The drive here once you pass the marshy areas closer to Anchorage is beautiful. The spot itself leaves a bit to be desired– it was SUPER windy the night we stopped by, there was trash littered around, and it was clear some people did not pick up after their dogs. J & I spent some time walking around/exploring the area; unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to spot any whales… the wind really was very brutal that night… :(

Beautiful scenic spot to stop and take a few photos of the water backed by gorgeous snow capped mountains. There are no facilities here if you are looking for a bathroom break(not even trash cans), but worth stopping for a look around!

This place was rather windy but we were taken here as part of a little tour before dropping us off to our cruise port in Whittier. The driver claims that whales are frequent in the area. Didn’t see a thing though. Despite their absence, it’s a beautiful, calm place.
