The OC Dugout

I am a high advocate of small business because they typically establish excellent long-​term relationships with their Customers however this place does not consist of this quality whatsoever. I had asked on the company’s facebook page when they were to have a private autograph signing by Mike Trout since their webpage listed 3 different dates. I was about to bring my item to OC Dugout for them to ship it to be signed when I noticed they had changed the date on the Facebook page so I called them to confirm since the webpage still listed 3 different dates. The Owner Brian answered and provided every excuse in the book from stating his web developers were «deadbeats» to stating their Facebook page was not always accurate. He then asked for my email address since he stated being on their mailing list was the most accurate way for OC Dugout to communicate changes to their Customers. I was very unhappy with the way Brian handled the situation as he first tried to make many excuses and even attempted to make the situation my fault by inquiring exactly when I had confirmed the initial autograph signing date on Facebook. I called him back later in the day and asked if there was anything he could do and his only solution was to have me pay shipping costs to send out the item. You would think any good service provider would accept that they were at fault for this clear lack of communication and try to satisfy their Customer by suggesting a substitute like paying the shipping charges but instead it is the Customer that obtains the burden in the end. I ended up not taking my item to OC Dugout because I feared they may lose my item on purpose.

Very unprofessional. They tried to low ball me on my collection of angels autographs. The owner is very unprofessional and shady not to mention a big waste of time. Be careful with these guys

Stopped by to pick up in time that they got signed for me. Employee was nice and give me kids some free stickers which made their day.

Not the best prices, not the best selection, but compared to most stores this place has plenty of boxes and junk that would get anyone excited. The thing that bothered me was the stupid store hours they have, which is why I’m glad to be able to look them up online but it’s few and far between when it works with my schedule. Some days they’re not even open, which doesn’t even make much sense.
I personally like purchasing boxes of cards from a store, it’s a much lesser damage risk than having to buy them online from someone who already had it shipped to them before. It’s just how I view it, the less it’s shipped around the less likely you’re going to receive something that got banged up upon delivery. Which is why I hate the business hours here.
I don’t even care if the workers are rude, long as they sell me a product that I really want I don’t care what they think of me. I just want a quality product that’s in perfect shape, something I can physically purchase in person for a fair price is good in my book. This place has a ton of crap that I think is great, otherwise I can buy stuff online.
To those who complain about the prices of the boxes, unless you’re getting free shipping online you’re not really spending a ton of money here. It’s the convenience you’re paying for, this place buys them by the case and can sell them for what people are willing to pay for. You can also buy protectors for your cards here, most places I buy boxes from overcharge for sleeves, top loaders, screw downs or the magnetic cases unless I purchase them in bulk.
It’s a business, they have to pay the bills to keep the store running. Like I mentioned before, they don’t have the best prices or selection, but they have stuff I want to buy and am willing to pay a little more to get the products that I want. Some may find the prices unfair, but it’s your option not to pay for it.
We don’t have our parents holding our hands walking into the store, we’re all big enough to make our own decisions. It’s a nice location, they don’t have a record of ripping people off with counterfeits, if they say they’re selling the real deal you know it’s true. Things could be handled better, the workers and owner may upset some people, but the fact is their store hours suck.

Alot of people have mixed reviews about this place and for a long time I was one of them.
I’m honestly not a big sports collector but I’m a big mike trout fan and as his career began to take off so did his autograph prices. For a while I was upset about his autograph price jump but ultimately I paid because I knew his price would only keep jumping.
I can’t really blame the shop for the prices because ultimately it’s a bussiness that supplies a service and you do not have to buy. Sure the owner may say something you don’t agree with on Facebook or even block you from commenting on the store page, but ultimately you don’t have to buy and no one is making you. These people aren’t here to be your friend they’re here to provide a service If you are willing to pay.
Plus when your the only game in town that offers the players you want it’s hard to complain about that bussiness while at the same time your giving them your cash.
Will I give this place my money again? More than likely. Because it is what is it folks plain and simple.

Poor selection, poor customer service, poor event management and poor ownership. Subpar all around. The owner had a customer upset at him because he wasn’t paying any attention to her. She gave him a hard time for it and he blew her out. He then decided it appropriate to post the customer’s personal information (her name, phone number and a few obscene adjectives) on his Facebook page. This is a horrible way to do business and it reflects the character of the business and ownership in terrible fashion. There are places in OC that provide 10x better service, selection and events with bigger signings. I told the owner he should calm down and take that poor woman’s information off his FB without being offensive and he decided to block me. Way to treat a customer huh?

DO NOT do send in signings. They lost my jersey! I asked for a refund and they said they would not pay for my jersey the lost. So I had to take what ever knock off they sent me. I had a hardwood classics and they lost it. HORRIBLE customer service. They do not return calls. DO NOT Do business with them!

Location:
Located in Hobby City across from the Junk Yard. They recently moved over next door to a larger facility. It even has a 2^nd floor. However when I was there they were still moving things from the old store over.
Prices:
Prices Online for their boxes/​cases compare to in store is slightly different.
More Expensive in-​store.
Compared to other online retailers they stack up pretty well in pricing. However that California tax is a killer
New Products:
When a new product comes out for football/​baseball/​basketball etc… they usually will have it the day before street date or on street date majority of the time.
I usually drop by for a box or a few packs of the new product while waiting for my case or boxes from online to be delivered.
In House:
They have singles of current players/​retired. Lots of sports cards supplies.
Rewards Program:
They recently introduce a new loyalty program where when you get 20 stamps you’ll receive a Free Gift during their Customer Appreciation Day. Usually happens once a month I believe I can be wrong.
You’ll get a stamp for the following:
Buying a box of sports cards
Buying a framed autograph item
Buying a ticket to their autograph signings (The do have big names come by to sign)
Playing at least 5 rounds in their Pack wars
Purchase any of their Hidden Gems Products (Don’t know what this is)
Win one of their Live/​Silent Auctions
I’m Glad to have LCS (Local Card Store) Near by my place. Which can be a good thing but also puts a whole in my wallet!

Excellent service ans super friendly staff! The guys here are passionate and knowledgeable, which makes coming here for any reason a great experience. A great selection of both sports and movie memorabilia and it seems like theire’s an autograph signing there at least once a month. This is definitely my new home for collectibles.

Great place. Don’t believe the bad reviews. The staff here is really friendly and knows what they are talking about. They also get really great people for autograph sessions. The prices are good. I highly recommend oc dugout

I’m not sure about Frank W’s review, he sounds like a nig ol’ exagerating drama queen. This is pretty much the only place I will shop for cards. Not only are the owners and employees (totalling three for both categories total) friendly, but they are knowledgable and the most fair business owners I know. I’ve never been diappointed here. They have a large and varied selection, and ebau store and lots of very cool events like autograph sessions. Thanks to them I got to meet some amazing people.

Each time I go with my boyfriend, I’m still amazed by everything they have at their shop!
PROS:
+Not the biggest shop but still has everything you need!
+Very friendly, knowledgable staff.
+So far, I got autographs and took pictures with Trumbo, Bourjos, Santana, AND Tim Salmon! WHOOOOT. (They have other team signings but I’m an Angels fan!)
+AND their Facebook page has updates about signings and events you don’t want to miss!
+What keeps me coming is their service and the signings!

Best hobby shop around. Great owners and awesome merchandise. Everyone’s one stop shop for any sports thing they need. Great atmosphere and they host great signings! All fans welcome!

I love the Dugout. Been a customer since they first opened. The owners and employees are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the products in the store, and if you have trouble finding something on a short notice, they have no problem helping you to find that product. They give great advice when it comes to buying certain «fad» items, even if it means that they are going to lose out on the sale. They have a great thing called «Pack Wars» on the weekends, that is very fun for the whole family. Not to mention they have brought some great names in for autograph sessions and photo ops (Brooks Robinson, Reggie Jackson, and even Scott Schwartz from «A Christmas Story» (the one who got his tongue stuck on the pole). They even got Blake Griffin once (hated missing it, but he was there). I got nothing negative to say about the place at all

BEST HOBBY SHOP IN THE AREA!!!
This store has a great selection of collectibles. The main reason I go here are for the sports cards. The owners, Lance and Brian, are great they took the time to help me understand all about the hobby and got me hooked. They are extremely friendly and will do everything they can to help you out.
They also have sports collectibles that you can buy from posters, pictures, framed jerseys, bats, and more. And if you want to get your own items signed they do have a lot of stars come in to do in person signings, the ones in the past included Gary Payton, Wally Joyner, Dennis Rodman, Tim Salmon, Ervin Santana, and a lot of upandcomers like Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos, Garrett Richards, and a lot lot lot more.
To be honest this wasn’t the first hobby store I went to, the very first store I visited was a couple of blocks away on the same street, they were also friendly but did not put in the extra effort to help a new guy trying to collect some cards out. It seemed like he just wanted to take my money. But at OC DUGOUT they are genuine and it seems like I’ve known every one of there staff forever.

One of the best shops out there. They bring out a lot of people for Autographs from Wally Joyner to Gary Payton to even some Dodgers (I know this Angels town). But overall a great experience. Very reasonable on the autograph pricing and they usually have PSA/​DNA to authenticate as well.
Facebook page is very informative and is the best place to find out about these signings. They have another shop OCSportsCards in Anaheim Hills that puts on signings as well and they even bring in Disney stars.
