Nissi’s Grill

I was downtown for the Iditarod and did not want a hot dog/​brat, so I tried their beef empanadas and they were the best I’ve ever had! The chimichurri sauce they put on top is absolutely to die for. I ordered one, and it was so good I got two more to go to give one to my sweetie when I got home but I ended up eating both on the drive home while waiting at stop lights. Sorry honey :-(I believe they are at a new location on 4^th and about D for 2013. Highly recommend!

Nissi’s is my favorite Food Truck in Anchorage. They sell Latin American/​Argentine food. All you need to know is their empanadas with Chimichurri sauce are so good, I’d punch a little old lady in the face for them. If you’ve never had an empanada, they’re perfect street food– the original «hot pocket.» Nissi’s will ruin you for life– no other empanada will ever measure up.
Since Nissi’s is a food cart, it doesn’t have a real «address» so here’s how you find it:
From 4^th Avenue: Park on the street. Across from where D Street ends there are stairs that lead down to 3^rd Avenue. Travel down the stairs and Nissi’s cart will be on your left hand side.
From 3^rd Avenue: Park in the public parking lot in the middle of the block. Next to the US Post Office, there are a set of stairs leading to 4^th Avenue. Nissi’s cart is tucked into a nook at the base of the stairs.
Nissi’s Grill has REALLY weird hours. During the week they have lunch time hours and on the weekends they have super-​late night bar hopping hours.
