This mall offers a variety– department stores, tourist shops, and even some higher end retailers. I managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done here. It looks a little dingy on the outside, but it’s clean and open inside. I’m still getting used to the layout– I’ve never been to a mall with bridges connecting the center to other stores. The only downfall is that it is that while they have everything you need, they don’t quite have everything to please our«meaningless consumer-driven lives.»(To quote 10 Things I Hate About You. Holla.) It’s a little small with a limited selection of name brands. But there are TWO(count em– two!) Sephoras, which is more than enough to make this make up lover smile. :)

The Anchorage 5th Ave Mall has changed soo much over the years! The stores are deff getting better. Between 2005 and 2008 I worked at «LA Style and Retail», «Demo», «Bebe» and«Sullivan’s Steakhouse» so I have been around this mall a lot lol. Nordstrom is everlasting, I don’t think I’ve ever stepped foot in JC Penny’s(no offence if you like that store). The food court is mediocre and Sullivan’s used to be good, emphisis on «used». My favorite store now is the Oil and Vinegar Store, I could spend all day in there but I LOVE Italian food. The Hallmark is pretty huge, and there is a new winter clothing store that I forget the name of but it looks nice. Still Ive always preferred 5th Ave over the Dimond Mall. Dimond is just good if you want to go ice-skating or have a better lunch.

I like 5th Avenue Mall. It has everything you want: convenient, inexpensive parking; a good mix of shops; a food court with an eclectic mix of food; and a couple decent department stores as anchors. The one star off is for 1– a lack of adequate and accessible restrooms and 2– for letting Abercrombie pump GALLONS of its air clogging cologne into the air. I have to avoid the one whole end of the mall(all 3 floors) because of the migraine inducing stench It’s un-fing believable. I really don’t understand why the mall allows it. It literally chokes the air and could cause respiratory issues for asthmatics and folks with allergies.

Great mall, good choice of stores, food court and bathrooms are clean. Only thing is, the JC Penney parking garage is disgusting. It, and the stairwell specifically, smell strongly of urine and are likely a health hazard for everybody who uses them. The walls and floor of the stairwell need a good hosing down.

This mall makes 5 stories feel like 5 stores. I was hoping to waste the better part of an afternoon here, but there is very little worthwhile. If this is as good as it gets, I feel bad for you, Anchorage.

This is a standard mall, a tad better than a regional class B mall. Very convenient walkable downtown location, and pluses are the Nordstrom’s and tourist/niche stores like Alaska Wild Berry Products and Oil & Vinegar. I got some sale items at the Banana Republic(glad to find one here for quality sweaters) and had a snack at the Zack’s Frozen Yogurt in the serviceable food court.

They lose stars now because of the bathroom. For a family friendly place and no changing tables it really makes me mad! This mall is nice, but small. You can find what your looking for, however, what is not here is at diamond, if you can’t find either, they just don’t have it in AK. The food court is just okay, nothing to rush in to just come here to eat at. Not much to say about this place, its a mall that is clean and it’s bathrooms are horrible!
