This place is too cool. Reverts you back to the days of prohibition. Hidden doors, sectret entrances and spirited cocktails. Ambiance is low lit, warm, think Edgar Allan Poe like. Mixologists are happy to help you find the perfect cocktail and presentation is everything from their food to drinks. Caleb and Tuyen are extremely talented at what they do. They explained each drink as they prepared it right in front of us. If your over the standard trendy bar scene try this place… TBR won’t lead you down a bad hole.

Since moving to Anaheim it had always been a goal to come drink and dine at the blind rabbit. Once we arrived at our 715pm reservation we were immediately seated at the bar. That was a little surprising because my partner and I initially thought we would be sat a table. Regardless, we were greeted by linette the bartender. She was fantastic! She promptly brought our drinks and explained the menu thoroughly. My partner ordered the 3 hour tour and he enjoyed it. It was light and refreshing not too sweet. It was very balanced. I had a bottle of Malbec which was not too dry but on point enjoyed it very much! I can’t believe they have a Tempranillo! Please order it before they take it off the menu. It is extremely light with bold flavors! For appetizer we had the bone marrow and coconut shrimp. The marrow was fairly scarce I portion but bold in flavor. It melted in your mouth. The coconut shrimp was a little underwhelming, where it’s not memorable. The rabbit pouting was bomb!!! I loved it! The gravy was great and tasty and a generous protein portion. Overall, I had an amazing date night and most of all I recommend to everyone to try it out. All their rules are pretty self explanatory, so do the restaurant a favor and adhere to it!

We all need breaks and sometimes that break involves a random day trip to California, spontaneously going to the Anaheim Packing District and then by chance see someone disappear into a wall of sake barrels, you grow curious and follow. Eyes wide you find yourself in a «secret» speakeasy with classic dim lighting and vintage décor welcomed by a staff of neatly dressed individuals ready to craft a drink suited to your needs. Whether you order one of their reasonably priced cocktails, wine, beer, or something from Rob’s little book of recipes like a flaming Mai Tai you definitely feel the enthusiasm to serve you each drink. Accompanied your drink is humor and knowledge bombs by the bartender, who contrary to popular belief, thinks Patron sucks. If you aren’t much of a talker you could always search for the hidden rabbits around the bar, or just kick back and relax, absorbing the easy going environment. Seems like you’re in another world and question whether or not you were really at The Blind Rabbit when you exit through the bookshelves and find yourself back in the busy busting Anaheim Packing District. Hard to find another way to spend a great afternoon.

This place is SOCUTE! It was fun taking my boyfriend here and asking him to find the door to this«secret» place. It is quite small and a little cluster phobic-y but its a great place to have a drink. The interior reminded us of «Peaky Blinders» very old and vintage 1920’s vibe. Feels like a secret speakeasy that is hidden during the prohibition era. I had the Space Dust IPA Beer($ 8) — GREAT. Nice bitter IPA taste. Everything I would want in a IPA. Highly recommend this item. My boyfriend had the Golden Gate Gose Beer($ 13) — Hmm… We both didn’t really like this one. It was very citrus-y and almost like sour??? If your not really into beer taste and want something light I guess you could go with this? But honestly I didn’t like it ATALL. I could tell my boyfriend wasn’t enjoying drinking it either. It tasted like a fizzy wine more than beer. Make sure you’re not in a lot of layers, or you’re wearing an outer layer that you can take off because it gets really hot in there. It is also very dim lit and ITCLOSES walk-in’s at 5PM and they only take reservations after that time.

A little Gastro-Pub exploration on a Saturday night It all started when I received a message that KCRW was going to be at the Anaheim Packing House. I had read an article not to long ago about the Packing House and wondered how did it compare to Claremont(no comparison) AMAZING layout and they have every culinary offering you could wish for… actually it sorta reminds me of Faneuil Hall in Boston(but on a smaller scale) Be sure to check out the ‘rules’ page first before dining just so you don’t get offended when the host/hostess ‘starts schooling you in’. Dark interiors, small-cozy atmosphere, music I think it was bluesy(prohibition era) if you don’t have a reservation you more than likely will not be gettin in oh yea and they don’t have a phone either. Don’t forget you can only stay for 90 minutes so if you like to ‘camp’ out this is not the place for you. The Duck Confit Macaroni & Cheese with Truffle sauce… GOOOOODDDLAAAWWWWRDD thank you baby JESUS was fantastic! then we had the Sherry Vinaigrette Salad with Goat Cheese, Macadamia Nuts and Watermelon Radish tasty light and delicious. Drinks were ok the Mule I had was quite refreshing they only have 2 items on the menu for dessert so don’t get your hopes up. Respectfully Reviewed

This has been a horrible experience to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Unfortunately, I was not told that there was a dress code and although I had collared shirt on, I accidentally had black shorts on. Which is fine because I was not aware of the rules and that was my fault. My girlfriend and her friend went into the bar as I talked to the woman in front. I was told that if I went home and put on jeans that I would be able to get in. So I spent 20 min to drive home, then I put on a pair of jeans, and then drove another 20 min. When I came back, I was told that I would be not allowed in because they reached capacity. I became frustrated immediately. The reason I am frustrated is why did she not bother to mention this when I left to the house. But I tried to keep a cool head and see if we could make this work. My girlfriend even talked to people next to her in the bar to see if there was room. There was a seat next to her and the people that were there said that seat was open and not being taken. We tried to talk to the woman in front about it because there was available seat. She said the people reserved all three seats. Which didn’t make sense because there was only two people there and the people there said the seat was open. She then decided to call security over. I didn’t want to cause an issue because although this was a horrible experience I didn’t want to get in an argument. As we left, the security guard and her started talking and laughing as they looked at as. Overall I don’t think I’ll come back because the horrible customer service. Which is unfortunate because I heard the bar is great. And I’m really sad that I didn’t get to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday with her.

Wow! These douchebags decided to give themselves a $ 10 tip on my credit card. I clearly wrote«CASH» on the tip line and gave cash as a tip. I didn’t get that sh*t faced nor am I that stupid to know what I did or didn’t do. Just a reason why I keep my receipts because of shady a$$ places like this. As the Beibs would say, «too late to say sorry» because I’ve already placed a dispute through Chase. Moral of the story, keep your receipts! Update 6÷9÷16: Thanks for the reminder, Robert. Yes, I am aware it’s been over a month. I am a student and work and haven’t had the time to return my dispute. I’ll be faxing that in tomorrow. Fake account? I don’t have time for that. Recommend I post a picture? How about I recommend your bartenders to take it easy drinking on the job. maybe they wouldn’t have committed fraud.

I absolutely love this place! My husband and I were in town last weekend for a wedding. We decided to meet up with some friends beforehand to grab lunch and a drink. My girlfriend suggested this Anaheim Packing Company and when we got there, we were so pleasantly surprised at the place. We decided to grab lunch and eat then head down to this«speakeasy» that she mentioned. I’ve been to quite a few speakeasys around San Diego, and this one was by far one of my favorites– if not my favorite! It’s definitely hard to find– which makes it so great. Since speakeasys are becoming so popular, they tend to lose their appeal — not here! We stopped in on a Saturday around 1:30. We were able to get seated right away which was nice. It was definitely the perfect time to come. Our server, Robert, was so accommodating, helpful, and just an overall great addition to our experience. We all decided on different drinks: –Frank’s First Time –Tipsy Teetotaler –Tropical Fizz –Debbie Does Gibson My Tipsy Teetotaler was definitely the table favorite. We sipped, chatted and before we knew it– it was closing time. We didn’t feel rushed which was awesome, and Robert even sent us off with a round of shots. Luckily we’ll be the area more often, and will definitely be regulars of this joint. Cheers!

A magical gem hidden away inside the packing house(Literally hidden behind some sake barrels on the first floor). Your best bet is to make reservations or come for opening(5pm I believe) on a weekday, since seating is extremely limited. Be aware that there is a max limit of an hour and a half per seat. After that I think you would have to leave and try to go back to the entrance and see if they have any seats available. The ambiance here is absolutely magical. I really felt like stepping into this bar was like stepping into a time machine. It’s really got that 1920’s/1930’s feel; dim lights, the perfect blues soundtrack, beautiful décor, beautiful cocktail glasses. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The bartender knew his liquors perfectly and had great stories to tell. The cocktails were perfection. I have no idea what any of them were called, but I explained what I liked and he cooked me up the perfect cocktail, complete with a foamy heart on top. He also cooked up a smoked liquor and the firey cocktail for my friends. We ordered the coconut shrimp, and the lamb tips. Both amazing bites. I am so in love with this bar and can’t wait to go back :)

My wife and I recently ate at The Blind Rabbit and thought it was a fun and different experience. It has a very exclusive feel, with the secret entrance, house rules, small intimate space and very low lighting. We enjoyed the experience of getting dressed up for a special night on the town! It was also nice that they asked if we preferred to sit at a table or the bar, so we chose a table hoping it might be more intimate. Although intimate it was, it wasn’t really a «table» at all. Instead it seemed more like a small/low packing crate(maybe to tie in with the Packing House?) that was placed between two high-backed velvet chairs. While this at first seemed nice a cozy, we soon realized the downfall was that anytime you wanted to take a sip of your cocktail or eat some of the great food you have to scoot forward in your chair and hunch forward. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but we both had aching backs once we left and started walking around the Packing House. It’s worth noting that they do have a couple normal tables too, we just happened to be seated at an alternative version. I saw another recent Unilocal review mention that it was too warm inside, and that was also a similar case with us. I know from the response that they are working on fixing the A/C, so my guess this is still a work in progress. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! Overall I really like the attention to detail and quality that this place was able to achieve, and in such a tiny layout too! It was also fun to watch the reactions(jealously?) of other patrons as the secret entrance wall swings open and you are swiftly taken inside before people can peek in. It was also fun to see the confused looks when you exit out of the secret bookcase along the wall :) Looking forward to returning in the future!

A hidden place if you did not know about this place. You can totally walk by this place at the packing district without knowing it exist at all. The ambiance is great, the drinks are soft and the host sucked. We’ve been requested to be «on time» by their strict code, but when we got there, we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to get seated. The host even argued with me that it was 17 minutes pass not 20… what kind of lame excuse is that. But, blind rabbit surely knows how to kick us out of our seat on time. At 90 minutes in, my friend just wanted one more drink while we all just got our 2nd drink… NOPE… can’t do it… You can kick us out on time, but can’t get us seated on time. Drink wise… well a lot of good cocktails drinks that are super sweet. I personally was expecting stiffer drinks. If you like your drinks on the stronger side, I would high recommend you to start with a old fashion. The old fashion is actually a pretty good drink(puzzle bar better), but I still wish its still stronger. Overall, I think blind rabbit needs know how to talk the talk and walk the walk, i.e. follow its own rule. The host at the front also needs to better at checking-in people rather than ignoring + taking 10 minutes(oh, sorry I rounded up, 8 minutes) to check-in each guest; even guest without reservation. We had reservation and the party in front of us doesn’t, AND all I got was NOTHING but attitudes while checking in. I have another reservation in 2 weeks cause another group of my friends wanna give this«pretend to be» fancy place a try; however, I’m iffy on it. The host was so terrible that it started the night completely on the wrong foot! Tip: Don’t even bother giving it a try if you have no reservation. Go to ECCO, it has better price drinks + better service. Additionally, they have the«reservation only» policy and a strict timing policy(which it doesn’t follow itself).

Small speakeasy in the Anaheim packing house. Easily my favorite place in the whole house. Love the whole idea of a hidden door with the handle being a rabbit, hence the name. Inside you will find an old times genre bar with cleanly dressed mustachioed gentlemen who serve up excellent cocktails that range from having egg whites in them to smoking their glass ware and putting on a good show. This is one of those bars where the bartenders take pride in what they do and treat their craft as an art. Other than being stuffy and cozy, one of my favorite bars ever.

I’m a regular at Anaheim packing district but only finally went here on Cinco de mayo. Such a cool spot! I love speak easy places and this is the true definition of that… hidden entrance and exit. It’s small, dark and intimate inside. The drinks are amazing!!! I highly recommend getting a specialty cocktail here. It is pricey but is worth it. We only ordered the rabbit gravy poutine which was so goood! You can take pictures but no use of flash. The décor is very appropriate and definitely transforms you to the 20s Era. There was a live pianist playing and singing songs from the 20s on Cinco de mayo. He was so good; his voice was soft and soothing. It was so peaceful… it was my first time listening to music from the 20s and it gave me the feelings of actually being there in the 20s. I will definitely come back. Reservations are recommended! I can see why there is a 1.5 hrs limit; this place is super tiny!

We stumbled upon this place totally by accident. In the area & Unilocaling for a good place to eat, I remembered I had been to the Anaheim Packing District literally days ago, but could not remember this place. So we went looking for it… and I realized why I hadn’t seen it. Even though I had been sitting on the swinging benches mere feet away! It’s totally hidden! The door is covered & camouflaged, & right next to the hot pot bar. When the place is closed at lunchtime(the last time I was there), there’s nobody out front. But at 5pm daily, when they open, a friendly face is at the podium outside that hidden door. Since the place seats a max of 35 people, they say reservations are filled for a couple weeks in advance. And there’s a max time of 90 minutes that your party is allowed to stay. But today(a Saturday), we happened to arrive right around opening time & they said that we could sit at the bar(a great seat, imo, as you get full view of the mixologists) for 45 minutes. We ended up staying longer than that because we kept waiting for them to tell us our time had come(to go, haha). They just kept serving us, so we stayed. And loved everything: Seared Salmon w/couscous Burger with fries Banana Cream Pie I sooo rarely drink, but I had the Tipsy Teetotaler, which is topped with a vanilla-y, velvety whipped eggwhite, and was lightly sweet & delicious. It’s a darkish interior & as you enter, they explicitly state no flash photos(along with some other rules, & what the camouflaged exit door looks like). So, no food pics. But! I’d happily re-order any of the above. And would come back to try these things that we saw go by too: Bone Marrow Duck Confit Mac & Cheese Kahlua Pork Sliders Country Fried Lamb Chops Rabbit Gravy Poutine They close at midnight every night. The mixologists & server were all super friendly, & the atmosphere was happy and warm. Definitely a cool surprise of a place to be, & the food is all worth trying!

My favorite Speakeasy!!! It is located inside the Anaheim Packing district. The entrance is next to the Japanese place and when you enter it is really dark and small. I like that it is very intimate. The place can get really packed at night but my friends and I went around 2 pm and it wasn’t too bad. I suggest making reservations when you go at night. Their bartenders are amazing and know how to make drinks! They are a bit pricey but well worth a good drink. If you don’t want to order from their drink menu you can always tell the bartender what you normally drink and he can make something that he knows you will like. Also, their food is pretty good. I suggest trying their duck confit mac and cheese. Its on the small size but I suggest sharing with friends so you can try their other food items.

What an absolute gem. My wife suggested this place to me. That is actually news in itself since she calls me, «mr. Unilocal». I’m usually the one who tells her about all of the new places, raves about some insanely delicious business lunch and forces her to try bibimbap when all she wants is a burger and a beer. I checked out the reviews for The Blind Rabbit and discovered this newly renovated warehouse called the Anaheim Packing District. Purposely hidden behind a «secret» entrance, there are no signs. Just a podium with a gal with a display screen asking if you have a reservation. The place is so small and so popular, reservations are almost mandatory. They limit you to 90 minutes of cocktails and dining, so no loitering. Get in, imbibe, I jest and, kindly, get the f out. This speakeasy is so adorable, so unique, that you put up with the ridiculousness of the rules. Think of it like The Playground’s private 2.0 next door. After a while, they opened it up to everyone when the first year of popularity started to die down. The best part, if you are still hungry or just want dessert later, simply leave and take 3 steps and you are in a gastronomic heaven and don’t have to feel like you wasted your time, money and energy on finding a nice parking spot. The interior is a lot smaller than I imagined. Maybe 30 chairs, including the bar. Very dark and decorated like an old speakeasy, including the garb of the employees. The owner, Robert, was mixing the classic cocktails behind the bar and came out to greet us and give us some history of his place and the building. Service was very good. Our server was very helpful with the menu and made some great suggestions. Inventive cocktails, a great house beer selection and a very inventive but simple menu of food options. We kept it to heavy appetizers and figured we would actually have dinner later. The duck confit mac n cheese was spectacular. We had some kind of chorizo and mushroom dip that was equally good. The popularity of Brussels sprouts still amazes me and this place did them up proud. I’m almost bored with the awesomeness of these veggies now, but not quite. I’m not a bone marrow fan but the others in my group enjoyed it greatly. We ate so much we were only able to grab some gelato later. 90 minutes is enough time to do what we needed to do, but I can see hanging out longer in the future. I wish the air was not as stuffy as it was and we needed flashlights to read the menu but that just makes me feel old. The only slight downsides to an otherwise fabulous culinary adventure.

If you are searching for the best bar with the best atmosphere, look no further than here… If you can find it. :) First I want to compliment Andrew, one of the bartenders, for making my group such splendid drinks!!! With 18 years of Bartending experience, no wonder this joint probably hired him on the spot! We asked for his specials and he gave us his very own creations. One was«Island in the Heavens» which was absolutely mind blowing, and another«Old Man and the Sea» which was the best blended whiskey I have ever had so far. Try them if you can! It’s located in the packing house on the lower floor. You will find a wall of Japanese sake barrels with a little rabbit statue in the middle of it. Pull it, and you will be blinded by the darkness that awaits you. It is designed to be like the hidden bars in the prohibition era. The atmosphere is one of the best of any bar or pub I have ever been to. If you are in or near Anaheim at any point in time, VISITTHISPLACE!!! You will be very intrigued and amazed at how different and cool this bar is. 3 thumbs up!!!

The Blind Rabbit is located on the 1st floor of the Anaheim packing district, which is always a complete zoo of people. I’ll address that first if you haven’t been to the Packing District before. The chances of finding a parking spot anywhere near the packing district is extremely slim, so just plan to valet your car for $ 3.00. Whoever designed this parking lot with maybe 40 spaces to accommodate a constant customer base of 1000+, clearly wasn’t thinking. The Blind Rabbit is the most«authentic«speak-easies I’ve ever been to. It’s literally hidden behind a fake wall of barrels. A door opens up to the main room which is about the size of a big living room. It’s a very very small place but that adds to the character of the speak easy. It’s extremely dim inside with a live piano player playing and singing under dim edison style bulbs. It’s shoulder to shoulder sitting with a very boisterous vibe. The bartenders/waiters are dressed to the era as well. The Cocktails on the right side of the menu are stirred and much stronger than the shaken ones on the left. All of the cocktails we had were incredible. We ordered the duck mac n cheese, the burger, and the beef shank. The beef shank was tender, flavorful, and went well with the perfectly prepared mash potatoes it sat on. This dish stood out as the winner. Overall it was a really great experience if you want to be taken back in time and really feel what a speak easy during the prohibition era might have felt like, this is the place to go.

In my most recent trip to California, I was so stoked to read about the Blind Rabbit. A hidden bar, with awesome drinks, amazing food, a photobooth, AND they take reservations? Could it get any better? I knew it was somewhere I wanted to check out and I was soooo happy we did! I made reservations online, and on the day of, I arrived at the Anaheim Packing House early, had a grilled cheese sandwich appetizer upstairs(seriously, Anaheim Packing House… such good stuff there), then went to check in at the bar. The girl who checked us in was great and showed us to our loveseat, which was made from a cut cast iron tub, and located right next to the live piano player playing and singing prohibition era songs. Sweet! There’s not a lot of light in there, and they are pretty opposed to flash photos, so just put the camera down and enjoy the evening! I did bartender’s choice for all 3 drinks that night since I rarely drink hards/cocktails(I’m a beer gal) and every single one was better than the last. Sunshine in the Dark ftw :) All the food items were good, like really really good, as well. The burger was huge and perfectly done, duck confit mac and cheese was rich and delicious, and the stuffing skillet… oh my that was my favoriteee! Overall, the vibe here is just excellent. Really stellar service. Really great drink and food. Really cool theme and interior. Can’t wait for my next trip. :)

Made a brief visit with my brother just to get a feel of the place and for the small amount of time we spent in here, I liked it. Just grabbed a couple of drinks that were pretty good. The Drunk Night In Thailand had a spicy kick to it with an orange flavor. I also like the theme of the bar… its a little small space that reminds me of something that would be in an Indiana Jones film. The bartenders were cool too answering all of our questions about drinks that we’ve seen that currently were not on the menu at the time. This was a quick visit but it was enough to peak my curiosity for more… such as more drinks and the food. I will be paying another visit but a more planned visit next time around with more people as this was a last minute decision. We lucked up with getting in LOL. Drinks 1÷3÷2016
