get five stars is because the food is SUPERAMAZING. Price– It is a bit expensive, but compared to other places it really is pretty inexpensive for the amount of sushi and quality you get. Because of how I was treated with the service, it made me VERY disappointed. I was ready to just give them a bad review because typically bad service will make the food bad no matter how good it is, but the food was way too amazing for me to give them anything less than five stars.

Yet another great Sushi place discovered. I’ve been told I need to come here for a while now and never got around to it. The place is little but really cute and cozy, I love it. Especially with how they have it decorated right now for Christmas. I just want to come here on rainy days, sit in the back with a couple rolls(don’t judge me and my addiction to sushi) and enjoy an evening with my husband or a friend. The only thing I was not the most keen on was their version of Salmon(Sake) they serve theirs salmon over Daikon(white radish) I was not a fan of how cold, crunchy, and annoying it was to eat. I did however like that I got lemon wedges to squeeze over my salmon… that was a nice touch. Of the 3 rolls we had, the baked lobster was my favorite. I cant wait to come back… soon I hope, haha!

My brother & I was craving sushi, but all other places closed around 9pm or 10pm. Sushi Dake is open until midnight, so we decided to give it a try. Their miso soup & edamame is complimentary, & really good! They were both seasoned well. Their spicy tuna roll was pretty good, with a good rice to fish ratio, & actually had a good spice kick. Their philly roll is really good, the only down side is there was more cream cheese than fish. They’re udon with beef was so good! The only thing we got that I wasn’t a fan of is the dragon roll, but that’s probably just because I’m not a huge fan of crab meat. They gave us a complimentary dessert of strawberries with whipped cream. Yum! So simple, but the strawberries were sweet. Overall, I’ll be back to try out other food items, all fairly priced, & because they have great customer service! Super friendly staff!

To start off, the edamame is bomb. It does come out lightly dressed in soy sauce but it was the perfect amount for my liking. Best miso soup I’ve had. My boyfriend ordered the Baked Lobster roll and it gave him life. I ordered a California roll with less crab meat and more cucumber. I’m glad that wasn’t a problem! but I don’t really see why it would be lol. We also shared a chicken teriyaki bowl and that was super good. YASSUSHIDAKESLAYYY. Finally, the customer service was A+ and they’re open later than most places! Two big pluses.
