Great coffee! Stopped by to get a coffee on our way out of Anchorage. Such a surprised find. I ordered just a regular house coffee. I enjoyed it all the way to the last drop. I will try and get some beans to take home! Service was nice too.

Great coffee. Wide menu with lots of options. The server/barista was very friendly. I love the atmosphere. Great location with plenty of seats. Coffee was quick and tasty!

This place has the best coffee in DT Anchorage. Internet stinks though; go to SteamDot for that. Try the gluten-free brownie from the deli case, but avoid the gluten-free muffin(too sweet). The curry quiche and the frittata burrito are both good too, but not gluten-free.

Coffee is good, pastries so-so. As far as being hip, well hip in downtown Anchorage revolves around homeless, alcoholics, meth addicts and similar getting together to talk about their many daily adventures and they seem to be attracted to this coffee shop. Still, it’s Anchorage and that’s a good portion of the downtown residents so it makes it interesting.

Stopped in for a quick cup — got there before the crowds(6:10am) Tried having a shot of Screaming Monkey added to my hot cocoa. It was really good! Food case was full of great looking pastries. Staff was nice, the interior was clean.

The drinks are always good but the place doesn’t seem as warm, inviting, and friendly as their Northern Lights location. But I love that if I don’t immediately have an idea of what I want they start giving me a bunch of options of things they want to try to make or love making and tiny samples to try — this is usually only the morning baristas. Any after that tend to be straight to the point and don’t seem to want to wait for someone that hasn’t decided exactly what they want before walking in the door.

Great espresso drinks. I had a great Mocha here. The homeless people that wander in from the bus station across the street add a lot of character!

I mean this in the best of ways — this Kaladi’s is the«grungiest» of all its locations — an eclectic collection of the cities finest — office worker, student, homeless, politician, and at any given time, we’re all there, at the same time, arms outstretched, eyes barely cracked open, eagerly anticipating and waiting for a cup o’ joe. Then there are the annoying groups of office workers who talk of NOTHING but office politics and crowd the receiving line, waiting for their 5 – 1000 coffees. But in that time of waiting, this is an excellent coffee shop with which to people watch and eavesdrop. The coffee is mellow; definitely not bitter, and I have always appreciated that even their smallest ounce cups come with 2 shots of espresso. The music is always up my alley and just as eclectic as the patrons. Staff is friendly and appropriately buzzed. There’s a good selection of breakfast items in case you rushed from the house. Tip: there’s also a community meeting space that you can reserve for just about anything that looks to seat about 12.

Don’t walk in with your unfinished coffee In a mug thinking once your finished you can purchase some of their coffee because they will kick you out. Lol I’ll stick to my jewel lake location. Downtown is horrible service

HORRRRRRRRRIBLE coffee. GREAT service. Every time I came in for coffee the baristas were amazing. Always super friendly. That’s all this place has going for it. Every cup of coffee I’ve had from Kaladi’s tastes like dirt and fertilizer. Go to Steamdot.

I was looking for a good local coffee shop while on vacation and I found one. Caps made very well. Nice ambiance with friendly staff makes this a nice stop for a good cup of coffee. Clean bath rooms and some nice. pasteries.

BEST ‘coffee’ so far in anchorage, especially the kaladi latte. It is VERY delicious and unique, sweet with a hint of spice. They have nice seating along the windows near the street, but no outside seating… Too bad since the summer weather is so nice. Also, their cookies are SOGOOD! We had the chocolate chip that had a hint of cinnamon and the chocolate peanut butter, some of the best cookies I’ve had… They are classically good with a small boost :) it’s an easy place to sit and read or chat with a friend, small dab in the heart of dt

This place had exactly what it advertises. Good coffee. They have sandwiches and soups and snacks. Just beware because it is a hot spot for homeless people. I was asked to buy a bracelet from a homeless man so he could buy a cup of coffee. Kinda annoying when I’m trying to read a paper and enjoy a cup of joe.

Dare I say it, this place is BETTER than Starbucks. Went here a couple times, and I was sold every single time. Starbucks, I want a divorce.

Coffee was fine, except by the time I got it it was lukewarm. When I have tons of shopping bags, ask for a coffee«for here» and hand you a very nice tip? I would expect you have the decency to bring the hot coffee to the table I’m sitting at 5 ft from you, when no other customers are waiting. Starbucks may cost more, but they have better staff. The 2 stars rating is to get your attention – locals have a hard on for this place on Unilocal, but as a tourist I found this place less than average.

Coffee itself is good. But when one orders a latte, one should get a latte that has proper foam. Not as much as a cappuccino, but at least some.

I was told that this is the«Starbucks of Alaska». Indeed, I see their coffee served everywhere from restaurants to diners, while you cannot really find Starbucks easily. I didn’t end up getting Kaladi coffee from the actual café during my trip to Alaska here(always getting it from somewhere that’s «proudly serving» it), but I did get the chai. They have two types of Chai — Sweet(Alaskan) and Spicy(forgot its name). I really liked the sweet one — it was sweet, fragrant, and rich. This location has quite a few comfortable seats, and they seem to serve some pastries and stuff as well.

This seems to be the Alaskan version of Starbucks as I found many listing for Kaladi’s all over Anchorage during our 12-hour layover. This one was closest though, so it won out. So the positives were the seating was nice. There were tables, couches, chairs. They had a ton of local press which is always good to flip through. The coffee was good, but not necessarily great. The other positive is 2 shots in my latte! Their machine makes two shots so they don’t see the point in throwing one out just to make you try and pay for two(like Starbucks does). The servers were friendly to two people who were obviously tourists. The negative was that this location wasn’t easy to find. If I hadn’t spied that there was a coffee shop in this theatre complex then we never would have found it. And once again, the coffee was good, but not necessarily great. I’d probably try another location if I were back in Anchorage for a day.
