I love Coop’s! I’ve lived around the country and worked out at various gyms literally around the world(I travel quite a bit for work), and Coop’s is literally one of favorite places! The gym is ALWAYS clean, the equipment is well-kept, and it’s never over-crowded. The staff are kind and courteous which is also a plus. The gym is 24-hours which is great for me since I’m at the gym at 4:30am on most weekdays. All in all, the actual gym experience is great and the value(I think it’s only like $ 30/month) is unbelievable. What people mention about ABC Financial is true — they’re a mess. But that’s not really Coop’s fault. ABC Financial is pretty much a corporate standard(unfortunately) for most independent fitness centers, so you can’t fault Coop’s for that.

The worst customer service ever. Their billing company, ABC Financial, are even worse. A very very bad experience !!!

Dealing with ABC Financial(Coop’s billing company) is a total nightmare!!! I was diagnosed with a medical condition that prohibited me from working out any longer at Coops. My doctor sent ABC a certified letter per all of their guidelines in my contract. ABC found every way possible to drag my contact out for 60 days and long enough to get the semi-annual maintenance fee too! I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDCOOPSBECAUSEOFABCFINANCIAL!!! Stay away!

They use a third party billing agency and the only way to cancel is to send a certified letter to the billing agency. Even then they will continue to charge you 30 days after they receive the letter if they receive it at all. Not worth the trouble for a below average gym.

I have been to Anderson, SC about 4 times within 2 years when someof my family lived there and I have to say that Coop’s is an awesome work out facility! I really like the lay out of this gym. They have all the cardio machines on the 2nd floor with many LCD TVs to watch. It’s alike a loft style where the 2nd floor over looks the main gym area. It has an open balcony. The main floor has a indoor track going around the weight machines in the middle. The weight machines are top of the line machines and they also have a free weight area and benches also. In the main floor, there’s a room for aerobics and yoga and personal training. The lockers are little small and they do have a sauna but not a big deal. They could make it more spa like and I would’ve given a 5 star easily. very friendly staff and very helpful. But if you’re in this town and need a good work out or a good sweat, go to Coop’s!!!
