So due to a job I am to start tomorrow, it was suggested by my phone company to buy a phone from Walmart. I went to their website like I have done several times before. Found a phone for 29.99 as a rollback, had free in store pick up today, so I ordered it. A half hour later I get an e-mail saying that phone was not in stock at that store and they had canceled the order. Went back to the website found 5 other stores that said the phone had the pick up here for free button on it, called each one. Each store was out of stock. Called , talked to a Lucas, who stated he was sorry but the underwear I had bought along with the phone that was canceled could not be canceled and that I would have to wait at least 7 business days before my money could get refunded. Even though the one that Walmart canceled had the money refunded immediately. So he asked me if I’d be interested in the next phone up for 49.99, I said I don’t have that right now and he said he could take 10.00 off for my trouble. So far I’m two hours in. I said fine I could do that but could he first call the store and make sure it’s in stock. He called the store then called me back, good news they have the phone and if you order it while we are on the phone together I will give you 10.00 off. Great, but now when I put it on it says available 11/24, but I need it today. He said don’t worry about that, we know they have the phone. Once all completed I called the Anderson, IN walmart just to make sure all would be OK. The man who answered says, yes we do have the phone. I said great, my order says it would be available on 11/24, but Lucas from said that was OK and to go ahead. The guys said, if it says 11⁄24 then you will have to wait till then. I said but you have the phone and already took the money out of my account. Yes I know, but you didn’t place the order on free pick up today, explained what happened and he said he was sorry there was nothing he could do. Asked to talk to his manager, he was in electronics, he said she can’t do anything for you either, I understand but can I talk to her anyway. He put me on hold for ½ an hour. I hung up called and got a manager on the phone within minutes. She stated she showed the order was canceled, I said they canceled my first order and that this order is showing open still per their website and . She, the customer service manager, said has no idea what they are doing and that I can’t have my phone until the 24th unless the shipment arrives to her store earlier. I said, you have the phone, she said yes but not the one you ordered. I said just to be clear you have the exact phone I ordered she meant the one that was physically being shipped to her store. She agreed she had the exact phone I paid for in store, but they wouldn’t give that one to me. I would have to wait until the same exact phone was shipped to them. I called again and they said that it’s really the stores decision and if they don’t want to give me the phone they don’t have to. I told her that if I don’t get the phone I could be potentially out of a job that I am supposed to make over 60K a year. She said she understood that, but she can’t even guarantee I get the refund back in time to buy a phone elsewhere. She called to speak to the guy who admitted he had the phone and he said there was nothing he could do and she said he questioned her that she wasn’t really calling from !!! I am out money, I am out a phone, and Wal-mart and who distance themselves from each other every time I talk to them refuses to do anything about it. To be clear, they have the phone, they have my money and no one will do anything to help me out. This will be made public as far and wide as I can make it.
