Safeway

If you can go anywhere else do it. Unless you want to spend 40 minutes in line. Whoever schedules the checkers in this store is insane, 5:30 at night two days before valentines day and there is one regular and one express line open. The line went all the way down the isle and into the bakery. This is just uncalled for and stupid. To top it off there was a poor elderly man there to pick up the flower arrangement he ordered and there was no one there to help him. they told him he would have to come back and 7pm when people came back from lunch. OMG
Wish I could post pictures of the line. Felt bad for the checker who got verbally abused by everyone that went thru her line. poor girl. To top it off., I have tried twice to call the store manger to complain this morning and no one will answer the phone.

This review is for the deli only. Came in at lunchtime hungry for a sandwich with all the fixings. There were two ladies making sandwiches at the deli counter so the wait was minimal. I ordered one of their signature subs and made a couple substitutions to it. My requests were accommodated quickly and with a smile. It seems they do not charge for additional toppings either– I added olives, peppers, etc for free even though the ingredients listed in the sub description did not include them. The sandwich was excellent, and cost just 5.49. :-)

I love the Safeway staff, however, this comment is regarding the pharmacy. I had a terrible experience with a lady named Alice when they had misplaced my fathers prescription. I called his cardiologist to follow up on it and they said that it has been refilled twice but they would do it again. I called Safeway pharmacy and after 3 calls of them telling me to call them back in 15min, I finally got through to Alice. Alice spoke to me as if it was my fault. She however stated that she saw that it was filled but then lost it. She did not apologize and stated that she was short staff and went on and on about her life. She was unprofessional and stated «I know your father very well» I then told her «I don’t need you to know them, what I need u to do is refill his prescription» in the end, my father did not get his digoxin dose that day even though we had requested a refill from the cardiologist a week ago. I will be following up with the manager Michael regarding his staff.

Lines, lines, lines! The service is slow or they do not have enough checkers, but either way, it makes for an annoying experience. And this isn’t just once or twice, it is virtually every time my husband or I have gone there over the past 3 years. In fact, we now avoid this Safeway at all costs. We have also had 2 experiences in which we were mischarged– once for 50lbs of apples instead of 5 (big price difference!!) and once where our card was charged twice. The employees were friendly enough, but it was still a pain to get them to correct the latter mistake. Hopefully, this store can improve because overall, I like Safeways, just not this one!

I don’t usually shop at Safeway as I prefer rayleys and costco but today my boyfriend and I were just wanting a specific salsa they sell. We grabbed a bag of chips and the salsa and went to the 15 or under line. To our surprise the two people in front of us had over 45 items in one transaction and the other person had about 30, not including the people behind us had what looked like a months worth of shopping that they were loading up. We ended up waiting in that line for over 30 minutes as every other «express» checkout was full of large purchases. Very inconvenient and those people should have been told to go to a regular checkout. The cashier was friendly but ignored the obvious inconvenience to us having only two items and having to wait so long to get them!

This is the best store in the north state. The friendliest staff. I can always come in and get what I want and get out in a hurry. Their bakery and produce is fantastic. recommend!

Only came in because we missed the exit for Starbucks on I-​5 on our way to Mt. Shasta. Saw Safeway and figured there would be a Starbucks in it. Score!
While he got the coffee, I went to the deli to grab a chicken salad sandwich and a package of 2 hard boiled eggs. Paid at the deli counter and customer service was great.
